Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful building, nice location/neighborhood. 1st floor did not have couch as advertised, and limited seating was available. Heat wasn't on the first night, but management came and turned it on the second night. Satellite TV went down and requests for service went unanswered by management (no response whatsoever to calls and email). Wasn't too big of a deal until until two days later me and my friends finished the marathon and returned to apartment while suddenly fielding phone calls concerning our safety. Would have been nice to have a working TV in order to track what was going on in the city the days that followed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The property manager was adequately helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Apartment clean, Street noisy but ok with us.Liked walking to the tube. Rating Details: I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was adequately helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I felt that the property was located in a convenient spot to public transportation, but it might be helpful to explain that you can take the #17 bus right in front of the building to the Andrew station on the Red Line. We figured that out ourself. Also, the availability of street parking was very good. On the negative side, several of the pull-up blinds were damaged and the absence of one in the bathroom was not good at all. In hindsight, we never called about it, so that's on us, but I suspect that the cleaning crew should have checked that out when they came in prior to our coming in. Also, it would be helpful if you provided a few of the necessities--toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. I would enthusiastically recommend it but would advise a potential renter to make sure they call if there are any issues like we had. Also, the amount of hot water was good, but if there's anything that can be done about the water pressure in the shower and kitchen, you should do it. Shower drain needs Drano'd.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Visiting our daughter at BU, we thoroughly enjoyed a one week stay with our family of four + 2 grand-parents= 6, in this well-designed, spacious apartment. The apartment is really lovely, it's true, even more beautiful than the photos! Only minus, there is a considerable amount of street noise for two of the bedrooms. Otherwise, the impeccably comfortable beds and the loveliness of the apartment made up for this. The rate was a VERY good deal compared to the costs of hotels in Boston. We would recommend having a car (parking was never a problem and free!).Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. The vacation rental was clean. The property manager was adequately helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Apartment layout modern but let down by lack of maintenance and not set up for 4 people e.g 3 stools in kitchen, 3 chairs in lounge, mixed bag of glasses and crockery. The bed linen in one bedroom smelt damp and we had to request a new sheet as the bottom sheet was ripped. It is a shame, the property is spacious lovely wooden floors, great little kitchen but just tired. Location 10 minute from Andrew reminded me of days in Brixton area mixed. Very noisy road and parking can be an issue, also noisy from above flat. The restaurant next door looked great but didn't get a chance to try. Contacted the team and were helpful on arrival.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was overall a great stay, though I have mixed feelings about the location of this property. It is a very convenient location with ample street parking with a major caveat: the traffic noise could be an issue for a light sleeper. It was to a point where some of the guests needed ear plug to sleep. Other than that, not much to complain about this place. Shawn was very professional and provided assistance in a very timely manner; he even provided brand new hair dryer when requested. Would have given this property a perfect score if it wasn't for the noise level.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Apartment is a good size, very clean and a fully kitted out kitchen. close to an atm and dunkin doughnuts. 10 minute walk to transport station with $2.50 trains to central boston and a taxi was around $12 from apartment to long wharf. Some parts of funiture were worn and could have done with text number on the instructions to check in and check out. We were warned by many people about staying in Dorchester and South Boston but it seemed fine and we encountered no problems over our week long stay. Very friendly locals.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was a wonderful alternative to staying in a hotel. We had 5 people and each person could technically have their own sleeping quarters. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels that lasted the entire week. We never ran out of hot water in the shower and there were days all 5 of us showered. It was very nice to have a full service kitchen, satellite cable TV and wifi access. The subway is within walking distance and there is a bus stop very near for easy access to the main city. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone traveling for an extended stay in the Boston area.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family has stayed in Dorset for 3 nights during our vacation. The place certainly looks better than in the photos. It is very well maintained, very clean and has a lot of character in its furnishing. Generous amount towels given which was great. About 10 to 15 mins away, you can find some big shopping outlets, including a huge supermarket. The metro station is about 15 mins walk but there is a bus directly outside the apartment that brings you to the Andrew Station. We took the bus a few times, waiting time around 15 mins to 25 mins. Overall, we had a great stay. Thank you, Lance.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I was disappointed with my recent stay at this property. Upon our arrival we did not have any hot water and we contacted the owner multiple times via phone and text. My guests and I had to take cold showers. The owner did not respond until the next day. Although he fixed the problem by the time we arrived back in the evening, we did not receive any compensation for our inconvenience. The property and location overall were fine, but I did not feel our comfort was of significant concern for the owner.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 8/10

The apartment is on the third floor of a renovated building in the Dorchester section of Boston. It is a half mile walk to the JFK/UMass stop on the Red Line of the MBTA, and the commuter rail station. Two bus lines run in front of the apartment. It is about 0.4 miles walk to a large shopping center with grocery store, Home Depot, Target, Panera Bread, Applebees, Olive Garden, clothing stores, etc. It is next door to the 224 Restaurant, which is open for dinners and is quite nice (~US$30/person), a block from a Dunkin Donuts, two blocks from a convenience store and Kentucky Fried Chicken, and a few blocks from the Euromart, which is a Polish minimarket (the writing on the packages is in Polish). There was an Italian restaurant and ice cream shop within a few blocks, but we did not try them. The apartment has a medium living room, large master bedroom, medium bedroom, dining room, kitchen, full bath, and small office that can be turned into a tiny bedroom. Closet space was decent. The apartment has nice furnishings, and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, fridge, microwave, stove and blender. For those of you not familiar with Boston, Dorchester is an improving neighborhood several subway stops south of downtown Boston. We saw many buildings undergoing renovation. The apartment is next door to Boston Collegiate Charter School. There is good cable TV and Internet service. I had to work while on vacation and had no problems. Overall our stay was very nice and it was very easy to interact with the owner. The only two minor nits were that on-street parking can be difficult to find at night (you don't need a car if you are staying in the city), and the air conditioning at night was set too cold for us Texans used to sleeping in 80F temperatures.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

