Apartment suited our needs perfectly. In the heart of Downtown LA it's so easy to get out and about both by foot and car. Apartment ideally located. All facilities were first class and the secuirty men were very friendly and helpful. The car parking facilities were ideal for us as its just round the corner from the apartment. Spent quite a bit of time up on the roof top catching some sun..... before we go back to the sunless UK!!!!! It's fabulous up there ...... only thing missing is a pool!! As our flight departs late in the evening, we were facing a full day from 10am after check out to hanging around - one short email to Tim during our stay, and he very kindly let us stay in the apartment as long as we wanted. Would definately recommend to anyone Thanks for a wonderful stay Tim

my love and i visited LA for 2 days before launching to big sur heaven, and the loft was really the perfect place to be for ecclectic people watching, local coffee haunts, and quiet, cozy, intimate surroundings for a relaxing stay. tim really thought of everything and was available when we had some confusion about which garage to park in. we will definitely return again and again! randy and liz, dallas, texas

The check-in, check-out, directions, etc. were really well organized. The loft was very clean and the location was great - we could walk to the subway, arena, farmers' market, concert hall, shopping, etc. and the parking was very convenient. The roof-top patio was the highlight. We would definitely stay again.

This was our first time trying a Homeaway rental. We enjoyed the experience. Tim's loft was as pictured and described, clean and comfortable, and excellently located for our purposes: (1) a multiday conference in the L.A. Convention Center; (2) self-guided walking tours of the historic core of downtown L.A. and nearby points. FINALLY rode Angel's Flight, visited MOCA up the hill, shopped at Grand Central Market, went inside the Bradbury Building, toured the LA Public Library, checked out the Biltmore next to Pershing Square, and enjoyed many more architectural sights. (But the Clifton Cafeteria was closed for renovation -- maybe next time.) Our 3rd aim was to avoid the usual generic hotel environment -- we definitely did, without feeling we'd sacrificed any comforts or security. We appreciated all the useful information that Tim provided, as well. (We had a bit of a challenge to work out getting our car unloaded and over to the parking provided in the St. Vincent Jewelry Center a block or so away. This was because we didn't have a clear sense of where temporary and longer-term, arranged-for parking were beforehand. But one can drive around the block until all becomes clear....) People in the 14-floor Bartlett building were friendly, and there were good dining places nearby. (The Nickel Diner a bit east, on S. Main, was our go-to place for most meals, with some variation at the Wood Spoon a few blocks south. Also don't miss BigManBakes cupcakes on S. Main!) We would certainly recommend this rental. The streets nearby and to the east are gritty, but the old buildings and activity are great (look up and go into lobbies to see some wonderful architecture). Don't miss the views from the roof of the building, which has seating and some plantings.

This loft was ideal for my 9 days on campus at the nearby Chicago School of Professional Psychology (5 blocks away). It is clean, spacious, and offers an ideal respite between classes or work, and the owner and building staff were amazingly helpful. The neighborhood is safe, vibrant and fun...Lots to do! Don't miss the breakfast sandwiches at LA Cafe, Soi7 Thai, or the pastries at Louie a few blocks away.

We had a wonderful four night stay in this beautiful loft. The location and conveniences couldn't have been better! The loft was VERY clean and was our comfy home. It was nice having a washer, dryer and computer available for us. One of our favorite aspects of this rental was going to the roof - day or night! We couldn't do a review without mentioning how helpful the doormen were and parking was a breeze! And free. Thank you Tim. We would rent this again in a heartbeat if we ever need to be in LA..

The loft is very beautiful, bigger than it looks on the pictures with really nice amenities (the oven, the fridge & the couch are awesome). The location is perfect, especially when you do not have a car like us. You can easily catch a bus to go everywhere, if you plan a little before. The owner was very helpful giving us tips for transport and everything. We really envoyed our stay in this loft, quiet & secure.

I enjoyed my stay thoroughly. I was in Los Angeles for work and then my daughter joined me for a day to celebrate her birthday. I'm used to an urban setting, so the location was wonderful and the loft was perfect for my needs. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I got a great night's sleep (which is saying quite a lot). I would definitely return on my next trip to LA.

In LA for a week of business meetings and stayed in Tim's loft in the heart of historic downtown LA. The location is excellent because it has easy access all the major freeways (10, 101, 5), allowing you to get anywhere within the greater LA area within 30 minutes. The loft is well maintained, clean and every amenity that you can think of is provided. For those who do not have a car, public transport is within walking distance (Pershing Square station). Clifton's Cafeteria is just around the corner for those who want to eat at a place with a lot of history. I will definitely be coming back in the near future.

