My husband and I rented this apartment for one month in spring 2012 and could not have been more pleased. The owner was a pleasure to deal with - the apt. was described accurately, instructions were clear and emails were answered promptly. The kitchen functioned well, as did the bathroom (although it is tiny). The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of closet space, and the blackout curtains were appreciated. The apt. had more than we needed - coffee pot, hair dryer, iron & board, etc. the wifi worked perfectly. Two of my sisters joined us for a week and slept on the pull-out sofa bed. They used the extra mattress provided and were quite comfortable. (If light wakens you, bring your eye mask! No blackout curtain in the living room.) We left the bed pulled out, and still had room for all 4 of us around the dining table. (With children, or only one extra person, I would suggest just making a pallet on the floor in the corner.) The nearby market on Wednesdays and Sundays was great... Lots of prepared items helped to make meals at home easy. The nearby supermarket had cheap wine and. chocolate (Côte d'Or). Our favorite shop was the cheese store at #1 Rue Desaix - so friendly and helpful. Having the metro station less than a 5 minute walk away was great! So much was within a short walk. Especially nice is a late-evening walk down the island to the "mini" Statue of Liberty, and then walking back looking at the Eiffel Tower. I whole-heatedly recommend this apartment.

I was here with my mother for three nights. Overall it was lovely. Lucky for us, we read the other reviews which mention essential things - the most essential being the extra mattress in the closet for the sofa bed. While the bedroom is perfect, the sleeping conditions in the living room are not ideal - the curtains don't block out light, and the sofa bed is not in great shape. The other problem for us - we received information on how to get in (the entry codes, etc.) quite late - to be precise, the night before we left. That was unfortunately stressful for us. That being said, everything was clean, the apartment is charming, and if you are planning on just needing the bedroom, you will be quite content.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids stayed here middle of July this year for 5 nights. Here are a few reasons our stay experience was excellent. - First the owner,France-Dominique Louie, is extremely helpful. This was our first experience renting a property via VRBO. Louie was very gracious and patiently answered many questions. She was available via both phone and email and ensured we felt comfortable renting. - The location is very convenient. It is walking distance to Eiffel tower, Trocadero etc. It is also very well connected to the paris's Metro system via Bir Hakeim metro station. - It is in a safe neighborhood and we felt comfortable going out and coming in late in the night. - The apartment itself is quite functional. It had enough room for our family. Kitchen has the necessary pots and pans for cooking a quick meal. There are a couple of grocery stoes nearby and we saved both Money and time by cooking some meals at home - especially breakfasts. - The apartment has WI-FI and free calling to many countries. It made it easy to keep in touch with family and friends back home and also research next day's activities. - The apartment was reasonably priced for its location. Overall our family had a good time in Paris and our staying at this apartment was an important part of the reason. We will highly recommend this and hope to be back sometime!

I stayed in this apartment in June 2011 for approx 10 days. We were in 3 and the apartment was perfect!! The metro is really close and the apartment has all that one needs to enjoy a great stay in Paris. We were in a group of 10 people and I've visited all the apartments that my friends/family rented, ours was the best...AND by the Eiffel Tower!!!! I am already planning to go back to Paris and will definitely stay in the same apartment.

We're a family of four, it's our first trip to Paris. We're very happy with the apartment, it's enough space for the 4 of us. The descriptions and the photos of the apartment are all accurate. I'd like to thank France to rent her apartment to us and being so helpful. It's a great location, very close to shops, restaurants, metro and Eiffle tower. I would highly recommend this property to all my friends and families.

