  We have used VRBO before and was always pleased with locations, hosts and neighbourhoods, including a medieval village in Provence. Nothing, however, compares to this for all of the above. Irena, who greeted us in Bertrand's absence, was just so charming and thorough it felt personal. The deliberations with Bertrand were thorough, also personal, given my many questions, and friendly. So much for some Canadians view that Parisians are aloof!! We are seventy and we have only used two metro passes and none on the bus because we are able to walk everywhere we want to go, Centre Pompidou is just across the street, Hotel de Ville, the islands, le Carnavalet, and Picasso museums (when it reopens) an easy walk as well as Notre Dame which we revisited yesterday and dined on Ile St Louis. We leave for Avignon tomorrow and I am not ready to go. We both want to come back to this very place for a month. I love the cafes so close by where I can have my daily grand creme and croissant. Un enorme merci a Bertrand et Irena.

  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This apartment has a great location--walking distance to Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, the Louvre, the Marais, etc.--and steps away from the Metro. The space is small, but tidy and comfortable. There is an elevator, so no worries about long treks up the stairs. Despite proximity to the Pompidou Centre, it is quiet at night as it faces the rear courtyard. The Murphy bed and the fold-out couch are both very comfortable--each accommodating two people who don't necessarily want to sleep in the same bed! The kitchen is small but workable, especially for lighter meals like breakfast, and it was a great help to have the washer/dryer unit. Probably the worst feature is the bathroom, which is extremely tiny and has a door which is slightly translucent at night, meaning not much privacy from the rest of your party. On top of all the pluses, I found the owner to be very cordial, and the cleaning person we encountered the last day could not have been nicer. I highly recommend this place. It would be ideal for a couple to share, but it accommodated four of us more than adequately and it was an ideal base for exploring the city.

  An absolutely wonderful place to stay with all of the comforts of home! The quality of studio is excellent: new design, everything very comfortable size to accommodate us - 3 adult people. Location close to everything -- museums, wonderful restaurants, transit, and within walking distance to wherever you wanted to go. It was wonderful to return after a long day of being out and about sightseeing to the home-like comfort and quiet location of this well maintained and exceptionally clean flat. Kitchenette and laundry appliances were extremely useful. Also free Wi-Fi and phone are invaluable. Bertrand was exceptionally easy to work with, making the trip more enjoyable and reducing so many of the stressful details that are so common on trips. I really want to come back and I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

  We rented this apartment for my partner's mother while renting the main connecting apartment for me, my partner and 2 singles. This arrangement worked out better than we expected as we did not know upon booking that the two apartments had separate locking doors, but also shared a main outer hall door, allowing us to treat the studio as a separate bedroom unit, while allowing free access to the common rooms of the main apartment. Of course, should you rent just the studio, there is no need to concern about the shared foyer, as both apartments have fully functioning heavy locking doors and little or no sound travels between the units. One or two people could easily stay in this studio and have room to spare. The murphy bed was quite comfortable and easily large enough for two people. We left the bed down all week but it was quite easy to open and close should you desire. Windows allow plenty of light and, like the main apartment, have excellent blind system to allow air into the apartment even when closed for privacy, or, for full room darkening, they can be closed completely. This apartment had small washer/dryer combo unit and complete kitchen (except, I believe for lack of oven. However, an iron, board and hair dryer, along with refrigerator and freezer and plenty of dishes are provided. Our only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the freezer unit is above the fridge, making it difficult for our occupant to reach the freezer...but as she is quite short, that is no reflection on the apartment. The owner is by far the best owner I have ever dealt with and I would not hesitate to rent one of his units again, particularly as this is an excellent location with shops and transportation at your doorstep.