This place is convenient, cool and well outfitted. Great instructions and the Owner was super helpful. Condo comes with parking! Has a washer & dryer, computer & printer, interesting DVD collection and a guitar. Owner is accessible by email and phone and provided a lot of good information about the area. There is info on the closest coffee shop, dry cleaner and other resources on the refrigerator, just like home. Bed is comfortable, towels and linens are fresh and new. Place is clean and very comfortable. We recommend this to anybody. No kids in our group but there is a sofa bed and comfortable couch for a small family. (no privacy)

My wife and I had a great time at this downtown L.A. Loft. The unit was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We did not use the Metro or the bus service, as we had a car, but both are really close and convenient. There are several restaurants that we visited (Down and out, L.A.cafe, Nickel diner and Stray cats) all of which had excellent service and very good food. My wife and I are fellow owners on HomeAway.com, and I hope that people find us as easy to work with as we did Tim. We hope to make this trip an annual event and we plan to stay here again if at all possible. Thanks again Tim.

I would recommend this loft to pretty much anyone I know (in fact I have already) that was looking for a location to stay in Downtown LA. Sometimes photos can be misleading but in this case they don't capture how well kept and loved the loft feels with a large DVD collection, laptop/internet, magazines, tour guides and basics in the fridge and cupboard. The parking situation was as easy as it could be in the center of a huge city and the Doormen were always friendly and willing to help with any requests. The only draw back is the noise at night. If you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs (or have an extra drink before bed!) as there were some sirens and noise from nightclubs near by. Safety was never a concern for either us nor our vehicle. Right from the first email Tim came across as someone that took pride in his property and if we are ever looking at a place to stay in LA again we will be returning.

The property was a great find. Tim, the owner, was prompt with all our enquiries and extremely helpful providing useful travel tips before our arrival. We were a family of four with two teenagers and the space was adequate. Great to have laundry facility in the apartment. Apartment was clean and our bed was very comfortable. Byron the attendant of the building was a gem,and was willing to help where ever possible. We had a hired car and the parking arrangement was great and we felt that the car was secure. We also used the public transport system as it is easily accessible from the location. Would recommend this apartment and if we returned to LA would definitely stay here again

This is a great place, we were attending an event at the convention center for 3 days. The loft is centrally located and very well appointed. After reading the excellent reviews we booked the loft for two weeks. We were not disappointed. Before, during and after our trip Tim was always available with lots of information and advice to enable us to get the most from our visit. The Flyaway Shuttle Bus from LAX Airport to Union Station cost $7 each and the taxi to the loft $7. The loft was true to description, modern in design, beautifully decorated and very comfortable, especially the bed. We enjoyed relaxing in the loft at night and eating in.Local grocery shops include Ralphs, Walgreen, and Rite Aid. Chosing not to hire a car we found we could visit many attractions using the Dash bus and Metro ( a few minutes walk away), the 733 Express on Spring St to Santa Monica, Red line Metro to Hollywood and and Studios and the Blue line Metro to Long Beach. We did a lot of walking around the downtown area looking at the historic buildings and the more modern buildings such as Walt Disney Hall. We had a wonderful holiday and would have no hesitation recommending this loft to anyone. Thanks once again Tim.

This place was AMAZING! I only stayed here for five days, I wish I could of stayed longer, but I had a trip to Vegas the weekend that was coming up. When I was looking for a place to stay in DTLA this place was great for me, it was only me! Its also great for couples and a family with small children! I ate at BL (Bottega Louie) down the street like 3 or 4 times. That place I discovered in Jan. of '09 and I always go back there everytime I go back to L.A.... and L.A. Café down around the corner on Spring st. is also a good place to eat, also the little Mexican restaurant next to that as well is excelent. The loft is walking distance to Staples Center / LA Live, Walt Disney Hall, Little Tokyo as well as dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and clubs. The subway, not that far from Bottega Louie can take you any where where you think can of for entertainment. I'm from L.A. and I know of them all, so trust me when i tell you, if you're from any where else, and you come to L.A. stay in this comfy little loft and enjoy L.A., the subway will take you to Hollywood in 10 minutes, it will take you to Univesal Studies in another 10 minutes. It can take you down to Long Beach and you can go to the aquerium. Tim was great on any issues I had with any personal issues I had at the time, good customer service on his end. His loft was cleaned and well-maintained. The bed was so comfortable! I knew I was living the experiance of living in DTLA when the city buses are your alarm clocks, they will wake you up if your alarm fails. Im definitely staying here next year when i come back (God willing), so Tim, be ready and thanks for everything!

