What a great time we had in Kihei! The Penthouse was just what we needed with our slew of kids. Couch was only item not super comfy but who spends their vacation on the couch??? Lots of snorkel gear, boogie boards (we left 4 more for you!), sand toys, etc. For the 'big kids' (after munchkins went to bed), the jacuzzi was awesome to drink our pina coladas in and watch the waves. We were close in proximity to a ton of fun things - Wailea (MUST GO TO MONKEYPOD RESTAURANT!), Farmer's Market, Home Maid Bakery for malasadas, Local Boys shave ice, etc. Really only a hop, skip and a jump into Lahaina for great shopping, beaches, submarine/fishing trips, craft fair; Kahului for swamp meet and more shopping; Paia for CUTE town and boutiques; Haleakala crater, etc. We can't wait to come back and stay again! MAHALO NUI LOA GAYLE!

Our family thought Wailea was the only place to stay in Maui. Boy were we wrong. The Maui Penthouse is perfect. Right across the street from the beach and every amenity one can think of. Gayle was available at a moment's notice and her staff are so thoughtful, prepared and organized for their guests, you will want for nothing. We were a bit sceptical, booking privately, from afar and another country, but our fears were mislaid. These people are great and the condo is stellar. It is beautiful, tasteful and spacious. We loved the proximity to everything, and we highly recommend everyone from all countries come and see the view--YOUR view from the Penthouse while you are in Maui. We will return and hope the Penthouse is available. Many thanks from our family!

While the pictures are awesome, the reality is far better. It was one of the best vacations ever. Not only is the lanai a wonderful place to watch whales, it offers a different atmosphere to relax, to eat, to chit-chat, and to star gaze. The accomodations are very comfortable and the extras are well organized - look at the pictures of the storage shed and cabana - they are the extras that made this vacation one of the best. Thanks. Next time we are in Hawaii, we would stay here.

This was our first family vacation over seas and staying with another family. The accommodations were perfect, all the EXTRA'S were a bonus. We boogy-boarded and snorkeled every day, all the equipment was convenient and appreciated. Can't wait to return to Maui. Would definitely stay in the Penthouse again. Kona on the deck every morning over looking the ocean, priceless!!!!

What a great condo! The condo was more then expected. It had everything you would need, from towels to a wine opener. The organization of the penthouse is like staying at a 5 star hotel. My family of 6 spent 3 fabulous weeks here and loved it. Gayle the owner goes out of her way to make her home feel like your home, away from home. Our friends stayed in other units in the building and this unit was the gathering place for all of us. It has lots of room for any type of gathering. It was a great place for a family reunion with the beach across the street and resturants walking distance. The sunrise from the deck in the morning is breath taking. The sunset from the hot tub with a glass of wine was unbelievable. If you want a 5 star condo this is the place to stay in Maui! Mahalo to Gayle and her family!

We spent quite a bit of time deciding on where to stay. Because of past trips, we focused on West Maui but kept coming back to this cool penthouse that we ran across in Kihei. After talking with Gayle, we felt comfortable that this condo and location would be best for our family of five. The Maui Penthouse was even better than the high expectations we had going over there. The location, amenities, and view couldn't have been better. There were so many beach options so close to us and I believe we hit them all. And it was just so comforting to come back to such a wonderful space to eat, relax, and hang with the kids. One of the best memories was our first night all watching shooting stars from the hot tub We hope to be back soon--the kids want to go back even sooner.

Our first trip to Maui. Family of five. Gayle helped us with all the information we would need. Not only was she involved in every detail of making sure our trip ran smoothly, but she also checked with us along the way to make sure everything was going great. This penthouse is exactly as the photo's depict. We had a lovely time relaxing on the lania, cooking meals in the roomy kitchen.....and enjoying the panoramic views. Gayle and family have thought of every detail, and has everything very organized. A chef's delight....and a mother's delight. We could have honestly packed just a carry-on to travel, and purchased a couple of outfits there. Gayle has thought of everything else a family needs. The penthouse was truly a "home away from home"...yet better. This home boasts beautiful ocean/mountain views, and sleeping under the stars. The beds in both rooms were extremely comfortable. Best night's sleep in a long time. The shed is filled (and organized) with every "toy" needed, to enjoy your stay in Maui. The property is conveniently located across from the beach, close to a Pizza Hut (for Mom's night off)...and some really quaint shops. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the lanai. Thank-you Gayle for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!

