Beautiful new 2600 square foot log home located right on the shores of majestic Lake Superior. The lake home has all the amenities including: High speed internet and WIFI, three stone fireplaces, walk in glass block shower, SAT HD TV with four TVs including a 82" 3D HDTV in basement, 37" HDTV master, three DVD players (including a blue ray), 100 DVD library, Netflix on 2 TVs, CD collection, three IPod hookups, telephone for free local calls, and 100 year old barn-wood siding in the basement. We also have Bose speaker systems on all three levels.
A designer kitchen including a copper sink imported from Mexico with all new stainless appliances, an unforgettable vessel sink in the main bath, and a custom log wet bar are other highlights!
The home has two decks, with a large Weber grill and also a great fire pit lined with huge boulders to relax with a drink. The views from the decks and inside the lake home are spectacular looking at the open water and also a rugged cliff that lines the bay. This cliff is home to a falcon family that you can see from one of two Kayaks that guests can use. There is also an eagle's nest on the far side of Enchampment Island- a 20 minute kayak trip to the south.
The home also has a sauna, two person whirlpool bath, huge master bath and bedroom, and is tastefully decorated with antiques/knickknacks from around the world. The basement has a queen sleeper and a 3/4 bathroom for a comfortable private area for two people. Play cards or bumper pool on the custom made log game table in the basement. Better yet pour yourself a drink from the unique log wet bar in the lower level family room.
There is a short walking path to the pebble beach. The beach is beautiful, about a mile long, 40 yards deep, and a great area to agate hunt.
This lake home is very unique, rustic yet upscale, cozy, and one of a kind! You will not want to leave.

We had a fabulous stay and will hopefully be returning next year! Great location and beautiful home. Craig was very helpful and responsive throughout. In case it is unclear, the indoor fireplaces are gas. Also one of the reviews said there were not enough glasses but there definitely were!

The home was a perfect fit for our family weekend. The rooms were spacious and the fireplaces added that extra ambiance. Though the weather was less than ideal. We strolled the beach that was easily accessible from the home. Spent hours hiking in Gooseberry Falls, shopped in Two Harbors, played bumper pool and enjoyed Harry Potter on that big screen TV. The kitchen handled Thanksgiving meal with all the utensils and pots and pans readily available. This a great home.
Owner response:Hi Cheryl! Thank you so much for your kind review. We appreciate your business. Craig and Monique

Our little get away up north

This lake home has spectacular views and felt private even though there are other homes around on either side. The long wrap around deck was nice to look out over the lake. The chairs were all put away for the season though. There are a lot of very nice touches at this home with the decor and technology. Maybe the owners are hunters or just like being surrounded by animals. My 6 year old said "there sure are a lot of dead animals around here." We thought the various animals (moose head, dear head, snow leopard, cougar, bear, etc) were all interesting and it sure fits with the up north decor. The "Beach" is nice and close and is all rocks and pebbles (there are few sandy beaches on Lake Superior) and we had a lot of fun exploring and looking for Agates. There is also a really neat little cove and large rocks to climb on. There are a few things that were not in the home that would have been nice to have: a toaster, plastic cups/ mugs, more glasses (we all had different glasses - 4 adults and 4 kids and there were no kid friendly ones to use), storage containers (there were none! So we didn't have anything to store our left over foods), there were no zip locks either nor foil or shrink wrap. There is not much in the way of kitchen storage/ shelves/ cabinets and we cooked some really nice meals and brought up a bunch of food, so we ended up keeping the food in our coolers and in the bags we brought things up in. There is a beautiful large copper sink and nice new appliances. There is filtered water from the fridge but we didn't know that so we brought up filtered water since it was well water. We played games, had s'mores by the fire pit (you need to bring your own firewood!), explored the beautiful local attractions and the home provided a nice, cozy place to gather with dear friends (all the way here visiting from Australia!). Thank you!

We do not think you could ask for anything more! So much thought, care and details have been put into this lake home. Each piece of art work and decorations seem as if it they were made especially for this home. And oh what a beautiful view of the lake.We will definitely return again! Thank you Craig & Monique for letting us share your special piece of Lake Superior!

This is an incredible home! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here and were in awe of the beautiful, natural surroundings outside with the Lake Superior vista before our eyes. Inside we were treated to a home that has so much North Woods character and is impeccably decorated. Everything was top notch. Highly recommended!
