Maison Mirmande is set in a very private and peaceful setting in the beautiful village of Mirmande, Drome Provencale, France. Built in C18th this house represents a typical ‘maison de campagne’ in Provence.
This idyllic hideaway with a magnificent swimming pool (10m x 5m), boule court, table tennis and barbecue is self catering and spacious enough to cater for up to 10 people comfortably. Dining areas inside and out including an outdoor veranda which fronts onto a huge garden offers the perfect setting to relax.
Maison Mirmande is located perfectly between 3 major cities (Marseille, Lyon, Grenoble) all within an hours drive from the village of Mirmande. Exquisite restaurants, friendly people and beautiful architecture make up the look of the local village which has maintained its French traditional way of life.
Maison Mirmande has 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom in the upstairs section of the main house. The downstairs comprises an airy hallway leading from the main entrance with a spacious sitting room, dining room and kitchen to make meal preparation easy and efficient. This area remains typically cool and airy but can also be very cosy with an open fireplace for the cooler evenings of the winter months.
Beside the house there is a lovely annexe which has 2 further bedrooms and a bathroom for guests. Underneath the annexe there is a garage and storage space. Outside there is ample garden and outside sitting space to enjoy the sunsets and relax in the sun while enjoying the nature and scenery that the property has to offer.
Dining and lounging areas can be found outside the house on terraces with tables, seats and deck chairs on hand. The home is equipped with TV, DVD and CD Player. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine.

I have been to Mirmande many times and love the town and the area. Its centrally located to all the things that we like to do, hike, swim, ride, relax, and visit small towns throughout the countryside. If you're looking for an authentic French country experience, we love this area.

My family was 1 of 2 families staying in this house for 3 weeks in the summer of 2011. Be aware that the description is very truthful in the literal sense of the words used: * "True Rural" -- the location of the house is only 2km away from Mirmande, but Mirmande is essentially a ghost town since there's hardly anybody there. After you've visited Mirmande and Marsanne and a few other towns, be aware that you'll need to drive >1.5 hours to get to anywhere else interesting. * "Farm House" -- the most painful awareness of this term comes from the furniture: nothing is comfortable. There was not a single chair or sofa that was comfortable to sit in for more than a few minutes. There was also no table to seat for meals the 10 people the house accommodates. There was also weird black particles that would drift down onto our beds and furniture on the 2nd floor of the 2nd house. * "South of France" -- technically, it's south, but it's not the South of France you envision. It's a 2 hour drive to St Remy de Provence. Mirmande is in the middle of nowhere France. Some positives of the house: * The pool water never warmed up -- the thermometer said 80-deg F, but the temp was far lower * The water pressure was high * The ping pong table Other negatives: * The power line running right over the middle of the pool and upper patio * The upper patio was entirely river rocks...had to wear shoes the whole time * The tiny refrigerator in the 2nd house * The 3rd and 4th-levels of the yard were unusable due to bugs and stubble * The clothesline was unusable due to bugs * The hammocks were falling apart and buggy Take my advice: save your money and fine someplace truly in the south of France.
Owner response:i am very sorry to read the above and i am afraid despite my best efforts, this client seems intent on giving a false description of this property - this has been proven by the others who stayed in my house with this guest who gave an entirely different account describing the charm of the house and local environ - the south of france is not all about st tropez, the sea, 5 star hotels at your door step - it is in fact a place of rural culture and i fear this was a case of this disappointed rental expecting the wrong thing and not having a good grasp of life outside his sheltered US life...it is a great shame and i strongly disagree with his comments that seem emotional rather than rational
