The Lanais: The large lanai offers an outdoor living room, table with 6 chairs for enjoying a meal in the cool beautiful morning or the star studded temperate evening; the Jacuzzi that can hold 6 people comfortably; chaise lounges for relaxing or private tanning, an artistic tiled outdoor shower, large propane BBQ complete with utensils, and room left over for a wedding dance. The lanai is for YOUR USE ONLY!
The small sheltered lanai is located on the sea side of the condo and contains tropical plants, a small breakfast table & chairs and is suitable for watching the whales while eating breakfast or relaxing with a good book.
Living room: The wall of windows keeps you in touch with the outside at all hours of the day. The sea colored carpet, & sofa bring the ocean indoors, and the Goddess Pele and a number of beautiful art objects by island artists bring Hawaii to you. The sofa opens to a queen size bed to accommodate another two guests. A flat screen TV, DVD, VCR, CD players, and Broadband high-speed internet access provide indoor entertainment for everyone.
Dining room: This room has a custom built 5 foot round table, with a Lazy Susan in the center to add convenience for serving food or playing board games. (There’s a closet full of games if you are tired of touring.) Open to the kitchen, it also includes a breakfast bar for serving light meals easily.
Kitchen: The fully appointed kitchen is a gourmet’s delight equipped with most every specialized kitchen utensil imaginable - from glass top range, Kitchen Aid mixer and Cuisinart food processor to a garlic press and melon scoop. Beautiful china, Corelleware and plastic picnic settings are at your convenience.
Master Bedroom: The four poster California King size bed has a comfortable pillow top mattress, beautiful duvet and matching pillows. The étagère holds a television set with DVD, VCR and a drawer for your folded clothes. The attached bathroom has a 2 person glass enclosed shower with a window and private ocean view (amazing), marble topped counter, brass plated fixtures, luxurious waffle-weave robes, and a roomy closet.
Guest Bedroom has a King sized bed covered with beautiful linens and plenty of comfy pillows. This room includes a cabinet complete with television, DVD, VCR, a spacious chest of drawers, night stand and large closet stocked with extra bedding. Your guests will feel pampered and right at home.
Guest Bathroom: The matching green marble counter tops and shower for 2 make this a most luxurious place to clean up after a day at the beach or sunning on the lanai. Cabinet space abounds as well as wonderful fluffy towels. Both bathrooms have built in hairdryers.
Laundry Room: This is a very roomy place for a vacation condo. Plenty of cabinet space, soft water tank, all the laundry needs, folding areas, sink for rinsing sand from your bathing suit, laundry baskets, and best of all, picnic baskets if you love dining outdoors on the beach.
Back Porch: The entryway to the condo completes the nearly 360 degree view which includes the island’s majestic volcano, Haleakala.
Swimming Pool, Roof Top Barbecue and Aloha Room are the only amenities that are not private and we share with other residents. The pool is open from 9 to 9. If you are having a barbecue for a crowd and are in need of a commercial size grill, you are welcome to use the roof top facility.
Extras: The large cabinet on the lanai holds boogie boards, snorkeling gear, sand toys, mats, beach towels, beach chairs an exceptional learner surf board - much of which you would need to rent or buy if you stay elsewhere. This is our home away from home and we have the things our kids love and which we expect our guests will enjoy as well. The Maui Penthouse isn’t a sterile, commercial operation. We want you to enjoy all the things that our family enjoys by being in the most beautiful paradise in the world.
The Maui Penthouse is our home and we think we’re rightfully proud of all it offers. It is more spacious at 3400 sq. ft. than the most expensive luxury hotels, yet contains many more luxuries. Many on the island claim they have beautiful views but not only is ours spectacular - we even have a view from the master bathroom shower. Who could ask for more? Welcome!

This place was beyond amazing! We did a family trip along with my parents and the penthouse was so perfect. We had everything we could possibly need (and believe me, traveling with a 9 month old, it was heaven not to have to pack everything that usually accompanies a little one!) from travel cot to baby bath tub (which my son LOVED to splash around in out on the lanai every night) to surf boards and snorkel gear. Gayle was super helpful and accommodating...everything was labeled and uber organized! Every morning we sat drinking coffee and watching the whales, all from the comfort of our own private (and HUGE) deck. And every night we would wind down and re-hash the day watching the stars from the hot tub. We will certainly be back as soon as we can to enjoy this beautiful oasis. Thank you Gayle!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This penhouse was amazing!!! We were able to go to the local store buy our own groceries, grilled every night, went to the beach whenever we wanted!! We enjoyed the Hot Tub every night! The most relaxing vacation ever!!! Everyone was SO friendly!! We will be back! What a great time we had in Kihei! The Penthouse was just what we needed with our slew of kids. Couch was only item not super comfy but who spends their vacation on the couch??? Lots of snorkel gear, boogie boards (we left 4 more for you!), sand toys, etc. For the 'big kids' (after munchkins went to bed), the jacuzzi was awesome to drink our pina coladas in and watch the waves. We were close in proximity to a ton of fun things - Wailea (MUST GO TO MONKEYPOD RESTAURANT!), Farmer's Market, Home Maid Bakery for malasadas, Local Boys shave ice, etc. Really only a hop, skip and a jump into Lahaina for great shopping, beaches, submarine/fishing trips, craft fair; Kahului for swamp meet and more shopping; Paia for CUTE town and boutiques; Haleakala crater, etc. We can't wait to come back and stay again! Our family thought Wailea was the only place to stay in Maui. Boy were we wrong. The Maui Penthouse is perfect. Right across the street from the beach and every amenity one can think of. Gayle was available at a moment's notice and her staff are so thoughtful, prepared and organized for their guests, you will want for nothing. We were a bit sceptical, booking privately, from afar and another country, but our fears were mislaid. These people are great and the condo is stellar. It is beautiful, tasteful and spacious. We