I would highly recommend the Loft ... it was well designed and stylishly decorated with contemporary touches. It was thoughtfully appointed for dining in, with all that one could possibly require, and walking distance to Ralph's for supplies. It was well located for exploring Historic Downtown LA and the car park was invaluable after exploring Hollywood, Universal Studios & the stunning Getty Centre. The bed was very comfortable, as was the sofa bed for our 2 teenagers, the roof deck a lovely bonus. We enjoyed a delightful Italian dinner around the corner that came recommended in the box of information provided. From the start communication with Tim was extremely efficient, organised and reliable, committed to making our stay comfortable with the security deposit returned promptly, . A bonus that they were shooting a scene in the next door lane. A fantastic loft in a fantastic city ... thanks Tim :)

My experience renting this property was excellent! I cannot say enough good things about the loft itself or the customer service provided by Tim. The photos are very accurate representations of the loft - modern, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the fold-out couch came in very handy as well. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked with thoughtful amenities that could be needed or may have been left behind at home. Tim has truly accomplished making the loft feel like a home-away-from-home for his renters. The building always felt extremely safe and secure to me, and the security staff in the lobby was very helpful and friendly. In addition, the building was generally quiet and thankfully lacked any noisy neighbors. The parking pass that accompanies the loft was very convenient and extremely useful. Several restaurants offer delivery service to the property, and the LA Cafe, a half block away, was a handy spot for sandwiches, soup, and pastries 24 hours a day. Both in advance and during the stay, Tim was extremely responsive to any questions or communications. I am very pleased that I chose this property for my vacation and would definitely stay there again in the future.

THIS LOFT IS SO CHARMING AND SPACIOUS. PERFECT DOWNTOWN LA LOCATION, WALK TO EVERYTHING, STAPLES CENTER TO WALT DISNEY MUSIC CENTER. THE LOFT IS EQUIPPED WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED TO MAKE A GREAT MEAL, READ WITH SUPER LIGHTING AND COMFORT CHAIRS, PRINTER PROVIDED, VERY COMFORTABLE BED. TIM HAS LOADS OF MATERIAL TO USE IN EXPLORING LA. WE WERE THERE FOR 10 DAYS, TO ATTEND WAGNER OPERA FESTIVAL, AND LOVED BEING ABLE TO GET ALL OVER THE AREA SO WELL ON FOOT, OR USING THE DASH, A CHEAP BUS SERVICE FOR THE DOWNTOWN AREA. THE PARKING SPACE PROVIDED IS AN ENORMOUS PLUS TO THIS LOVELY LOFT. WE ESPECIALLY LOVED THE ROOFTOP DECK IN THE EVENING, TAKING SOME WINE AND CHEESE UP AND VIEWING THE FULL SURROUND OF LA. A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE HERE IN LA, AND WE WILL BE BACK TO THIS PERFECT HOME AWAY FROM HOME. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING TIM.

We did not have a car and this location was perfect for us. We explored the historic downtown on foot, creating our own tour of the fabulous 19th and 20th century architectural treasures. For other trips, including to and from the airport, we used buses, trains and taxis. Ralph's grocery is within walking distance and there are numerous restaurants and cafes nearby. Bottega Louie is outstanding. This was a good situation for two 55+ travelers, and we look forward to another visit.

Our first clue to how great our "LA Loft" experience was going to be was the gracious welcome that Tim gave us when we arrived. He gave us the tour of the property, lots of local info and great recommendations. The area in which the loft is located is just wonderful. Not glitzy but really great! There's plenty of impressive deco architecture and faded but still beautiful old theaters. We didn't rent a car so we walked everywhere and utilized the public transit with ease. For dining out, the loft is walking distance to great food: Little Tokyo for the best Ramen we've had outside of Japan (Daikokuya), the Nickel Diner for outrageously delicious comfort food and a great half price sushi restaurant (Octopus) close to Metro Center. The loft itself is decorated beautifully and gets a high utility score from us as well. Everything we needed was supplied and up to a high standard. We'll definitely come to stay again!

This rental allows you the rare opportunity to live like a local in one of the most unique neighborhoods in downtown Los Angeles. My husband and I rented this loft for my birthday weekend and loved every minute of it. The loft is very clean, with beautiful design details and a great modern feel. The parking spot that's included in the rental makes the entire stay even nicer. We enjoyed cooking dinner one night and sipping wine while watching the sunset from the roof deck. But the true experience of this place is walking around the Broadway District of Los Angeles. Within just a few blocks of the loft are great restaurants, cute cafes and awesome bars. We enjoyed a true day and night out on the town before returning to our much more suburban existence. We both wholeheartedly recommend this loft for a romantic weekend, fun experience, architecture adventure or for anyone who wants a unique Los Angeles experience that you can't get at a generic hotel. Thanks for a wonderful weekend. I'm sure we will come back for many more!

Just a lot of diversity from the financial center to the flower market area. Do check out the Grand Central Market. Several good places for takeout nearby --- the rooftop deck is large and has a half dozen or so separate seating areas --- a good place to relax and enjoy the sunrise or sunset, It was a pleasure to explore an interesting part of an interesting city on foot --- not stuck in a car on a freeway.

