Location: Tombstone, Tucson & Southern Arizona, Arizona, USA (On 18 Fenced Acres of the High Lonesome Ranch Estates)

Accommodations:  Casita, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

Welcome to our secluded, hideaway home. Located at 4900' elevation, this home provides beautiful vistas of the numerous mountains in the area. It is available year-round, and features four corrals for folks traveling with horses.

The High Lonesome Casita is a recently built (2007) Santa Fe style home that is fully furnished with all linens, kitchen and pantry items, such as coffee, tea, sugar, spices, etc. This cozy home is a great place to return to after a day of sightseeing or vacationing in Cochise County. Come back to relax on one of the porches in the quiet surroundings, watching the local wildlife and birds, having dinner outside if you choose, or viewing the amazing skies at night that are filled with stars as far as you can see! The Casita provides comfortable accommodations for 2-4 guests in a fully stocked home with complete kitchen, laundry, and private acreage to enjoy and hike on. Feel free to hike on all of the maintained roads on the ranch, too!

Use this house as your vacation base while enjoying Southeastern Arizona. Head south and visit Douglas or Nogales, Arizona, or Mexico. Visit Sierra Vista (40 minute drive), considered to be the bird watching capital of North America. Enjoy a short drive to the wildlife refuge in McNeal, AZ, which is the winter home of the Sandhill Cranes, (the lake can be seen in the distance from the Casita). Tour the copper mines of Bisbee and shop at the numerous antiques shops and art galleries located there. Visit Rattlesnake Crafts, located about 10 minutes from the casita. You’ll never come across another place like it. I promise!! Take a 5 minute drive (really less than that) over to the deserted, ghost town of Gleeson. Some of the ghost town buildings are located on High Lonesome Road, as you are beginning to leave the ranch. Be sure and visit Tombstone to experience the most famous town of the Old West!

Why the Owner Chose Tombstone

Ellen & Pat Dour started vacationing in Arizona about 10 years ago, and fell in love with the desert terrain, and the remote beauty of the high desert country. We bought land for our future retirment home, and built the High Lonesome Casita at the North end of our ranch, as a vacation spot and future guest house. We love the Tombstone and Cochise County area, and the Old West history that is preserved in the "Town Too Togh To Die". We hope you enjoy either of our special Arizona homes, in the town of Tombstone at The Tombstione Home, or outside of town on the Ranch at the High Lonesome Casita.

One guest who stayed in August, could not get her comments entered, so she sent them to us to post. Thanks, Ellen & Pat "Breathtaking!" "After spending some time at the new Casita, just had to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Not only was it spotless and comfortable, but had all the amenities you could ask for. It's just far enough outside town for privacy and relaxation, and the views are breathtaking all around. Really loved being able to take a leisurely hike around the landscape and enjoy all the natural beauty - particularly all the hummingbirds. WOW!! "
