Get away to a small quaint town on a huge lake. Clarksville has shops, restaurants, state parks, boat rentals, hiking, fishing and other water sports.
This rental house is in a large lake subdivision just minutes from town amenities and a semi private golf course. The subdivision has a private air strip for people arriving by plane. There are walking trails, miles of quiet, low traffic roads for walking, running and biking, and tennis courts.
The house is huge at almost 5,000 square feet with numerous bedrooms and baths (every bedroom has private bath), 2 kitchens, and 2 laundry areas. There are high ceilings, wood and tile floors, granite counters and stainless steel appliances, skylights, fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, porches, decks, balconies, patios, fence, in-ground pool, and a large hot tub on a deck.
There is a beautiful lake view in the back yard and a private boat dock for sunbathing, swimming or boat docking. Level walk to dock with deep water. See eagles, herons, ducks, geese, squirrels, foxes and deer right from the yard or beach.
This lake is huge with 50,000 acres of water and 800 miles of shoreline and is not built up with tons of houses or businesses. When boating, you will be amazed at how many trees on the shoreline you see and how few boats and noisy jet skis you encounter. Although there are no water craft restrictions on this lake, it is so huge, everyone is spread out and it is not congested. Buggs Island/Kerr Lake is a great fishing lake and there are often tournaments here.
Clarksville is only about 1 hour north of Durham, NC, 1 hour, 45 minutes south of Richmond, VA, and 3 to 3.5 hours south of Northern VA/DC area.
The third weekend in July is Lakefest where hundreds of vendors sell their items at a sidewalk sale in town, there are helicopter and hot air balloon rides, bands and cookouts, children's events, fireworks, etc. Take advantage of ending or starting your vacation on July 18 to enjoy the festivities in town that weekend.

Why the Owner Chose Clarksville
Clarksville is a small, quaint town with friendly people and a quiet atmosphere. Buggs Island Lake is huge but never crowded and there is much nature and wild life to see. All water sports are welcome on this vast lake and there is something for everyone. It's a wonderful escape from the hussle and bustle of everyday life.