Situated on the Seine, and very close to both RER and Métro stations, this apartment is ideal for the visitor to Paris. The RER station is especially handy if you are coming into Paris from the airport; just one train change, and no hassling onto the smaller Metro trains with bulky luggage. I spent a week here during Roland Garros, and found the location perfect for both general tourist destinations and the tennis matches I had come to see. The Bir Hakeim Métro is a block away (well, 2 blocks, if you count the tiny one-block-long street you cross to get there) and of course, the Paris Metro can take you anywhere. For the intrepid visitor, the Bir Hakeim station even has a "Velib" (free bike) station behind it, wonderful for renting a bike and riding along the Seine and through the city! You can walk in minutes to the Eiffel Tower; it's maybe a half mile/1 km - in fact, it looms ahead on the street as you exit the apartment building. The apartment is clean, and since the windows do not face the street, it is nice and quiet. There's a roomy private bedroom with a big closet; plus, the living/dining room has a sofabed (with an extra mattress to make it quite comfortable -- as sometimes sofabeds themselves are not!) The bathroom is an amazingly perfect example of economical use of space! It's tiny but not cramped, and has that great Euro invention, the sliding clothes rack. I want one for my own bathroom! The shower has great water pressure and the hot water will last thru 2 showers. The kitchen is quite serviceable, with a 2-burner stovetop built into the counter, and a coffeemaker and a big fridge. I was easily able to fix breakfast every day, and prepare sandwiches when we were going somewhere we could take our own food. And, speaking of food, La Motte Piquet farmer's market on Wednesdays and Sundays is a great way to experience a very French grocery experience. Be sure to take the little shopping trolley from the apartment, it's great, and you'll need it! (2 subway stops or a 10 minute walk.) There is a small television in the living room; while normally this would not be essential during a stay in Paris, it was handy to view tennis matches we had missed each day. The VRBO listing description and photos were accurate. The owner speaks English and is only a phone call away if you have any questions. Make sure to find out how to access the wi-fi if you plan to use it; we didn't call right away, but it was so easy. I want to come back!
Owner response:I am happy Kathy and her friends got to enjoy Paris as they expected.

I spent five happy weeks in this apartment. It is very well located, close to metro and several useful bus routes. There are supermarkets near by and beautiful walks to many interesting sites. I also enjoyed exploring Beaugrenelle, the new neighbourhood to the west, and the Parc Andre Citroen. The apartment is comfortable and quiet, perfect for one or two, a bit of a squeeze for more. France-Dominique is endlessly helpful and kind and the concierge is a dear.
Owner response:Julie, reserved this apartment well in advance as she planned and organized her trip to be able to get the most out of it. We communicated a lot by email prior to her arrival and I tried to give her as much information as possible on Paris and the apartment. It was a real pleasure to have such a kind renter.

This is a charming little apartment that is conveniently located. It's very close to the Eiffel Tower but in the opposite direction so that you walk away from the tourist crowds but still have the charm of seeing the Tower each time you leave the apartment. Lovely Sunday street market. Good shopping and restaurants nearby. Rue de Commerce and rue de Lourmel are only a 10 minute walk away, less with the metro if you're feeling lazy, and are filled with shops, restaurants and all the food shops - bakeries, meats, cheeses, wines, etc. It's a very Parisian neighborhood without a lot of tourists. I spent the month of December in the apartment, which was warm and cozy with all of the amenities of home for when I wanted to stay in and the convenience of a very close metro station for when I wanted to go out and enjoy all that Paris has to offer.

Cet appartement est super et idéalement situé (à 5 minutes de la tour Eiffel et 3 minutes du Metro Bir Hakeim). Il est très calme et très bien équipé (parfait pour deux enfants et deux adultes). A refaire et à recommander. Christine

We have stayed in this apartment for about 28 days. The apartment is really neat, nice view. Very well located, only 02 minutes walk to the Bir Hakeim Metro and 03 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. We would definitely stay there again. Very nice landlady. Valerie

For our family of 4 the apt was perfect, well maintained, clean, quiet and located within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. It has a lift but we enjoyed taking the stairs. It is also conveniently located two blocks from the Bir Hakeim metro station. Leaving from this station you always see the Eiffel Tower. The apt. is in close proximity to neighborhood markets as well as Sunday's farmer market held between Bir Hakeim and Dupleix metro stops. We would definitely stay here again. We felt more "Parisian" for having a place to call our own during our stay.

I have rented this apartment twice. Is a lovely apartment and very well placed, just few meters from the Eiffel tower, and few meters from two metro stations, you can easily go anywhere in Paris from there... The apartment is small but comfortable, I have several friends living in Paris and I know quiet a few buildings, this is a quality apartment. Maybe a weak point is the view, the window of the living room is facing another building.I enjoyed staying there with my husband and his daughter. I wouldn’t recommended for more than 3 people, the kitchen and WC are both small but well equipped, WC very clean which is escencial for me. The building is old but renovated and extremely well maintained. I know I will stay there next time I go to Paris. Thanks France Dominique.
