  We have spent a total of five great weeks in this apartment on two vacations. The location is the best in Lisbon with so much of central Lisbon within a few minutes of walking and yet the Metro on the great blue line is only a few feet away. On the Metro, it is only minutes to the fresh food market, great malls and the wonderful Cortes department store. The Metro goes right to the Cortes. The apartment was so well equipped with a fantastic shower and double sinks in bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking large meals. The extra living room was bright and airy and the outside garden was peaceful and tranquil. We enjoyed so many meals in the beautiful garden. We can't wait to stay at this apartment again. Thank you Martine and Enrique for another fantastic stay. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone that wants to enjoy a convenient and charming location. It is much nicer than it appears in the photos. We enjoyed a special restaurant called Ramiro's that has the best and largest tiger prawns that we have ever had. A very special, but expensive treat. For inexpensive casual dining, the bar at the nearby Casa de Alentejo is fantastic. Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and inexpensive wine from Alentejo. We can't wait to return.

  First of all we absolutely LOVED Lisbon. It is a beautiful city full of kind and friendly people. The apartment was perfect for my husband, 8 year old son, and I. It was clean, bright, and very large. It had all the amenities we needed and the private yard was awesome. We sat out there often eating lunch and drinking delicious Portuguese wine. Martine was very helpful and prompt in responding to all my inquiries. Henrique greeted us at the apartment and he was very friendly and answered all of our questions. We highly recommend this apartment, which was in a safe and central location. We were able to easily walk to all the sites, restaurants, shops etc. If we go back to Lisbon (and I hope we get the chance to) we would definitely book this apartment again.

  This is an excellent apartment. The descriptions and photos accurately characterise the property. It is walking distance to all the sights and very close to a Metro station. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. Everything you could want is there. The private courtyard is an added advantage. We arrived after a long flight from Australia, getting to the apartment at midnight...despite this our greeter Henrique was there waiting for us without complaint! Email communication with the owner, Martine, was easy and straightforward. We would recommend this apartment without hesitation.

  My daughter and I stayed in this vacation rental. We were needing some down time after lots of travels, and this place fit the bill. The beds are top notch, which is so important. The kitchen had a few basics like spices, oil and salt and pepper. We cooked a lot and it was suitable for this. It rained most of the time but we could imagine how nice the patio would be to use in summer or on a clear day. There are plenty of small fruit and veggie shops around the corner, as well as quick access to Av. Liberdad. Nice place, clean, bright, and good value.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

  Great apartment with excellent location for sightseeing Lisbon. It was clean, bright, sunny and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay very much. Loved the double wash basins in the bathroom. Very luxurious! The owner was very reponsive to our queries and the greeter was most helpful and attentive too. I would definitely recommend this apartment!

  Listing was accurate regarding appearance and amenities. Owner was very helpful and communicated well. Property was clean, well maintained and greeter was great. I would very much recommend this to friends and relatives. Generally people are very friendly and helpful. Wonderful museums, restaurants, coffee houses and great architecture are all within walking distance. Seafood is fresh and exceptional. Prices are reasonable. Would stay here again! (A neighbor helped me secure this property since I do not have internet. Communication was excellent between the owner and my neighbor and I!)

  My husband and I, as well as our 2 adult children spent the Christmas holiday week at Martine's lovely apartment. Martine was extremely accommodating and helpful, answering any questions I had in a prompt manner. My son had a very early arrival, and Ricky was so kind to meet him at the apartment very early in the morning. The apartment is spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean. We had plenty of room for 4 people. The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied, although we did not cook while there.Unfortunately, we did not use the lovely garden area, as it was too chilly. The location is perfect-- a block from the Avenida station, and really within walking distance of all of the old town sights. There are a number of small shops and a bakery just down the block, where we purchased our supplies for breakfast and lunch. There were also many restaurant choices within a 10 minute walk on the eating lane of Rua das Portas de Santo Antao. We would highly recommend Martine's apartment --thank you Martine for a great stay!

  My companion and I stayed at this wonderful apartment in September. As frequent travelers to Europe, we are always looking to stay at a reasonably-priced historic property, yet with all the modern conveniences. This place completely fits the bill! The apartment is just a stone's throw to Lisbon's main, leafy thoroughfare, and near all the central Lisbon sights. The neighborhood has all the necessary conveniences nearby (a pharmacy, an electronics shop [we needed a converter plug], a nearby shop for our food staples, as well as ample shopping and dining options. The subway is nearby, allowing quick access to other parts of town. As an added bonus, Martine's colleague Ricky provides helpful information about the city. Once we entered the doors of this apartment, we felt that we were in a "home away from home". The owner has gone the extra mile to refurbish the apartment in an attractive manner. The bedroom was very comfortable, and the open kitchen and separate dining area were perfectly proportioned to sit every morning having breakfast, looking straight out to the leafy patio garden at the back of the apartment. There are also two sitting/living room areas that provide other cozy angles for relaxing in the apartment. I spent many hours in the garden itself, even climbing up a small ladder to sit atop the owner's storage shed, soaking in the rays, and gazing at the neighboring buildings and activity. We also ate meals in the garden, which was a rare treat for a private apartment in Lisbon. I definitely recommend this place to other discerning travelers, and will definitely return.

  Great location...right off the Avenida and close to the old city. The apartment is as nice as the pictures and description say it is. The property is clean and well-maintained. The courtyard is a real plus and added to our enjoyment of the apartment. I would enthusiastically recommend this apartment to my family and friends. A couple of nearby restaurants that we liked were Cervejaria Ribadouro (loved the grilled tiger shrimp) on the Avenida and Bonjardim just off the "Eating Lane" for roast chicken.
