Set on a hillside terrace overlooking Playas del Coco, "Casa Holmes" has won several awards and been featured in magazines and books on Latin American architecture. Every room and bathroom has a view not to be missed. People are spellbound when they first enter the house. The house fits harmoniously on the site. The house even incorporates the granite base rock into its living spaces.
We have taken great care to provide our guests with a memorable stay. We have a resource library on the flora and fauna and culture of the region as well as pool-side reading, an infinity lap pool that overlooks Coco Bay, imported bathrobes, local organic bath products, maid service and much more. All of this just a 4 minute walk down our hill to the beach or a 12 minute walk to the center of town. The location of this retreat villa is outstanding.
About the Architect: Costa Rican architect Victor Cañas designed the house. Cañas is Costa Rica's premier architect and his renown extends throughout Latin America. He describes himself as a "tropical modernist" and he is known for his sensitive understanding of the site. His houses combine solidity of material with a lightness and openness that create a sense of harmony with the environment. There is no excess in Casa Holmes' design and every detail feels right. Casa Holmes may be Cañas' masterpiece.

- Catering Available: Our full time maid is a competent cook. We often arrange to have her prepare a dinner for us ahead of time before she leaves for the afternoon. With advance notice and for an additional fee she can stay through the dinner hour to serve and clean up.
