Just half a mile from the beautifully kept, historic village of Stonington, with its lovely sandy beach only a half mile further on, from this recently renovated cottage you can look out across the small road to a quiet backwater cove with marshy areas excellent for bird watching.
Freshly decorated with white walls, attractive furnishings, nautical prints and hardwood floors, the house provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The back garden is mostly enclosed by stackade fencing and hedges and is a quiet haven for sitting on the deck. Just at the end of the road is a marina from where you may rent small boats for plying the local waters, to larger boats for trips across Long Island Sound.
The village of Stonington has sulperb shops, restaurants and art galleries and you can stroll among the well-restored sea captains' homes on your way to the public sandy beach. Just north of the village begins the Connecticut Wine Trail with the winery at North Stonington. Four miles west is Mystic village, home of The Mystic Seaport. |
