My extended family of 11 and our dog stayed at Scott and Lorrie’s home in July 2011. We were celebrating my Dad’s 75th birthday and my Mom’s 70th birthday. My Dad felt that it was a miracle that I found such a beautiful home to rent. The elegance and sophistication of this oceanfront home captured our attention from the moment we stepped inside. Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was provided and more! Much thought was put into decorating and supplying this condo - all ages will find things to do. A calm, relaxing, and peaceful atmosphere makes it a wonderful experience. Thank you so much Scott and Lorrie for opening up your home to others so they can make memories that they will cherish forever!

We had three generations staying at this lovely Nanoose Bay home, and we hope to go back there in the future. Well stocked kitchen, wonderful views, peaceful, nicely located neighbourhood. We explored the Island, visited nearby beaches, hiked and played mini-golf. It exceeded our expectations!
Owner response:Thanks so much for your lovely review Jennifer as it's terrific to hear that our efforts to ensure the place is as portayed, are not in vain. We're very happy you had a terrific vacation and perhaps we'll see you back.

We are headed to this home for our third summer in a row. The home has a stunning view of the water and an amazing deck to enjoy it! We have three small children and this home is perfect for our kids. We love the fact that you can walk to a private cove full of treasures. There is also a lovely grass area to play on. The kitchen is wonderful and the house is fully stocked with everything you would need for an enjoyable stay!! We plan on going back for many, many more summers.
Owner response:to Jessica and family; your words are very kind, thanks you. We are both happy and proud to have had you trust your vacation to us these past two summers then again this summer. Again, you are all welcome back any time.

A terrific place for our group. We cooked gourmet meals in the huge kitchen, we barbequed at sat on the very large deck looking over the islands out front and we relaxed. the home is well appointed wit hhigh-end finishings and the locale is quiet. We walked down to the beach every morning, had campfires there most evenings and spent many afternoons at Rathtrevor beach. The kids and Grandparents all adored the whole thing.

Thanks you Scott & Lorrie for sharing your home with us. it was perfect. Our group got together for the reunion and your house was perfect for meals and socializing. the Kitchen is amazing and we loved making meals while looking out over the ocean. We ate on the deck almost every meal but the one day when it was cooler and the dining area was still perfect for the group. The kids loved your beach and of course Rathtrevor Park and we loved the hike you recommended to the Englishman River Falls. our dog loved the beach, the deck and the neighborhood for lon walks. we found a great trail about minutes around the corner - Dolphin Lake - you should tell people about too. The adults grabbed the bedrooms and left the loft for the kids who loved having their own space and TV. Each evening they were either playing up there or in the Hot Tub (we listened to seals barking one evening). Thanks again, it was a wonderful trip made better by a wonderful place.

This is a beautiful home with wood trim and views over the ocean and beach below. Our family loved the massive deck for meals and our little one could ride the included trike around in a safe and flat area. The kitchen was huge and extremely well appointed, they even had the fridge stocked with condiments and lots of spices and the cooking items you don't always have on vacation. The hot tub was great! In the evening you sit under a massive fir and listen to the ocean come and go. The kids loved the beach for swimming and for exploring the crabs and starfish. This was our second stay and we'll be back next spring
Owner response:it was terrific to have your family enjoy our old home and now, new vacation rental. thanks so much for leaving the place so immaculate and you are very, very welcome to come back whenever you like. thanks also for the kind words!

The house is well fitted and comfortable however there were a few flaws. The microwave didn't work the whole 2 weeks we were there and there was a note left from the previous renters that it didn't work for them either. The internet didn't work when we arrived and we had to schedule 2 times to be in to get it fixed. This was noted by the previous owners as well. The toaster oven was disgusting so we went out and bought our own toaster. The beds were average. The king was OK but the queen in the blue room rolled to the center. OK for kids but not for adults. There was no phone when we arrived in fact it was disconnected and put in a cupboard. use most of the propane just trying to clean it. We did get this installed middle of the first week, so there is a phone now and the owner did say he got unlimited long distance in Canada and US. The barbeque was disgusting, we thought we would use most of the propane just trying to clean it.The fact that is disturbing is that it was listed in the contract as well as the microwave and internet and this is part of what we paid for. I rent houses all the time and this was a disappointment. The view of the ocean you see in the pictures is when there are no leaves on the trees. Summer view is totally different. When I go on vacation I don't need these hassels, I go on vacation to relax. The owner did promise a TV in the master bedroom and he did do this, but try 2 weeks with 2 kids and no microwave. I have used this site many time to book and always felt comfortable before but I did not get what I paid for.
Owner response:it's very dissapointing to hear this. Especially after over 20 extremely successful 'stays' in our 2 seasons and especially after all we did to accomodate your needs including adding an additional 32" flatscreen for your husband at not extra cost because that's what he likes. There was always a microwave and although no phone service was being provided in this world of cell phones, as soon as you said you needed one, we added one at no cost in as fast a time line as was possible. Yes the internet went down due some odd hardware issues even though it had worked fine on the previous stay, but even then, we had that fixed within 6 hours. The other comments are not worth addressing - we are very proud of the home and the comments we receive in our guest book. I hope you are well served in your future.
