This recently remodeled lakefront home in Lakehead, located next door to the "Castle" provides beds for 15 to include 4 bedrooms, (2 master suites), 4 baths plus a large sleeping loft. Two new 95% efficient HVAC systems plus a huge fireplace make this home quite comfortable for your family and guests.
This lakeside home includes a large wrap around deck providing wonderful view of the forest and lake (during most summers) with numerous bird feeders, deer and other wildlife that cross just below the deck almost daily. In addition to indoor dining the deck provides dining for all guests with a nice lawn and brick BBQ next to a private path down to the lake. The home is pet friendly with a fully wire fenced back yard.
Upstairs the home provides a nice game room with a full size slate pool table, indoor darts and many board/card games for the whole family. In addition there are numerous VCR and DVD movies for all.
Guests can launch their boats etc. just a short distance from the home and usually anchor these toys in our almost private cove just below the deck, again depending on the water height in the lake. The area provides wonderful opportunities for enjoying the lake whether it's boating, wakeboarding, fishing or exploring the areas many attractions such as Lake Shasta Caverns, Shasta Dam, Mt Shasta, and the surrounding small towns such as Mt. Shasta City, McCloud, Weed, Dunsmuir, Burney Lassen etc.
Many of these have world renowned fly fishing streams, hiking, shopping, antiquing, gold panning etc. From 15 min to an hour the Shasta area provides numerous waterfalls with brief off road walks to great hikes. We can provide information on many of these attractions to our guests.
Past guests have had a great time watching the area birds and it is common to have 30-50 birds in the trees and forest just behind the deck during most of each day. Within 20 ft of the deck we have an oak tree that is home to a family of 15 Acron Woodpeckers as well as a new family of Red Squirrels that just had babies in March. Last summer the female was often on the deck taking peanuts out of our hands. We can email photos of wildlife if you are interested as well as additional photos of the home or area.
