Duck Creek, Kane County’s “high mountain playground” (8400 feet) sits in a meadow on beautiful Cedar Mountain, surrounded by Dixie National Forest, which offers an almost overwhelming variety of world-class recreational activities year round. Though the park may be best known for its diverse and scenic system of ATV and snowmobile trails (both regarded as some of the best in the United States), visitors also come to cross-country ski, mountain bike, hike, horseback ride, fish, or simply enjoy the incredible fall colors, gorgeous sunsets or pristine winter beauty the area is blessed with. Its central location makes Duck Creek Village a perfect base for exploring many of southern Utah’s most popular parks and monuments, including Zion and Bryce Canyon. (See distances from Duck Creek Village, below.) Brian Head Ski Resort boasts 400 inches yearly of some of the greatest snow in the world as well as some pretty challenging mountain bike trails. In late July, the village bustles when visitors from around the world come for Duck Creek Days. Live music and the chili cook-off are two highlighs. June 29 –August 29, Cedar City hosts The Utah Shakespearean Festival, a Tony Award winning event.

The cabin provides living space on three levels, making it perfect for families with teenagers or larger groups. The "great room" lets everyone gather for meals, to watch movies, etc.

-At entry level you will find the kitchen, with all new appliances, the ample dining and living areas with a second story balcony overlooking the forest, as well as a large full bath, and a good-sized bedroom with a queen-sized bed. Two sets of stairs lead to the loft, and the the lower level. (The living room also has a full sleeper, satellite tv and DVD.)

-Downstairs you´ll find three more queen-sized beds in two bedrooms, a second full bath, a spacious laundry room and a large, open room which leads to the yard. The bedroom with two beds has satellite tv, VCR, DVD and Playstation.

-The loft has a sofa and loveseat, desk and chair, the perfect location to plunk down your laptop. Two cupboards house extra sheets and blankets, games, and books. The aspen railings and tongue and groove wooden ceilings and floors give the cabin a lot of rustic appeal.

Make your plans soon to visit the scenic mountains and plateaus of Southern Utah. It is truly God´s country. If we can be of help in planning your trip, don´t hesitate to ask.

Why the Owner Chose Duck Creek Village

I lived in Northern Nevada for a while before its beauty grew on me, but I fell in love with southern Utah the first time I saw photos of it. So, shortly after getting my pilot's license, I decided to visit it. I hiked and camped and explored and skiied and oohed and aahed at the drop dead gorgeous landscape, beautiful from the ground and from the air. When the cabin's previous owner approached me wanting to trade for my property in Reno, I jumped at the chance. Until I can visit in person I'll have to rely on renters to tell me about the cabin, surrounding area and things to do. So, please write something in our guestbook.

Owner's Map of Duck Creek Village

In the 4 years I´ve been living in the Dominican Republic I´ve seen the entire country. There are some beautiful places, like where we live, near Las Galeras on the Samana Peninsula. But nothing here compares to the landscapes one sees in southern Utah. When I showed my (Dominican) husband my photos of southern Utah I almost had to hide his passport, he was that impressed. We hope to visit soon.
