Find out why Seattlites love to stay home for the summer. This is a pacific northwest home with panoramic views from most windows, natural wood throughout, and a great garden to explore. The big windows not only let in the view, but plenty of light. At the end of a cul-de-sac, the setting of this house will give you a top of the world feeling the moment you wake up.
The House:
The new Kitchen has everything you need to prepare a four course dinner, or bake a cake. Use the large family kitchen nook, or the beautiful dining room. There are great views from both. Also on the main floor is a full service laundry room, a living room with 58” home theatre, and powder room.
The Master Bedroom is on the top floor with a queen bed, 42" plasma tv and new bath room with Jacuzzi tub. Next to the bedroom is the office and library, which also works well as a second bedroom for small children if you wish them close to you.
Downstairs are three bedrooms with twin beds. A full bathroom is down here also. Every room has a good outlook to the garden and out to the Cascade mountain ranges. This makes for a great arrangement for teenage families, or as a way to give two families different living spaces.
The house is about 3000 sq ft and comfortably sleeps up to 8 people.
The Garden:
The house sits back from the edge of a plateau, so the garden and play areas are flat, but the views are uninterrupted. The back garden is fenced to keep children and pets in.
At one end of the garden is a full Pickleball court. Pickleball is a fun, casual, and very social game played in the pacific northwest that works like a tennis game with a slow ball. Racquets, balls, and net are included. A height adjustable competition basketball hangs over the court as well.
We are avid gardeners. There is a huge range of different and unusual plants all over the property for you to explore. Among the hedges and trees are several quiet and private sitting areas.
The spectacular Decks and BBQ:
Three decks means there is always one with just the right sun and shade for the moment. For summer, we put the BBQ on a north facing deck gathers the evening sun without getting hot and provides a very pleasant summer dining and cooking experience as the evenings lengthen. Watching the setting sun roll north along the horizon can be spectacular from here.
The Location:
We are on the eastside of Lake Washington with quick and direct access to I-90 and I-405. Twenty minutes will put you on the Seattle waterfront with its ferries and aquarium, under the convention center in the heart of the city, or in the mountains to the east, with their forests, hiking, and spectacular scenery.
Our own little shopping center with upscale supermarket, coffee shop, restaurant and other utilities is a pleasant one mile walk away. If you are lucky you will see deer and ground birds. A large park with hiking trails, play areas, and tennis court is borders the shopping area. The hiking trails connect with the Cougar Mountain trail system which could take you days to explore.
And with I-90 taking you straight to Safeco & Qwest fields, this is an ideal home from which to catch those ballgames.
