Spring Break In Tahoe!
Spring Break In Tahoe!

I had my wedding in Tahoe and wanted a place that would accommodate my wedding group for the week. The Manzanita Lodge was the most reasonably priced that would hold such a large group. The rooms were cozy and the meeting lodge was a great place for everyone to get together and hangout. The staff was very nice and helpful whenever we had questions or needed anything. The lodge was in a great centralized location too. We had a blast!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Manzanita Lodge with 13 couples and 22 kids. The main lodge/common area has been remodeled, with a large kitchen and is in great condition. We were able to socialize, watch movies on the large screen projector and cook for potluck dinners. The kids were able to play and sled safetly outside, the bbq and hot tub were used extensively and each room was clean and well maintained. If you have a large group of people, this is the place to stay. Great location-near restaurants, grocery stores, casinos and slopes. We will definately be back. Our only recommendation is to book early so you get the weekend you want.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We've been lucky enough to be visiting the Manzanita Lodge for the last 5 or 6 years for an annual reunion trip. The lodge is always wonderful and perfect for a group. We love being able to get everyone together in the main area for meals (easy to cook in the double kitchen) and visiting, and it's great to be able to head back to our own rooms when we're tuckered out for the day. A Big Thanks to the owners for maintaining a wonderful group location for people to enjoy!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Welcome to our guest book. Please use this like you would the E-bay comments. Our reputation is high and growing, and 50-65% of our guests are repeats or referred by happy groups that have stayed with us before. For our new guests, we'd like to offer an unedited comments list to help them be confident of staying with us for the first time. Let us know how you liked the place, and of course, any comments for improvement in the future. Looking forward to seeing you having fun in one of God's most lovely places on earth. About the owner: Our Family Loves This Place and we hope you do too. 25 years ago we turned these old buildings on acerage into a Large Group Vacation Rental like the vintage Tahoe Lodge only the wealthy could use for their festive parties hospitality and events when they invited their distinguished guests to classic gatherings. In 1988 after our own 110 person family reunion 'disaster' in Tampa Florida sleeping on floors and hallways, we DESIGNED a large group accommodation property so everyone in a family or other event could stay together have plenty of room to gather cook play talk reminisce have a home base for all activities on property or in Lake Tahoe CA or NV. We realized anyone would be able to cut down driving and organization time, reduce scheduling coordination arrangement meeting rendezvous problems to none and allow for much more time being together rather than in the chaos tension and disagreements of organizing and deciding friction and grumbling we saw ruin our reunion. Enough room to spread out for private quiet and active sports play barbecue outdoor hanging out in grassy sun or under tall pines and cedars. This is the place people are MORE than satisfied with , get more than they expected and finally get what a group needs for a get away in the mountains. So we decided to just go for it. And people love it.
Why the Owner Chose Gardner Mountain:
This is one stop shop. Everything is here by design for your group, with no distractions as with the commercial side of town. Many groups say they only did a fraction of their planned side activities (casinos, shows, restaurants, sightseeing, wine tasting, etc.) since staying together ON property was so much more enjoyable and supported building the closeness they wanted as a main goal of the trip. It WORKS!
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
We are at the Nature End of Tahoe, 5 minute walk or 1 minute bike ride from all Tahoe has to offer--spectacular wilderness, best lake beaches, Camp Richardson Resort with all lakefront activities, equipment rentals, and bar/restaurant, paved bike trail going around much of the lake and town, Emerald Bay 8 miles away--on and on! Yet almost everything in Tahoe is within a 5-15 minute drive--from skiing to casino corridor. We are 1st to be snowplowed so you're not stuck for hours unable to get out to do your plans. You have easy access to all, but are still far enough away from the commercialized distractions (casino corridor, lots of entertainment, bars, shopping etc.) that our group tell us their event was the best ever. Family reunions, business and religious organizations, clubs and family weddings all love this place and its functionality---it was DESIGNED just for groups!
