Eagles Nest Hideaway is a dream cabin for your trip to the mountains. My expectations were very high based on all of the previous reviews, but they were exceeded even so. The view is spectacular and everything about the cabin is luxurious. The hot tub was so wonderful to soak in under the stars. We were able to stay for 10 nights which was good because we could not bring ourselves to leave the first four days! When we did finally venture out we went white water rafting with the NOC which is located at the bottom of the mountain from the cabin. Bryson City was very enjoyable to stroll around and hiking the deep creek trail was also a highlight. This was a vacation to cherish and we plan on returning in the future.Thank you to the owners for going above and beyond with all they provide their guests.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This is our second time at Eagles Nest Hideaway. Me, my husband, and our 3 young children had the best time. When we got to the cabin, it was still so familiar, it felt like home. Everything you need is on hand and it has all the comforts of your own home. We went hiking at some new places and some familiar places. We loved the spectacular, expansive view (especially in the early morning hours), the privacy of the hot tub, the kitchen (well-stocked with all kitchen appliances and accessories), and the WONDERFUL king-size bed. The kids loved playing Wii, the hot tub and the pool table. My son loved sleeping in the window seat and made sure that was his bed this time around also. We plan on going back again, we wouldn't want to spend our vacation in the mountains at any other cabin -- we are hooked!! Thank you Stuart for making sure your guests have everything they need to make their vacation EASY!! I hope to talk to you soon about staying there again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We stayed at this cabin on our honeymoon, and it was amazing. The view was amazing, everything in the cabin was amazing. It was stocked with everything we could think of. We loved the fact that the cabin was at the top, and no one was near us. The road to the cabin is very curvy. I suggest looking at this cabin via Google Maps...look at the road to the cabin. This helped us a ton. I had no problem finding the cabin, but if I had not looked at the maps, I think I may have had a little trouble. Anyway, this cabin was awesome. I searched and searched for a honeymoon cabin and tried to find the BEST LONG RANGE views and this is the cabin! Don't look anywhere else!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed here for four great days. The cabin could not have been better had everything you need to just enjoy and have fun. The view was spectacular and privacy was a big plus. We went walking all over the smoky mountain park then back to the hot tub for a night full of stars. the large tub on second floor next to the 20' glass wall was a nice place to share a glass of wine with your bath.We will be back in the spring to see the leaves and flowers. The pictures of the cabin are nice but you have to be there to see how nice it really is. We travel a lot and use VRBO. all the time and this has been one of the best.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My wife and I stayed at Eagles Nest Bryson City for two nights December 21st-23rd. Let me tell you that this cabin is perfect in every way. Sturart and his wife have thought of everything when it comes to their cabins. We have stayed at both Eagles Nests that they own and both are perfect in their own ways. Eagles Nest Bryson City has panoramic views of both distant mountains as well as up close and personal ones. We took advantage of both the indoor jacuzzi and the outdoor. Each has a perfect view of the mountains. The outdoor firepit was perfect for making smores and staying warm outdoors. The kitchen was stocked with everything that you could possible need to cook and the gas grill is easy to use and comes in handy. The location of the cabin couldnt be better. The road that takes you to your cabin is literally right across the street from the NOC where you can go rafting in the summer or hiking in the winter. Rivers End restraunt is right there as well. They have some great craft beers on tap from local breweries. Bryson city is only about 20-25 minutes away which is perfect. We are already planning our next trip back to the cabin. Thanks again Stuart for letting us stay in your wonderful home. This was my first time using the VRBO.com website to find a place to stay. I was very pleased! We stayed the weekend of December 7, 2012. We arrived to a "Dream Vacation" cabin. I was in shock at how nice the cabin was. There was even a Christmas tree lit up, with a personal message from the management company to greet us upon arrival. The cabin is nearly at the top of the mountain. I believe it was actually the last cabin built on the main road, which meant for a very private and quite weekend. The cabin had Satellite TV, WIFI internet, lots of games for the kids, books about the area to read and the kitchen had every utensil you could ever need. It was truly like being at home. While there in Bryson City, My family and I rode the Polar Express train (I highly recommend). We were lucky enough to time things just right and also experience the Bryson City Christmas parade. I would recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a very nice and cozy place to stay, that happens to have one of the best views in Bryson City.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