If anything, the description failed to bring out the true charm of the apartment. It's beautiful, clean, well appointed and feels like home in short order. There are several restaurants and pubs in the area so getting a nice meal or grabbing quick drink are no problem. The T is an easy ten minute walk, much of it through a lovely neighborhood. From the T station, on the busiest day, we were perhaps 20 minutes away from downtown Boston. Lance provided great service! The value would be hard to match. My wife and three older kids stayed VERY comfortably for a week for what it would have cost for one night at a downtown hotel. If/when we go back to Boston, Lance will be one of the first contacts I make. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Bernie and his family were a delight. The family was conscientious, thoughtful and responsible. The apartment was left in wonderful condition and I would welcome them back with open arms. Providing accommodations to delightful folks like them make it all worth while!

This apartment had so many beautiful architectural details, the pictures really don't do it justice, particularly in the dining room. Everything that could be needed for a stay were provided, except for a hairdryer. The neighborhood was not the greatest, and there wasn't any food or sights nearby, but there was a grocery store down the road and the subway was an easy walk. It was very noisy, but that could just be how staying in the city is. The stairs were extremely steep and narrow to get up. Three of the four of us fell down some of the stairs, so I would not recommend it for seniors or children. The space was very lovely, well restored, and clean and there was loads of space for the four of us. A futon was provided in the office in addition to the two bedrooms, so I imagine up to six people could very comfortably fit. I would stay here again, but not with our 4 year old or our older parent.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: With such nice compliments on the apartment, I wanted to express my appreciation for taking the time to write a review and add a few things. We have worked very hard to maintain the historic character of the building and each of the units, so I'm glad that it shows. It sounds like I need to take some better pictures to show it off even more though! At the same time, I do think it is nice when guests actually get more than they expect. That is definitely the feedback that I get frequently. And having the very comfortable Restaurant 224 right next door really adds a special touch to our building, especially with their beautiful flower garden in the front, where you can have a drink or have dinner. If eating in is preferred, a Super Stop & Shop is only four blocks away. Everything imaginable is available there, as Boston and our neighborhood are very diverse, so this grocery store caters to many ethnic groups and tastes. We see diverse neighborhoods as great, and something to strive for. Finally, although the 5 steps to the front door are steep, there is a handrail. So with a bit of care, any senior or walking child can navigate. Boston is a historic city, so many stairs are steep compared to those in the suburbs. However, we have seniors and kids here on holiday to see the sights all year long, so don't let a few stairs scare you. Once you navigate all the steep stairs in the historic district, ours will seem like a breeze!

Impressed with the well-maintained unit. Very spacious and clean, fully equipped kitchen with pots/pans & utensils. Bedrooms were supplied with towels/linens. Separate TV room, sound system throughout the apt. Study room has pull-out futon, nice roomy dining room. Ran short of hand soap and toilet paper - might consider bringing your own extras - also missed not having a hair dryer. Must supply own bath soap as well. The front bedroom experienced noise from the outside at night. The red line T (Andrew Station) is 12-15 minute walk. There is a SL1 bus that is supposed to come & takes you to the T station but seldom comes. It's not a bad walk but would not recommend it for those with walking issues. Good thing it was not pouring rain when we were there. Could not find the street location on our AAA maps but it is in south Boston area - near Dorchester. Stop & Shop is a convenient grocery store nearby within walking distance. Did not go to any nearby attractions or restaurants - mostly went into Boston & spent the days there. Would definitely keep this in mind for future visits to Boston.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Located a few miles from down town this appartment was a 15min walk from the nearest T stop (Red line) and on a bus route so transfers into the city were very easy. Only a few restaurants locally so it was better to stay in the heart of the city. Very good service from owner before, during and after our stay. Appartment was well maintained though the bathroom let it down a little, fixtures and fittings were of a good standard and the air conditioning was especially welcome as the weather was very hot. Appartment is up a steepish set of stairs and steps up from the street so not good for those with small kids or the less mobile. Bus back from the T passed by a supermarket which was very convienient. We all enjoyed Boston a lot which with 2 demanding boys (ages 10 & 14) is saying something!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We stayed here for 10 days in June. It has everything you need. TV, full equip kitchen, dinning room seperate to sittting room, aircom, even books to read on the rainy day. About 10-15 min walk to train station (red line). Large food store 10 min walk, however there are smaller stores within 3 min walk. Think its a polish neighbourhood, as we were asked were we polish a few times even though we were Irish. Taxi cost 14 dollars back from the city but only 5 -7 mins drive. Airport cost 28-35 dollars depending on rush hour - takes ony 20 mins. Beach (carson) near by just past the red line station 18 min walk. Nearest bar - The Banshee - on Dorset ave about 10 min walk- shows all sports. Restaurant next door nice too, you can find it on the internet. Only negative we found is the noise at night but you expect this in a city.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rentet this apartment through the internet, and was not disapointet. The apartment was spacius, well equipped, very clean and with a beatiful view towards inner Boston from the terrace, which. we enjoyed whenever we were at home. It was about 10 minutes walk from a big food store and about 15 minutes walk from the red line. Everything is in walking distance, and we as europeans, who are used to walk at anytime, never felt intimidated at any time. We can reccomend the restaurent next to the appartment. It has excelent food to reasonable prices and a good service. In all we very happy for our stay and will certanly rent this place another time. By the way, we come from Denmark and are 3 persons.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: These folks were fabulous! Very friendly and personable, self-sufficient and left the apartment neat as a pin! I would recommend this family to any owners that have the great luck to host them.