This condo (it's actually not fair to call it a condo) is absolutely spectacular. The view from the lanai is exactly as it appears in the photos. We spent every moment we could out on the lanai. There are lots of seating options on the lanai, plus a hammock and your own jacuzzi. The condo is well furnished (no cheap furniture here), and bright and airy. There were five of us and there was plenty of room. Frankly, we could have easily brought 10 or more. There are 3 beds (one is somewhat unconventional and out on the lanai in a storage area), and at least 4 or 5 blow up mattresses. Our 9 and 11 year old boys loved sleeping on the 3rd bed in the storage area, though the last 4 nights they simply slept outside on the patio furniture. I did as well one night and love it. Falling asleep while listening to the ocean is truly special. It's hard to describe how well-equipped this condo is. Beautiful Weber gas grill and well equipped kitchen to use. I cooked many meals while we were there. Many boogie boards, snorkel sets, beach chairs, umbrella, etc., and they're all available for your use. There's literally a storage shed filled with beach gear. There's a gate that you enter the lanai through so that you don't bring all the sand, etc., into the house, and an outdoor shower to rinse off with. None of these are 'communal'. There are exclusively for your use as a guest of the unit. Gayle has really thought of everything and she makes you feel very welcome. She goes out of her way to ensure your stay is great. I'm torn over writing such a glowing review because I'd really love to keep this Maui gem to myself so I can reserve it when I want to! We will absolutely be back. We're already talking about when we can go back. We had a fabulous family vacation and the place we chose to stay at played a VERY part.

Dear Gayle, I don't know where to begin.. our January stay in Maui at your lovely penthouse is now our favorite family memory. We are all still aglow from the experience and your home was the perfect gathering place for my Dad's 80th birthday celebration. We were all blissfully happy for 7 solid days! Thank you so much!

Eight of us stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it! The condo is very clean and gorgeous and is supplied with everything you need for your stay; water toys, kitchen appliances, lots of wineglasses... It's close to shopping and restaurants and is just across the street from the beach. The lanai is amazing. My sisters actually slept outside every night so they could be under the stars. We would definitely go back and my younger sister is already planning to take the rest of her family there. Thank you Gayle! We had a blast.

First-do not buy any toys until you check out the shed and apartment. Everything is there, even surf boards and binoculars (nice ones)! The owners-dealing with Gayle was such a pleasure! Such a lovely lady! And the cleaning lady is very thorough-spotless throughout. The penthouse is so roomy. This is a comfortable apartment you can relax in, yet very classy at the same time. THE BED!! The master bedroom (huge) mattress setup is very comfortable. We stayed at 4 other places (2 homes and 2 other condos) during our 3 weeks on Maui, and nobody had a bed this good! Let me tell you-nothing can kill your enthusiasm for your vacation like the lack of sleep and waking up with an aching back from a bad bed. One night here and I did not want to leave. Actually, I wanted to take the bed with me! Plenty of closet/drawer and bathroom space. The kitchen really does have every gadget known to man...or woman, times two...or three. Save lots of cash by eating in. There are several farmer's markets on the island to purchase from. The hot tub...oh my gosh! It has a different station for each muscle group from feet/legs up to your neck. Could barely drag my husband and son out of it. We were watching for any July 4th fireworks from the hot tub...weren't any really, but ended up turning off the lanai lights to watch the stars and saw several meteors go by. Because this is the tallest building on the block, you don't get a lot of light reflection. The beach across the street is wonderful. Word of advice-go in the early morning especially if you have little kids! The water is like glass on some mornings. When we were there, the wind picked up in the afternoons though we were able to go down to see the sunset with our 4 yr old. Btw, the sunsets are just as spectacular from the lanai. There is a pizza hut & baskin robbins across the street. You can grab a scoop on the way back from the beach. Go to Bali Imports there too-very cool stuff. The ONLY con we experienced here was not being allowed to have any floats in the pool. Not even a ring for my 4 yr old when the pool was empty. That to me was extreme. But, we just went back up to the hot tub and let him float in there. Next time, we'll be sure to have one of those swimsuits with the built-in styro material. All in all-a wonderful stay. Beautiful views and sunsets, comfortable beds, plenty of room, no bugs or ants (it's the tropics-that's huge), and great people to deal with. We will be back! Thanks Gayle!! Mwah!

