I rented the cabin with 3 friends for a weekend getaway. We weren't looking for much beyond enough beds and a quiet place to relax. This cabin was the perfect solution. The space and rooms were comfortable and the ping pong table in the basement a bonus. Given its position on the lake (w/ dock) I could see coming back to it in the summer. Our dealings with the owner were very smooth. He provides us with area information as well as a map.
Owner response:Thanks for your positive feedback, the lake is a special place and never crowded, nice people like yourself help keep it that way.

This was everything that we hoped for when staying here! We stayed here in the middle of October with some friends and family and it was just beautiful. Right on the lake we enjoyed some canoeing and hiking as well as some golf down the road. Would reccomend to anyone looking for the "log cabin" experience. Looking forward to going back!

8 guys stayed here this past weekend. The game room was great and kept us occupied during a rainy day. The kayaks and canoes were great fun and the lake is really cool to explore with all the nice houses and boats to check out. I would definitely recommend this house for a boys weekend. Kevin (the owner) was very helpful and we had no problems.

My family stayed at this beautiful house for one week in August. The house has plenty of room, is nicely decorated and is very clean. We all enjoyed the lake, swimming, kayaking, fishing, late night camp fires and all the games in the basement. We will be back next summer.
Owner response:Thanks T, the lake is a very unique spot, nice and quiet with classy homes all around the lake. Glad you enjoyed your stay, please come again.

We had a great week at the Athens Lakehouse. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped for all of us 8 adults, a 14 month old baby & 10 month old baby. Everyone in the community was so friendly and helpful. The beach area, playground & pool were very nice and in close proximity. It was great to have the kayaks & canoe to use. The basement gameroom was fun and we enjoyed using the yard area during the day & campfire at night. We would definitely rent it again, it was a perfect vacation week for us.

This house was perfect, It was clean, well-equipped, and had comfortable furniture it was right on the lakefront, we have 5 kids plenty of room for everyone! and there was a basement full of games, a ping pong table, foosball, and a mini pool table, it was great in the evening time. The boys went kayaking right in the backyard and they also went canoeing all provided by the house . The community itself was fantastic a great community pool and lake with life guards. Just a great house over all, the owners were very helpful and responded quick to all our questions.

Stayed here with 10 guests, house is beautiful, right on the lakefront and the owner was quick to respond to a request during our stay. Our group was here to ski but will be back in the spring/summer to use the canoe and kayaks. Game room in the basement proved to be late night fun with a ping pong table, foosball, and a mini pool table. Saw lots of deer around the property, it was a perfect weekend.
Owner response:Thanks, looking forward to your return in the Spring. The lake looks even better when viewed from the water on the boats, since residents nicely landscape their waterfront properties.

I recently stayed here with some friends, as we wanted to get away from the city and do some snowmobiling. We rented snowmobiles @hunter mountain, then went to Slopes in tanersville to relax. We were five big guys, and there was plenty of room for all. House was clean, easy to find, and very affordable. My favorite was the ping pong table in the basement, good times.

My family had a wonderful summer week at the Murphy's Sleepy Hollow Lake house. Our age range was 12 yrs. through 92 yrs.--the house was a hit with everyone! It was clean, well-equipped, and had comfortable furniture. The games in the basement added an indoor fun dimension. Although there are many attractions close by for day trips, we were so entertained at the lake that we rarely ventured out of the community (If you are interested in local activities and day trips, many up-to-date brochures are provided at the house.) The Murphy's were extremely accommodating and returned calls promptly. Because of our great experience, we rented again for a week in oct.--perfect spot to enjoy the fall foliage!

We were very happy with this cabin and the owners. My children loved the loft and the basement of games. The cabin was beautiful with everything clean and very well-kept. My husband and I enjoyed the BBQ and kayaking right in the backyard and the canoe was fun with the kids. The community itself was fantastic - nice beach with lifeguards at the lake, very helpful and friendly people at the frontgate and pool. We found the house to be in a great location - not too far from the mountains, a perfect drive to many of the sites we wanted to see. Also very convenient to some large stores which was very helpful with the children. We would love to stay at this cabin every summer and maybe even check it out during the snow!

Sleepy Hollow Lake is a private lakeside community, so it was a great place for my family vacation. The rental home itself was clean, modern, and comfortable with plenty of great things to do for the kids (canoe, kayaks, pingpong, knock-hockey, foosball, DVD/TV, etc.). The community has several nice facilities for homeowners and their guests (like us renters) including a couple beaches, swimming pools, etc. No problems whatsoever.

The propterty was great! Nice open floor plan - ping pong and fouse ball in the basement kept the kids busy on rainy days. We loved being on the water to boat and fish. The Sleepy Hollow community in general was great - lake beach, two pools, basketball, tennis, everyone was friendly and nice. Some nice hiking in the area but not overly touristy with to many attractions.

I cant believe there are such places only 2.5 hours from city and still un-touched. Definitely recommend.

We recently stayed here for a long weekend and the house is just great. It is nicely located right by the lake, within easy access from the main street. The surroundings were very quiet and well-kept. The house itself was great; very clean, welcoming and well-equipped. I plan on staying here again soon.

The home was roomy, clean and very nice. My family had a nice stay despite a few days of rain. We enjoyed ourselves in the home because of the nice amenities such as foosball and ping pong table in the basement. My younger daughter enjoyed catching sun fish off the dock. My husband and I had a very relaxing time canoeing (canoe provided in the home) on the lake. The lake itself was warm enough to swim and the pool in the community was refreshing. We felt very safe since it is a private community where the house is located with their own security office. Overall I would consider renting again this property. I highly recommend this property. The owner was very helpful especially when we got locked out on our first day.
