Our custom built family vacation home is set on a hilltop at the end of a private drive with sweeping views of farmland, distant mountains and Caspian Lake. A 5-minute walk down the dirt drive brings you to the Highland Lodge, renowned for delicious country meals. Another 5-minute walk past the Lodge tennis court (available for a small fee) leads you along a nature trail to the beautiful private Lodge beach, where our renters can enjoy access to a pristine lake with a sandy beach, boats, beach chairs, a dock and changing house. Sailboats, kayaks, canoes and loons far outnumber motorboats on this unusually tranquil lake. The beach has ample parking if you prefer to drive.
The house has 6 bedrooms and 3 full baths and comfortably sleeps 10-13. Two bedrooms and a full bath are on the first floor. A sunny open-concept kitchen and dining area (the table expands to seat 14) opens onto a spacious deck with fabulous views. The bright and airy living room boasts a Steinway Grand piano, a woodstove and windows on all sides.
The town of Greensboro has a vibrant summer community with a family-friendly golf and tennis club open to guests. Willey’s famous General Store, artisan cheese makers, Sunday evening lake concerts, organic farmsteads offering fresh produce, the Barr Hill Nature Preserve, The Craftsbury Chamber Music Series and Circus Smirkus are just some of the many attractions that draw people to this area year after year.

We used this house as a home base for a wedding and it was amazing! It is both cozy and spacious and has great kitchen, dining and bedrooms. We loved the privacy, the views of the lake and the access to the water at the super-cool Highland Lodge beach and boathouse. Another major plus is the Lodge itself, which we used for overflow accommodations and lots of fine dining. Our week at this house was truly charmed. Even our local guests raved about the location! Great, well-equipped house with a fantastic sense of space - peace and quiet with loads to do, especially with young kids - would definitely recommend the house to anyone if you want to get away from it all in an area of true beauty .....Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