This was our first experience staying up in NC in other than a hotel. NO MORE HOTELS. Our stay was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable trip we have made. the owners have comfortably furnished and outfitted the home to make you feel right at home. you have everything at your disposal to cook gourmet meals in a well equipped kitchen or grill hot dogs on the grill or over an open fire. The home is very well maintained, very clean, and is truly a luxury retreat in a phenomenal private location. its proximity to the Nantahala outdoor center gives you easy access to numerous outdoor activities and restaurants. the photos of the home are very nice but still dont do justice to the beauty of the property. The remarkable view is every changing as early morning and evening low fog patterns roll into the valleys below. We will most definitely return.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Eagle's Nest Hideaway is one of the best cabins that my husband and I have ever rented! The cabin is beautiful and well-appointed. The kitchen is so well-stocked - it had everything we needed and more. The master bed was so comfortable and I loved the duvet - perfect for cool mountain nights. The hot tub was a welcome respite after hiking and sightseeing. We loved the privacy of the location and the view is spectacular! We spent a lot of time just relaxing and looking out at the moutains and reading. It is obvious that Stuart and Melody put their heart and soul into planning this retreat. It has everything we were looking for and more. Look forward to going back someday.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Yes Heaven on Earth is a perfect description. We try to provide everything a guest needs so they want for nothing. We also try to offer a number of suggestions based on the guests interests so they thoroughly enjoy their mountain experience. We are so happy we could offer a special place for people to have a special time and create a memory they will not forget. Thank you Stuart & Melody

My kids and myself have been going to the Smokey Mountains for the past 5 yrs now, and having spent time at Eagles Nest was by far the most beautiful view ever... the cabin makes you feel like you are in your own home, the kids had a blast upstairs and loved the cabin as much as myself. The master king bed is like sleeping in the clouds. So peaceful and secluded, couldnt have asked for anything better. Stuart was extremely kind telling us places to visit, which we did ! The trout fishing was a hit with the kids, the waterfalls and river were beautiful!! We also went horseback riding at Lonesome Dove, real sweet people and Outfitters White Water Rafting was the most fun ever. This was the best vacation to the Smokeys Ever thanks to Mel and Stuart for being so kind and letting us stay at their wonderful home!! We will look forward to returning next yr!! Thanks again for giving us the chance to make wonderful family memories!!! Owner response: When we looked for land to build our cabin we wanted to offer several important features. First and foremost was a spectacular year round view followed closely by total privacy and and seclusion as well as being close to all the great outdoor activities. We have accomplished that with Eagles Nest Hideaway. Being just 10 minutes up the mountain from the Nantahala Outdoor Center proved to be a a great choice. We built a very spacious cabin with all the comforts of home and a wide array of fantastic amenities and beautiful rustic furnishings. By doing this we achieved our ultimate goal which was to have our customers come up and create everlasting memories. Reading all our great reviews, hearing from customers and receiving lots of great pictures makes Melody and I so happy. Come and visit us to create your own everlasting memories. Stuart & Melody

About the owner: My wife and I lived in Florida for 20 years and now reside in Murphy North Carolina. I am from New Jersey originally and Melody from Pensacola Florida. I spent the past 25 years in the health club business and my wife in radio advertising. We now own a sports jewelry business called Milestones Sports Jewelry as well as our vacation rentals. We love the peaceful surroundings and the slower pace of the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. Stuart & Melody Tabman
Why the Owner Chose Bryson City:
We started visiting the mountains of North Carolina in the early 90’s and fell in love with the area. We got hooked on rafting the local rivers and hiking the endless trails. Thus began a search for the perfect property. We wanted enough acreage to have privacy and seclusion, a spectacular view and yet still be close enough to all the action and adventure. We found Eagles Nest in 2002, then designed and built the 2400 square foot cabin in 2004.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
One of our greatest joys is to read the comments about the special vacations and memories people have created at the cabin. Whether it’s a romantic vacation, an anniversary, a family vacation or friends having fun our customers have experienced it all. The peaceful surroundings make Eagles Nest a great place to just talk and reconnect. As one customer wrote “We found the time to have long talks and to talk about nothing! It's as if the view inspired us”.
We hope you enjoy all the area has to offer and keep coming back for new adventures in the mountains.
