Welcome to Les and Teri's 'AquaDream'!
Located in a primarily residential area, Crescent Beach is know for its wide, white sandy beaches. Because of the area's relatively low population density, the beach is always clean, never crowded, and peaceful. Simply open the gate (or step around it) and you're on the beach. There are no long walk-overs here. It's a very unique property!
The Crescent Sandpiper Condo Association has just completed a $3.6M rebuilding project and the complex is now the gem of the beach. Many international visitors have discovered this quiet paradise and enjoy the stunning sunrises on the beach and sunsets on the intracoastal from the community balcony. Our completely rebuilt unit, AquaDream, shines. Enjoy the view of the ocean, sounds of the surf, easy sea breezes, and very comfortable accommodations.
We spend our winters here (Nov - Apr) and will be making our beach home available approximately 10 weeks per year during our absence. Once those weeks are reserved, the calendar will be closed. The reason for this is simple: We want to maintain the quality and comfort of our beach front home for ourselves and our select guests.
We're looking for couples who can appreciate, enjoy, and know how to care for a beautiful residence. We have not stripped this unit. You will enjoy its full amenities just as we do: Comfortable furnishings, original art, decorator accents, Crate & Barrel china, Bosch dishwasher, fine linens, pool lounge chair covers, 6' jetted tub, just to name a few. Only our personal belongings have been secured in the owner's room (2nd bedroom).
NOTE: This unit is not the right choice for college students, Spring Breakers, Family Reunion Members, Party People, or Rowdies! The property will be monitored and, if necessary, offenders will not be allowed to remain. Guests will need to provide photos of their driver's license and auto registration before reservations are confirmed.
In general, it's our idea to offer you a sort of "time share" without the buy-in, monthly payments, or a locked-in week. Ultimately, we'd like to identify 6 to 10 couples who would enjoy visiting the beach periodically during the summer and can appreciate the quality of their surroundings. Why the Owner Chose Crescent Beach
AquaDream is the realization of years of searching for just the right winter home. From North Myrtle Beach, St. Simon's Island, to Cape Canaveral, we looked for an "old fashioned" community but with all the modern amenities.
Crescent Sandpiper, originally built in the '60s, sits on a high dune. From our living room sofa, we can see the surf, watch for dolphins, and enjoy the beautiful morning sunrises. This complex could not be duplicated today, because of all the changes in the building site regulations. As a result, we have no long dune boardwalks!
When we first saw the complex and our unit, both were in a very sorry state. The complex was run down. The tennis courts were hardly usable and from the landscaping to the pool furniture, all was neglected and in disrepair. Our unit was no better. Doors missing from the kitchen cabinets, holes in the drywall, electrical system not working, bathrooms ... well, you get the picture. But, the location, complex elevation, and bones of the unit -- perfect.
A call to the association president revealed that a total renovation was planned. "How 'total'," we inquired. "From a new roof to the underground sewer lines," was his reply. It took about a year and a half for the complex renovation; our unit took almost as long.
Now, AquaDream is our winter home and we love it. Furnishing and artwork have been chosen with care. Our local contractor and our decorator have added those little touches that make for a comfortable home. We're particular about housekeeping, too, and our personal housekeeper will be maintaining the unit during our absence. And, yes, she will receive the entire departure fee :)
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
The key element that 'sealed the deal' for us, in addition the all of the above, was access.
The complex is only minutes from St. Augustine, plenty of golf courses, grocery and drug stores, and even a bicycle rental shop that will deliver beach bikes to your front door!
Also, we've prepared a local guest book that is full of "insider" information about the area: What's worth seeing, the best golf courses, the really great restaurants, which tour train to use, that kind of thing. You won't spend years learning your way around the area. It will all be in a book for you! And, during your visit we hope you'll add your experiences, too.
You'll park literally steps from your front door (think groceries!) From your patio overlooking the ocean, it's 7 steps to the pool gate, and once through the pool area, it's 3 steps onto sand. No kidding!
There is a wonderful onsite property manager. Our grounds keeper has brought out a polish and shine to this complex that is the best of the beach.

DIRECTIONS: From I-95, take Rt.206 exit, and turn east (toward the ocean). Proceed 6 miles to the 'T' intersection of Rt.206 and A1A. Turn right. We're 2 miles south on the left ... "can't miss it!"
--OUR STORY --During our 35 years of marriage, we've almost always spent our vacations on the Atlantic Ocean. Being from Illinois, we tried Lake of the Ozarks, and then branched out to the Gulf of Mexico, and even ventured out to the Pacific Ocean a time or two. But, we always returned to the Atlantic -- perhaps it's because we're both of Irish descent and are being called to the sea.
While we began with hotels & motels, we quickly moved to private rentals for our vacations. In those pre-VRBO days we got ourselves into some real surprises! Oh, my! The stories we could tell! Some were disasters, other only marginally better. With VRBO, our information greatly improved. We'd find a unit the first or second try, and return to it each year. However, as each location became crowded and over-developed, we'd move locations and begin our search again.
Now, with the complex renovations complete and our unit finished, it's our turn to offer our home to you. We've tried to describe the location, complex, and unit as accurately as possible.
