Castellino Bucine is conveniently situated in the historic centre of the village, where local amenities such as restaurants, bank, post office, shops, cafés, supermarket and a free parking area are just a five minute walk away.
Both 75 m²/ 750 square feet apartments comfortably accommodate 2 people each (although up to 2 additional guest beds can be provided at a small charge) and are available, for a minimum of three nights, throughout the whole year, individually or combined. High speed internet is available in the apartments and on the terrace.
This holiday rental is full of character and offers everything a Tuscany enthusiast desires: a wonderful view, a panoramic terrace and a fantastic garden which once belonged to the Medici family.
In a peaceful setting surrounded by cypresses and pine trees, you can while away the days relaxing or sightseeing and, in the evenings, take advantage of our outside fireplace with a glass (or two!) of wine and just enjoy being "away from it all..."

Why the Owner Chose Bucine
Basically we wanted to stay only for a year or two on the Tuscan country side as Florence, where we worked at the time, was just too expensive (this was 2001/2). But when looking for places to rent we've seen the Castellino Bucine and just fell deeply in love with this house - In the historic center of a village, but with a huge garden - and all this on a hill top with a marvellous view - so we bought the house and just hope to be able to keep it until our old age (and then live there again).

In the Castellino Bucine we love - staying outside on the terrace late in warm spring and summer nights and enjoying the view and the air - relaxing a whole day in the garden - visiting the beaches or surrounding Tuscany for day trips - the beautiful old stones - the fire place in the winter
Owner's Map of Bucine
We are a German couple and went to live in Italy for two years about ten years back. Well, we ended up staying a bit longer as we bought this beautiful property six years back now and rented out one of the two apartments and lived in the other. For a variety of reasons we needed to go back to Germany and now rent out both (when we are not in Bucine ourselves).

My husband and I stayed here for a week during a 7-week tour of Europe where we were stayin in a variety of vacational rentals. The unit was definitely spacious and had all the basic amenities, but was rather ill-lit throughout and lacked charm and comfort. Please note, also, that you have to park in the center of town and walk to the apartment, which was kind of inconvenient, and on market day you have to move your car way out to the outskirts of the village until the market is over. It also was rather noisy at night if you had the window open in the bedroom, as the train station is directly behind the house and trains go by (tooting their horns) on a regular basis! On the good side, however, it was centrally located in the region and had convenient access to a train station, making a car not an absolute necessity and the little town did have all the basics--a few small cafes, a bank, post office, etc.
Owner response:We took the review from the O'Briens seriously and given that a few other guests from the USA told us that they are used to more lights we installed more lamps so that we have now a well-lit allover. Regarding the quantity of furniture we and all the other guests like it as it is, because it is not crowded with so many things. Charm and comfort is a quite individual matter we think.
