Our cabin is located in South Lake Tahoe. A darling little cabin that is clean, comfortable and cozy! This property is a block from the bike/hike trail and if you dare to be adventurous, you can take a picnic lunch through a scenic meadow and to the lake. This is less than a mile walk. (wear water shoes, the streams run through the meadow). Once you get to the lake, you will have a virtually private Lake Tahoe experience.
Once you settle into your new 'home away from home' enjoy all of the comforts of your own place. The cabin is stocked with all of the amenities and is a place to have a quiet honeymoon weekend or family reunion. Three families have put their favorite touches into a special place that is both affordable and centrally located. We would love to share our Tahoe Cabin with you year after year. Special financial accommodations will be made for returning families or singles!
We have also found Camp Richardson to be a great place during the summers at Tahoe. This is a short drive from the cabin (5 miles) and you can rent bikes and ride on safe and clean bike trails through panoramic meadows. Also in Camp Richardson is the best ice-cream shop around and horse rentals. Winter there is cross country rentals on the same meadows.
If you want the lake experience, Pope Beach is a few minutes drive and has white sand and shorline access. Safe and great for the kids!
If you are seeking night life, then this is the place to come! Harrah's, Harvey's to name a few sit on the California, Nevada stateline (5 miles away). There are dozens of restaurants, clubs and the nightlife of casino's including a gamblers delights. Come and try your luck.
Lastly, our Lake Tahoe Cabin is a place to relax. Come up and spend a day a week or longer. We will accommodate those special requests. We have some renters planning their vows on our backyard greenbelt. Lake Tahoe is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Why the Owner Chose Highland Woods
Our lovely Lake Tahoe Cabin is a wonderful, cozy, clean and centrally located place to get away. The parking spaces (2) are right in front for a car or boat. We love Lake Tahoe in all seasons! The backyard of this cabin sits on a lovely tree lined greenbelt. Walking, hiking and biking and a large selection of ski resorts are close by. Tahoe Keys Marina is a signal light away where you could launch your boat. Our family enjoys hiking and swimming in the lake during summer and skiing at Sierra at Tahoe in the winter. Heavenly is about 3 miles from the base.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The back deck and yard of the cabin is a fantastic place for singles or families. During Summer there is trimmed grass and a great place for a BBQ, volleyball, croquet or sitting out and enjoying a cup of coffee or cold drink. Winter the back turns into your own private snow park! Our children have enjoyed snow forts, building snowmen and sledding down the small piles of packed snow! The cabin is about 1400 sq. ft, and all furnishings are new! There is wireless broadband and Fast DSL, cable in the rooms. Board games and puzzles included. Book with us once and make our cabin part of your annual family memories. Renewing families will be given special pricing each year and first choice of priority booking dates.

Our cabin was bought by three families as a place to come year after year, allowing us to build precious memories. We are all neighbors and good friends, and live on the same block. Between our three families we have 11 children of various ages, our kids have grown up together. We have enjoyed furnishing the cabin as a group and love making our family memories and personal touches alive in our cabin, treasuring this place as a home away from home.

Great location. Comfortable beds. Strong showers. The cabin is well maintained. Lots of green space off the rear deck. Deck is also a great space for a.m. coffee/p.m. beverages. The owners are easy to deal with and prompt returning communications (emails in my case).

Stayed for a week in August 2011, family of 2 adults/2 teens. Great central location in SLT, but very quiet and uncrowded. Clean and roomy. All the amenities were just as described, including unmentioned extras, like inner tubes for the lake, beach chairs, plenty of every type of kitchen tool and staples for cooking, super-soft towels, plentiful cleaning supplies, many movies and board games. Just wish we'd brought enough bikes for all of us since it would have been very easy to bike in either direction from here every day, saving gas. Everything went perfectly smoothly with the owners from my very first email contact (and many questions) to the timely return of my deposit. I highly recommend staying in this cabin.

Our family has stayed here several times and it is even nicer than the picutres show. It decor is very classy and comfortable and the cabin is spotless. Its a perfect cabin for families, and the 3 bedrooms and sleeper sofa allow for privacy as well. You walk in and immediately feel like its a home away from home. You could never find a hotel suite or another rental that is this quality at the same price. The location really is quiet and even though its in a neighborhood, you hardly notice neighbors. There is a big green meadow in the back, right off the deck. Its about 2 blocks from a huge open space meadow that has trails and creeks. That is a great place for walks or runs or viewing wildlife-summer or winter. The beaches and shopping are within minutes, but you feel like you're away from it all at the cabin. We've stayed at some nice places in Tahoe (Marriot and Squaw Valley) and this is by far the best deal for the $. I've stayed at many VRBO properties on vacations and spend hours researching (my husband will tell you its true) to make sure we're getting the best property for the $. You don't need to spend as much time as me doing research-this is a great find. Thank you to the owners who have made it available! Enjoy.

Made it to Tahoe for a long weekend getaway with a group of long time friends! This cabin was close to everything but off the main drag! Was quiet and relaxing! Great outdoor deck for your morning coffee or evening cocktail! Backs up to greenbelt! Cozy cabin with plenty of room for large groups. Can't wait to go again!
