Lake Sutherland, lakefront vacation cabin (13 miles west of Port Angeles, WA, USA on Hwy 101 centrally located in the North Olympic Peninsula at the gateway to Olympic National Park)
Waterfront with mountain views, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath (sleeps up to 6 in cabin). A single step down for cabin entry from the paved parking; level entry from the unpaved side of the cabin.
This cabin offers an active summer water sports lifestyle right out of the front door. In addition, Olympic National Park is less than ten minutes away either East or West on HWY 101. Lake Crescent and the Olympic National Park offer many trails for hiking, walking, running, biking, snow shoeing, downhill and cross country skiing. You could even take the COHO ferry to enjoy an easy day trip to Victoria, BC in Canada. The Pacific Ocean and the Straits of Juan de Fuca are both very short drives from the cabin.
This cabin is small but very cozy and enjoyable. It is visibly spacious because of the extensive picture windows which offer a completely unobstructed lakefront view. The roof of the cabin extends over the patio for use in any weather. The vaulted ceilings and sliding glass door leads to the patio and a walkway between the grassy play area and the dock. The kitchen is loaded with all of the appliances you would reasonably expect in a kitchen with a large central counter for dining.
There are numerous Adirondack chairs and outdoor furnishings. This is the perfect atmosphere for relaxing anytime with lake ducks, a plethora of wild birds and raptors frequenting the moderate climate of the area. From the dock you can enjoy year-around trout fishing which has yielded many Cutthroat and Rainbow trout in the 1 - 4 pound range.
The cabin offers much in the way of beauty. The summer sun warms the 900 square foot boat dock. In winter, storms and windy days are an enjoyable time to relax inside the cozy cabin.
