Me and my fiance stayed here July 2nd-9th. We enjoyed every minute spent on the beautiful island of St. John, from the moment we arrived on St. John (Steve & Lisa, property managers) greeted us with warm smiles & we grabbed some drinks @ one of the local bars. They familiarized us with the island & even took us for a tour of the island showing us where everything was. We walked to St John Car Rental (stjohncarrental.com) from the condo & were able to explore the island at our ease (definitely rent a car for your duration) The condo was very nicely furnished, including wireless internet & gas grill (on a beautiful deck) I would highly recommend staying on this property as we had no complaints!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

who could ask for more?! We enjoyed everything from the view, your artwork, the well equipped kitchen – and most important – THE PORCH! I think we spent most of our time here just sitting on the porch doing absolutely nothing but watching the boats go by and the banaquits gobble sugar – we had a delightful time!

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed your condo in St. John! Thanks for all the personal touches….Our friends, the bride’s parents, joined us for a simple dinner on your great deck one night. Fabulous view, comfortable and well appointed place! Here for good friend’s daughter’s wedding at the Westin and then several days of R & R on our own….Nice of Steve & Lisa to take us to and from the ferry. Lovin’ every minute of it!

I am laying here on the hammock getting myself ready to get back to temps of 20°....! This is our 4th time here and every time it gets better! My husband and I stayed at La Mer in April 2009 for our 2nd anniversary. The reason for our delay in writing a review is because I was pregnant and have since been busy with an infant! We think back often to our perfect anniversary vacation spent in St. John. The villa was delightful and made 'staying in' as enjoyable as going out. Originally from NC, I knew we had picked the right place when we spoke with the courteous and accommodating owners, both from NC, before booking. We were able to book a 3 night stay because it was off season, however, once we arrived, we wished we had spent everyday here instead of several in St. Thomas! Though we did enjoy our accommodations there, as well. The caretakers were just as kind and welcoming as the owners. Steve met us at the ferry and took us to the property where we had a nice welcome bag waiting for us (his wife, Lisa, makes them). He showed us around and made sure we were all set before leaving. The location of La Mer worked well for us - away from the noise but close enough that we walked into Cruz Bay everyday (and I was 6 months pregnant). We didn't need a car but you might want one if you want to tour the island in its entirety - we took charming, open-air taxis to the beaches we wanted to see. The villa was just as gorgeous as the photos depicted and the view was fabulous! The property was very well-maintained and offered so many extras that we enjoyed while there (books, games, nice beach towels, a cooler, etc). We loved reading and having breakfast on the lanai - so peaceful. The bed and bath were very spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living room was a comfy retreat after a day of walking around the town. We enjoyed a swim in the shared pool and we even had it all to ourselves. The only problem we encountered were mosquitoes! However, it is a tropical Island and this is to be expected and no fault of the owners. As a bonus, the villa was set up with bug spray - how thoughtful! We hope to go back very soon and we truly do daydream about our time spent in St. John. We'll be staying at La Mer again, of course! My fabulous stay at La Mer

My husband and I stayed at Villa La Mer in June 2004. I found this rental while I was researching La Mer cream on line. We were greeted in the port by the caretaker and he drove us the short distance to the villa. Once we arrived, you could not help but nitice the breathtaking view! There was a basket with fresh fruit and wine to welcome us. The villa was excellent! Bright, clean, and cozy. There were towels to use, cooler out back, and beach chairs. The local supermarket is a short drive away, and we were able to stock the gally kitchen. The bbq on the porch was a perk, as we didnt always want to go out to dinner after a day at the beach. The views are breathtaking and there was a bird feeder to fill that attracted the local birds. Some evenings, we were greeted by the local geccos who would sneak in the house and crawl around the walls. Very cute! The only negative was when we stayed at the villa, they were preparing the new harbor, so construction would begin at 7am each day. Also, the roosters start at about 5am. Needless-to-say, your day began early, but it didnt really matter as you were in one of the most beautiful spots in the world! I highly recommend staying at La Mer. The location is convenient and you can easily walk to town. Very clean, very nice, and I would definately go back! We are actually planning on going back within the year. Paola