loved the proximity to everything, and we highly recommend everyone from all countries come and see the view--YOUR view from the Penthouse while you are in Maui. While the pictures are awesome, the reality is far better. It was one of the best vacations ever. Not only is the lanai a wonderful place to watch whales, it offers a different atmosphere to relax, to eat, to chit-chat, and to star gaze. The accomodations are very comfortable and the extras are well organized - look at the pictures of the storage shed and cabana - they are the extras that made this vacation one of the best. Thanks. Next time we are in Hawaii, we would stay here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was our first family vacation over seas and staying with another family. The accommodations were perfect, all the EXTRA'S were a bonus. We boogy-boarded and snorkeled every day, all the equipment was convenient and appreciated. Can't wait to return to Maui. Would definitely stay in the Penthouse again. Kona on the deck every morning over looking the ocean, priceless!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a great condo! The condo was more then expected. It had everything you would need, from towels to a wine opener. The organization of the penthouse is like staying at a 5 star hotel. My family of 6 spent 3 fabulous weeks here and loved it. Gayle the owner goes out of her way to make her home feel like your home, away from home. Our friends stayed in other units in the building and this unit was the gathering place for all of us. It has lots of room for any type of gathering. It was a great place for a family reunion with the beach across the street and resturants walking distance. The sunrise from the deck in the morning is breath taking. The sunset from the hot tub with a glass of wine was unbelievable. If you want a 5 star condo this is the place to stay in Maui! Mahalo to Gayle and her family!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We spent quite a bit of time deciding on where to stay. Because of past trips, we focused on West Maui but kept coming back to this cool penthouse that we ran across in Kihei. After talking with Gayle, we felt comfortable that this condo and location would be best for our family of five. The Maui Penthouse was even better than the high expectations we had going over there. The location, amenities, and view couldn't have been better. There were so many beach options so close to us and I believe we hit them all. And it was just so comforting to come back to such a wonderful space to eat, relax, and hang with the kids. One of the best memories was our first night all watching shooting stars from the hot tub We hope to be back soon--the kids want to go back even sooner.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Our first trip to Maui. Family of five. Gayle helped us with all the information we would need. Not only was she involved in every detail of making sure our trip ran smoothly, but she also checked with us along the way to make sure everything was going great. This penthouse is exactly as the photo's depict. We had a lovely time relaxing on the lania, cooking meals in the roomy kitchen.....and enjoying the panoramic views. Gayle and family have thought of every detail, and has everything very organized. A chef's delight....and a mother's delight. We could have honestly packed just a carry-on to travel, and purchased a couple of outfits there. Gayle has thought of everything else a family needs. The penthouse was truly a "home away from home"...yet better. This home boasts beautiful ocean/mountain views, and sleeping under the stars. The beds in both rooms were extremely comfortable. Best night's sleep in a long time. The shed is filled (and organized) with every "toy" needed, to enjoy your stay in Maui. The property is conveniently located across from the beach, close to a Pizza Hut (for Mom's night off)...and some really quaint shops. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the lanai. Thank-you Gayle for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This condo (it's actually not fair to call it a condo) is absolutely spectacular. The view from the lanai is exactly as it appears in the photos. We spent every moment we could out on the lanai. There are lots of seating options on the lanai, plus a hammock and your own jacuzzi. The condo is well furnished (no cheap furniture here), and bright and airy. There were five of us and there was plenty of room. Frankly, we could have easily brought 10 or more. There are 3 beds (one is somewhat unconventional and out on the lanai in a storage area), and at least 4 or 5 blow up mattresses. Our 9 and 11 year old boys loved sleeping on the 3rd bed in the storage area, though the last 4 nights they simply slept outside on the patio furniture. I did as well one night and love it. Falling asleep while listening to the ocean is truly special. It's hard to describe how well-equipped this condo is. Beautiful Weber gas grill and well equipped kitchen to use. I cooked many meals while we were there. Many boogie boards, snorkel sets, beach chairs, umbrella, etc., and they're all available for your use. There's literally a storage shed filled with beach gear. There's a gate that you enter the lanai through so that you don't bring all the sand, etc., into the house, and an outdoor shower to rinse off with. None of these are 'communal'. There are exclusively for your use as a guest of the unit. Gayle has really thought of everything and she makes you feel very welcome. She goes out of her way to ensure your stay is great. I'm torn over writing such a glowing review because I'd really love to keep this Maui gem to myself so I can reserve it when I want to! We will absolutely be back. We're already talking about when we can go back. We had a fabulous family vacation and the place we chose to stay at played a VERY part.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We walk the beach and run in the neighborhood virtually every day when we are on island. We can't take our eyes off the view and eat fruit and fish like there's no tomorrow. When off island, Fred is a practicing dentist focusing on oral surgery, and I am a land developer. We are 'empty-nesters' now.
Why the Owner Chose Kamaole Beach Royale:
When, we bought The Maui Penthouse we had been vacationing on Maui for several years and were frustrated by being in cramped places without the amenities of home. Actually, we only purchased the view. We stripped the interior and started from scratch. We love Maui and go over as often as possible. It is our little bit of Paradise and we know our guests will be just as thrilled with it as we are.
