Great views of Lake Pepin/Mississippi River. Walking distance to marina, downtown Lake City and many restaurants and parks. Four local golf courses to choose from. Frontenac State Park is 6 miles away with good hiking and biking. Biking options in area include Cannon River Bike Trail and Root River Bike Trail. Scenic river walk goes right past the guest house. Free public boat ramp within 1/2 mile.
The is a very romantic location where you can enjoy each other and it will serve as a restful spot after enjoying a day of sightseeing, touring beautiful Lake Pepin and the surrounding area.
Red Wing is 17 miles up river, Wabasha is 13 miles down river - each is a historic river town with very nice shops and other amenities. Winter downhill and cross-country skiing is 45 minutes away at Welch Village.
Lake City has a beautiful lake front and marina; offering fishing, boating, sailing, golf, antique shopping, restaurants, bakery and bars. Not to be missed annual events include Tour de Pepin, Waterski Days, Johny Apple Seed Days, and Winterfest. Call us or email us for the dates of these events.

We were looking for a romantic weekend get-a-way place when we lived in Chicago and Lake City/Lake Pepin is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. All seasons are experienced to the fullest. Being on the river offers an ever changing view and experience. Beautiful sunrises start your day in this hearty country. Some of the friendliest folks in the Midwest live in this little town and The Jewel Golf Course offers the very best golf in the Midwest.
The Unique Benefits at this House
You will enjoy a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin from several windows of the home. The front room with windows on three sides in an excellent room to read and bask in the sun while enjoying the view. Location is ideal for experiencing the lakefront and walking about Lake City. Relax in one of the two Jacuzzis after your day, shopping, boating, golfing, biking, etc. There are endless thing to do year round.
Visit the historic site and childhood home of Gregory Schreck. Ten children were raised here by Harold and Julia Schreck. Julia was a cousin to Laura Ingles Wilder.

My wife and I, along with another couple, came down to lake city and stayed for a long weekend. The house had everything that we needed and was a great location for golf, shopping downtown, and exploring the area (including wabasha, pepin WI, and Stockholm, WI). The owners were extremely generous and gracious with us. They were also very easy to work with. We had a fantastic time and we look forward to visiting again in the future. We would highly recommend this house to any others visiting the area!

Charming but spacious home with great views of Lake Pepin. Comfortable bedrooms and living areas. Close to main area of Lake City so exploring its delightful antique stores and lakefront is an easy walk. Had the opportunity to play golf and found a "Jewel" of a golf course as well as a "jewel" of a place to stay. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Kathy and Rob

We felt totally relaxed in this cozy, charming home and loved being across from the lake: the beautiful view at different times of the day. We also enjoyed being able to walk into town and explore all of the different venues. There was so much to do in the area that we wished we could have stayed longer. This is a place with all the amenities of a hotel but with unusual privacy and warmth: a terrific place to stay! Joyce and Bob

Cozy, cute, clean, and comfortable describes this rental home. We spent the month of July here and enjoyed every minute. The view of Lake Pepin is wonderful. The people in Lake City made us feel so welcome. We cannot say enough good things about the landlord - we did not lack one convenience - he anticipated our every wish. We came down for a weekend of golf at the Jewel Golf Club. What we got was a quaint home with nostalgia and easy access to the Jewel as well as easy walking to Lake Pepin and the marina area. The house is very cozy and fun. Enjoy your stay...we did!
