Private Watch Hill Cottage 5 Min. Walk to Beach
- Minimum stay:Contact owner

- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
An alternative to generic condominiums, our unique little cottage is in the heart of Watch Hill. You can walk to two beaches, the oldest 'flying horse' carousel in the U.S., and shops and restaurants in minutes. The cottage is also a short walk from the new Ocean House resort hotel and the Watch Hill Chapel.
The Ice House was originally the kitchen/ice house for the larger home on the property, which was later converted to a separate home. The house has a loft-like first floor, with open living and dining room, and a full kitchen with counter seating. There is a new flat screen TV, a pull out couch, and a vintage 1930's Hoosier cabinet and matching dining set for four. The bathroom is also located on the first floor, has a 'claw foot' tub with shower, and a small washer/dryer unit. The cottage has a Caribbean color scheme overall, with a mix of vintage and contemporary furnishings and art.
On the second floor, the master bedroom has an antique double bed with romantic net canopy. The second bedroom has two antique iron twins and is perfect for families with children. Both bedrooms are air conditioned. Outside the bedrooms is a cozy sitting area with a vintage rattan couch, chair, computer desk and small flat screen TV.
The deck on the front of the house has a dining table with umbrella, chairs, occasional tables and a small grill for outdoor cocktails and dining.

Why the Owner Chose Watch Hill:
Watch Hill is located in the town of Westerly, RI, the first coastal town over the Connecticut border. It is twenty minutes from Mystic, Connecticut, the Mystic Aquarium and the Mystic Seaport Museum. The lovely town of Stonington, Connecticut, home to many antique shops and boutiques, is also just a twenty minute drive. North of Westerly, Newport is about 45 minutes.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
If you want surf and a deep, sand beach, East Beach is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. If you want a quiet, family beach that is more protected from the waves, the beach at the carousel ( sometimes called the children's beach) is available for our renters and is also a quick walk down Bay Street. Both beaches have life guards on duty. Parking pass for the Bay Street lot is included.
