This place is a winner in all respects. We are former San Diego residents who know the area very well. Since moving away from Southern California, we have used numerous vacation rentals during our frequent return trips to San Diego. But this Moonlight Beach apartment is number one on our list. It's just a block to one of the best beaches in California. And it's only a couple blocks to Encinitas -- one of the best beach towns in San Diego County. The apartment itself is a nice beach house, with enough elegant touches to make it feel like a home. The views are great, and the deck is outstanding. And the owner, Carol, is a gracious and helpful host.

Recommended for:Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a great place for a couple, winter or summer. The owner was so accommodating, the interior was very clean, and the deck was incredible--look at the ocean, see what's happening around town, grill on the gas grille and enjoy the sunsets. You won't find a better deal or location, if you are a couple and love the ocean. We'll be back. Trish and Jim

My mom and I spent 4 nights in this sweet location just up from Moonlight beach. The patio was huge and the view fantastic. We also enjoyed having the ability to park at the house and walk to downtown Encinitas where there was shopping and a Whole Foods. The house was very comfortable and we were able to find everything and I really appreciated the beach toys that were available. Looking forward to staying here again!

We recently stayed at the apartment for the second time in July 2011 (our 1st stay was last year). We absolutely love renting from the owners. They are very easy to work with and are happy to help with anything we have needed, including local recommendations. In my opinion the apartment is even better than the photos depict. The apartment is very clean. The views are amazing and the large patio is perfect to spend some time relaxing while not at the nearby playground or at the beach. The den is perfect for small children and, although it makes it pretty cramped, the master bedroom can fit a pack and play if you have a baby. The apartment comes with one parking spot which is large enough for an SUV. The location is close to everything! Walk to town, playground, or the beach! We hope to stay here every year!

Property accurately represented. Couldn't get much closer to the beach. We stayed on Memorial Day weekend and didn't have to wrestle with traffic to get to the beach. Our main goal was beach time...easy walk to most anything we wanted with our beach holiday. Owner/caretaker very helpful. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

My family and I stayed here over Christmas 2010 and had a wonderful time. The description fits the location beautifully but the hospitality shown by the neighbors, in particular Jackie,made it that much more inviting. Considering how boisterous my 2 and 4 y/o's can be--with a dog to boot!--they showed nothing but warmth and compassion in accommodating us during our stay. I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful home in San Diego (Encinitas) to anyone who longs to be romanced by Southern California's stunning allure. The views will make you smile while the people warm your soul... I hope we can go back soon!

We stayed here July 24-Aug1, 2010 and absolutely loved it. Close to everything. We played tennis every day, walked to the beach, yoga, restaurants, movie theater...everything nearby. We can't wait to come back next year!

Great place super close to the beach! We had our boys with us 4 and 2 years old. Plenty of room...bigger than it looks and the HUGE deck is like extra living space! Owners are great to work with. Will rent this property again and again. Good parking our front...park it for the week.

My family and I came to Encinitas looking for some family fun and relaxation and we found it.. We stayed at this wonderful apartment on B street. The owners are very accomidating and extreamly friendly. We have 3 small kids and we fit perfectly, the balconly was the highlight of it all, it brought the view of the ocean as well as the perfect place to people watch. The unit was super clean and comfortable. Also the park for the kids was awesome, the perfect family get away !! We will come back and stay here again:)

Lovely place, we had a great time with our two little kids being so close to the beach and to the center of Encinitas (good restaurants). The location is perfect to visit San Diego Zoo, Legoland, Disneyland, aquarium etc - we have to come back! The girls loved the deck to play, it's really hard to beat. The view is gorgeous and perfect for eating and having barbecues. Very friendly owners.

Wonderful place to stay. We are grandparents and took our young grandchildren for a short vacation. We were very confortable and especially enjoyed the large deck. As we relaxed with a glass of wine, the little ones played in a secure area. We had every single meal outside. Spectacular moonlight evenings. The owners were attentive and responsive. Thanks for a great week.

Wow! What a wonderful place to be. The deck is amazing, we saw a pod of dolphins jump by on our first day there! Location, Location, Location...easy walk to everything you could possibly need or want. We had a fabulous time and dream of returning SOON! Thanks so much for being great owners!

Wonderful place. The house is comfortable and cozy and the deck is amazing as it looks out to the ocean. The location is perfect, close to Moonlight Beach and downtown Encinitas. The owners were kind and very easy to work with. We look forward to a return vaction in the near future!

Great Find and would HIGHLY recommend. Large private deck overlooking ocean a real highlight. Perfect location for walking to everything...beach,entertainment,dining,shopping. Wonderful owners to do business with. Already have next vacation dates scheduled!
