Lone Star Cottage is just one block from the ocean, an easy walk! It features a fully-fenced private back yard with outdoor shower and firepit, wrap-around deck with grill and picnic table. Off-street parking is available for at least two cars, no parking permit needed.
You can walk to all the amenities of Dewey Beach, or take the Jolly Trolley to Rehoboth Beach and their boardwalk. Cape Henlopen State Park and the ferry to Cape May are only 15 minutes away in Lewes. Or, heading south, Ocean City, MD is an easy 30-minute drive.
Check in at 2 PM, and check out by 10 AM. ONLY full weeks (Saturday to Saturday) in the Summer, please! Guests bring their own linens, towels and paper products. Don't forget the beach towels! Minimum age of 21 to make a reservation (no high school groups accepted).
Add 3% Dewey Beach tax and cleaning fee of $85. Refundable security/ reservation deposit due within 7 days of a signed rental agreement; half the total rental due 60 days prior to check in, the remainder due 30 days prior to check in.

Year Purchased: 2008
I bought the house in December 2008, and have been working since then to update and remodel. Before the 2010 season, we extended the deck around to the side yard, to offer a little shade and privacy. More projects are always in the works. We love the beach, and this place is so close! We're excited to be able to offer it for your vacation. Relax and enjoy!
Effective January 2011, we no longer accept reservations from guests with pets. While many people were respectful of the property, those who were not left too much damage and mess. Sorry!
In 2011, we extended the deck/boardwalk around the west side of the house to the back door and outdoor shower. The living room furniture was updated, including a new sofa bed. See more photos posted on our website at LoneStarCottage (dot) com.

We had a great stay here. Ellen was wonderful and makes the home easy to rent. The house has been remodeled and looks great with a clean beach decor. One of the best features of renting this house was that when we were ready to leave we didn't have to clean the home, a cleaning fee was included in our renting rate and certainly made leaving a little easier! The beach is a short block away and you can easily walk or bike to any other restaurants/stores in Dewey. The home does sit along route 1 but the privacy fence keeps some noise out and makes it seem like you are on a back street. If you are looking for a place to rent while at the beach, choose this one.

This property was very charming. It was comfortable for six adults. The open floor plan made it nice to socialize while preparing meals. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire outside in the evenings. We took our bicyles and enjoyed riding to Rehobeth and nearby neighborhoods admiring the homes. This property is close to restaurants and the beach. It was everything we had expected. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

It was an awesome place to stay in Dewey beach! The location was perfect! Everything was in walking distance, I think I moved my car once just to go grocery shopping. The Cottage was very spacious. It was perfect for my family. The firepit was a plus, we used it every night! I would love to rent again next summer!

We were very happy with the cottage and the location! The cottage is even nicer than the pictures! The location was great, close to the beach and restaurants and shops! I was nice to be able to walk to most places . The outdoor shower was a real plus!

Great spot!!! everything you need in a cottage; cozy, comfortable, so close to the beach and all of the attractions. ample parking for 3 cars. great side yard. definitely planning on staying here everytime i go to dewey!

What a great place to stay for a fun weekend in Dewey! We were pleasantly surprised by the very open layout in the living room/dining room area. It was perfect for hanging out and having a meal together before walking into town. Everything was immaculately kept, spacious, and cheery. While the traffic next to the house was a little noisy during rush hour, it quieted down at night. The fence provided great privacy and we would def. rent again!

Our party of six adults plus two dogs had a great weekend getaway! The main room is spacious enough that we didn't feel claustrophobic and the decks provide extra space for hanging out. We also enjoyed the fire pit on a cool October evening. The main road next to the house is hardly noticeable, and the driveway easily fit two cars. Despite another reviewer's concern about backing out of the driveway, we did not find it to be a problem. Everything that we wanted to do was close by and the house was in great condition. Ellen's great with communication and recommendations. We hope to come back for another visit!

We had a wonderful time here, and felt at home immediately. It was very relaxing and super-convenient to the beach and a short drive to shopping (it rained). Walking distance to a great diner and some fun bars as well. Ellen is wonderful to deal with and the house was really clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it! My one warning would be that it is very close to the highway, so with small kids or dogs you need to keep close watch, but it wasn't noisy at all and we had a great time - thanks!

I booked the house for myself and a group of girlfriends from high school. From the beginning, Ellen was wonderful and very friendly! The house is walking distance from the beach and some great spots in Dewey. A drive to the outlets is very short! We really enjoyed ourselves and are hoping to repeat the experience at the Lone Star Cottage again next year!
