This property is really offered and managed by a local realty company, not the Owner. My family and I spent a week at this home and we loved the location and the floor plan and the back deck. The ocean views from the deck and the family room are fantastic. The cable rails on the deck are great and allow for the best views ever. The floor plan offers privacy for separate families in the bedroom areas and the family room TV and furniture are very nice. The kitchen is fully stocked with almost anything needed to cook and serve a meal. The beach is very nice and wide and great for playing, walking and just relaxing. The home is not kept clean and well maintained tough. When we arrived we noticed that the hot tub cover was covered in dirt and sand and was basically smashed to pieces. The tub was full of tiny pieces of foam insulation from the smashed hot tub cover and the water level was below the jets. It was so bad that we could not use it. I asked the realty company to address the hot tub situation and they were of no help. It was their opinion that the tub was fine and was in usable condition. There was a white painted rocking chair on the deck that had one leg so badly rotted out that it was not safe to sit in. Many other pieces of deck furniture were in poor condition and dirty. There was a picnic table that was broken and leaning badly and was also unusable. The outdoor shower area was dirty and rotted out and falling apart. The lower deck was also covered in sand so there was no place to wash your feet off before going into the house. There were several windows and doors that did not work properly and several screens that were torn out. Some of the bedroom TV's did not work either because they were broken. This property has fantastic views, great beach access and a really nice family room and deck but our stay would have been much more enjoyable if the property was clean and well maintained as advertised.Owner response: All issues noted in this review have been corrected. The hot tub cover was replaced shortly after the date of this comment; the rocking chair was put in the trash. New deck furniture was purchased in 2011 and again in 2012. The picnic table, which had been damaged by the machine which removed sand from the deck area after a storm, was replaced. Sand is shoveled on a regular basis and after every large storm. New screens and window cranks were added in autumn 2011 and spring 2012. All TVs were replaced in 2011 and 2012. We do the best we can to keep our property as we would wish to find it if we were renting it ourselves. It is our hope that our guests will find the Cavalier a clean, comfortable, and welcoming site for the perfect vacation.