It was so nice to be able to be right in the middle of downtown and go to the pantry, nickel diner, pete's and other cool restaurants. And the view on the roof was a great place to sit and take it all in. Downtown LA is a great place and my fiance and I had the chance to experience it the best way with staying at this studio. We loved it! We picked the perfect time to stay here... they were shooting a movie right outside! The atmosphere was fun - but still very relaxing and casual. No hotel pressures and everything you need at your fingertips. The loft is very spacious and comfortable, I only wish we would have stayed longer! We visited the roof deck, but wish we had time to just lounge there. Lots of great food within walking distance. We flew in to Burbank around rush-hour, the drive was pretty easy. Tim is so easy going and great to deal with. He was a huge help from the first phone call to checking out. We HIGHLY recommend this loft and will stay here again when we come back to L.A. Thanks Tim!

I definitely enjoyed my 10 day stay. When I come back to LA, I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying in this property again and would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anybody. WYSIWYG, this is an acronym in the IT field that stands for What You See Is What You Get. The photographs are very true. Tim, the owner has decorated the appartment stylishly. The property is located in the heart of the Historic District of downtown LA. The appartment and its amenities are also clean and modern, a big plus when going to a place. The appartment is very close to bus stops and a very short walk to a major Metro station. I had absolutely no problem in visiting every tourist attraction I wanted using the public transport system. At the time of writing, the cost of buying a weekly ticket is also very cheap. The property is located in a building that has a security presence. Have said that, I didn't feel there were any security issues around the area, nor in travelling on the subway or buses at night, nor walking down the street. I used simple common sense! Tim, the owner is curteous and went out of his way to assist me in my desire to find some places to Salsa whilst I was visiting LA. Although I had absolutely no problem in sleeping at night, people who are ver light sleepers may have some difficulty as the property is located in the heart of downtown LA.

My son and I had the opportunity to stay here while attending an orientation session at USC. We were looking for a place that would comfortably accommodate both of us, have the conveniences of home for 5 nights and be close to USC. I have stayed in several hotels in the downtown area and paid for parking up to $35/night. One parking space is included with this unit which made it very economical for us. After much looking I decided on this loft. It is exactly as it appears in the photographs. It is very well appointed and clean. My son was very comfortable on the futon and the bedroom area around the corner was great and somewhat private for me. I was concerned that the noise of the downtown streets would keep me up at night as I am a light sleeper but I slept great. There is AC and there is a fan that I kept going that helped with the noise and also the fact that.the loft does not face the street directly keeps the noise level down as well. We called Tim as we approached the downtown area and he met us exactly when we arrived to let us in the parking garage which is in the gated basement. The building is very secure. He proceeded to give us a tour of the building, introduce us to the guard in the lobby, explain the area and show us the particulars of the loft. The customer service he provided us was great and he even checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was going well. Communication before, during and after our stay was immediate. I would point out that I definitely would stay here again and I felt very safe in the loft and in the parking garage. All the tenants I came in contact with were very friendly although for the most part I really didn't see too many. I would point out that it is not located in an area that one would feel comfortable walking around in so having a car was great but one has to remember that this is downtown LA. Being familiar with LA and knowing this in advance, this was not a problem as I had a car and that was not my priority. There is a wonderful new Ralphs located a few blocks away that Tim told us about. We went there several times which made the kitchen that much more invaluable to us. Really, overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend this loft especially if one is looking for the downtown area, has a car and wants a home away from home. As far as decor goes, it is very contemporary but is very comfortable at the same time. Hope this helps!

We stayed here for a week and loved it! It is very conveniently located to so many things to see and do in LA and there are some great restaurants all over downtown, we especially loved The Nickel on Main Street for breakfast. It's also very convenient to the subway and Union Station. The loft is really beautifully decorated and super clean. There is also secured parking in the building which was great to have as we had a rental car. The owner Tim was really nice and super accomodating and gave us lots of tips and recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here mid May 2009. Tim was good to work with and very accommodating. Loved the location - walked to City Hall, Music Center, fashion district etc. If staying here, recommend doing an LA Conservancy walking tour of the area. Great architecture from the late 19th early 20th centuries. We parked the car (in the secure, underground parking) and didn't use it until the day we left. Good restaurants nearby. (Nickel Diner on Main, good and moderately priced; Water Grill on Grand for the special night out - expensive and worth it). Loft was comfortable, with a nice rooftop space. We will definitely stay here again.

This apartment is a must for anyone visiting the Los Angeles area for an extended period of time. It is exceedingly comfortable, exquisitely decorated and located in a superb building. Tim Grant has been wonderfully accommodating with my rental needs and has gone above and beyond with providing useful information to make my stay both easy and familiar. I've been touring the country with work for seven months now and this is, by far, the best place I've stayed. I give this loft and its owner two very high thumbs up!
