Relax on the wide, wraparound deck while you enjoy your morning beverage or watch the tide ebb and flow while you enjoy cocktails while the sun sets. The large open living and dining areas that open onto the deck, allow groups to enjoy each others company while three bedrooms (two with TVs) allow privacy and quiet away from the main living area. Enjoy a fire in the large fireplace on those cool evenings.
The very well appointed kitchen allows you prepare meals to enjoy at home. A BBQ using the grill on the deck is also a fine way to wrap up a busy day of relaxing.
Take a relaxing stroll down to the Dolphin Marina or bike to either Pott’s or Stover’s points to stroll along the beach while you search for treasures from Casco Bay. Drop your kayak or canoe in the cove at the bottom of the stairs and paddle your way into the bay.
We are located only 15 minutes from Brunswick with its fine restaurants and only 30 minutes from Freeport and its many shops as well as the world famous L.L. Bean. Portland and its famous Old Port, restaurants and activities are only 45 minutes away.

Wonderfully Relaxing Family Getaway

This past August, we came to the Harpswell Cottage for a family gathering/vacation, and absolutely loved it! There were 7 of us in total, my family of 4 (including teenagers), my retired parents from Florida, and my brother from Boston. It was a perfect place for all of us to get together, relax and reconnect. The view out of the back was amazing, looking out on the water/cove. Didn't even have to go out to the deck to enjoy the view, although the wrap deck was definitely a plus when we BBQ'd and had a relaxing dinner, overlooking the water, just nearing sunset. The cottage is everything this website details and more! We had plenty of room for all of us, and simply enjoyed the homey, relaxing, atmosphere the cottage itself exudes. Just like home away from home. Had everything we could possibly need, including a good selection of books and movies, which was a pleasant surprise. There was even laundry facilities, for those of you who need (not me, but mom was happy!). We took a leisurely walk down the road to the Dolphin Marina, and watched the boats come in and out, and even took our kite and flew it out off the point. So beautiful! We enjoyed several of the nearby resturants and some local fresh Maine lobsters. Of course, we had to do some sightseeing, so we took the short ride to Freeport and checked out the Maine Desert, which was very cool (as per my young teenagers) and unexpected for this area of the country. While in Freeport, we made our way to the outlet stores for some shopping. We just love LL Bean! None of us had ever been to Maine before and just found everything we encountered simple, natural beauty. The weather was great, as well, with the warm days and cool nights. Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful stay, and plan to come back for another enjoyable, relaxing, family vacation.