I can't begin to say how much we enjoyed and appreciated all the amenities that this property offered. Gayle was true to her word that we would be spoiled by all the comforts of their home in Maui. There was absolutely nothing that we didn't have at our fingertips. The lanai is unbeatable with what it offers from the rising sun to the beautiful sunsets. The interior was spacious and again nothing was missed. The kitchen had every type of appliance and at least triple sets of dishes. Thank you so much for the opportunity that we had in being able to stay for two weeks in paradise!

After years of travel, I've stayed at many wonderful places, and The Maui Penthouse ranks up there with the best. My family has been there every year since Gayle began to share it. The view is without parallel; the lanai is so large that it's almost another apartment (complete with living, dining and resting areas);the kitchen is well equipped; the master shower is amazing; and the whole place is extraordinarily comfortable. The storage unit is full of wonderful surprises: toys - snorkels, boogie boards, surf boards, sand toys and lots more. Inside the condo there are books, dvds and information about where to go and what to see on the island as well as a game closet filled with board games, all for the quiet times. What a wonderful place to spend a vacation. Former Congressman Mike McCormack

My wife and I have traveled for the past 27 years and have rarely found perfection. This condo has it all. Truly the most spectacular view with the sun setting and you looking at it from the fifty yard line. The people and the staff of the Kamaole Beach Royal were friendly and most helpful. The facility is a rare quiet other than the ocean and the birds. (Must be the seventh floor). The unit itself has everything. I mean everything. No other place we have stayed at was outfitted this well. This is hard to understand unless you have stayed there. Beach toys, cooking supplies, random needs. The unit has it all. Mood lighting, everything labeled for ease. Ample towels, bedding, etc. Dealing with the owners was very easy. They are very friendly and business like making the whole experience so good. The only thing we didn't like about this place was.....................having to leave it! We will be back over and over.

The Maui Penthouse . . . WOW. We walked to lots of fun places, and to the beach, which is just across the street, and never crowded. The magic book is a real treasure, wherever you want to go, grab the google map and you don’t waste precious time getting lost. The kitchen had everything we needed and lots we didn’t know what to do with – I’m no gourmet. We loved this place so much we booked for next year before we left. No more 800 square foot condos for us – the large lanai alone is bigger than any place we rented before.

Hi Gayle! We're back in Michigan and reality has hit us pretty hard. It's cold and cloudy today and we'd rather be back in Maui but all good things must come to an end. I wanted to thank you and I'm not sure where to begin! The condo was more than we'd imagined. You are so incredibly organized...from board games, to books, to movies, to your amazing kitchen and the well stocked "toy shed"...we were so pleasantly shocked and impressed! We had a fabulous trip! The views from the top floor were breathtaking and we made so many wonderful memories as a family. This was a family reunion that topped all family reunions. We love to cook so we spent much time in your kitchen and it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you again for sharing a little piece of your paradise with us. We will be back for sure. This place is fantastic! Everything was so comfy, from the beds to the leather recliners to the outdoor furniture. We felt pampered and like we were the luckiest people in Kihei. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the sunset was a feast for the eyes. Each night was a different beauty. In the morning I could smell the fragrance of flowers as I watched the sun coming up over the edge of Haleakala. The ocean breezes keep the place fresh and cool so we never even used the air conditioning. There were boogie boards and a surf board for our teenagers and lots of soft towels. It was fun to use the outdoor shower with an amazing view. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven on Maui with us. We absolutely loved this penthouse and can't wait to stay here again. If you're looking for a romantic, special place, this is it.

We spent 6 fabulous days at this condo, located across the street from Kamaole I beach in a quiet part of Kihei. The condo is large, comfortable and stocked with all the towels, dishware and kitchen gizmos that you might need. Great HDTVs and HD cable access. We spent many pleasant evenings on the expansive lanai equipped with comfortable outdoor furniture, private hot tub and outdoor shower. The views of Maalea Bay, Kihei beaches and outlying islands of Kahoolawe, Lanai are outstanding. The condo is conveniently located near shops and restaurants of Kihei and Wailea. Close to many beaches and great snorkeling, the condo comes equipped with snorkels, boogie boards and all sorts of beach toys. The classic condo building is clean and well-managed. We can't wait to return next year!

I've enjoyed staying here a number of times over the years. The owner keeps it in great shape. The convenience of the large private deck is unusual and really quite special for this area, and the near 360-degree eagle-eye view from there is amazing day or night. The building's small pool is pleasant, and you can just walk across the street to my favorite beach in Kihei.
Owner response:This family uses the Maui Penthouse for their family reunion. They have been delightful. (Makes this job fun!)
