Hummingbird Haven is a walkout basement suite (750 square feet,) with private entrance, outdoor patio with barbecue, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom, lounge/dining room, private en-suite washer/dryer, Wi-Fi access to internet, TV, DVD Player, and Sound System. No smoking in suite or on property.
Hummingbird Haven is situated in North Vancouver at the end of tree-lined Riverside Drive which runs parallel to the Seymour River. It offers the perfect accommodation for travelers, holiday makers or business people, who are looking for a tranquil haven in true West Coast style. Only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the suite has been comfortably appointed by the owners as though it were their own nest, making it a home away from home.
A five minute walk from the front door will take you straight onto Fisherman’s Trail that winds deep into the heart of the Seymour Valley. Discover secret, ice cold swimming holes for quick cool downs while you amble or hike. The more adventurous visitor can head straight onto the adrenaline pumping mountain bike trails.
August brings the flurry of tiny wings as hummingbirds feast on summer’s late floral offerings. On a rare summer evening the neighborhood warning calls can be heard down the street, as a lone black bear wanders down from the mountain to investigate the lingering smells of barbecue and berry pie.
A 12 minutes drive over the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge and visitors can enjoy the cosmopolitan restaurants, bakeries and eccentric knick-knack shops of Commercial Drive. Alternatively, a leisurely stroll down the Lonsdale Road will take you past Persian cafes, Italian gelato and trendy boutiques before the scenic seabus will get you across the water to downtown Vancouver in 15 minutes.
In winter Hummingbird Haven has easy access to Cypress Mountain, Grouse Mountain and Mt Seymour for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. For those who prefer sun and sea, a heart beat away and you are in picturesque Deep Cove for art browsing, Honey’s doughnuts, kayaking and sailing.

Balance of Rent payable on arrival.
100% Deposit required at time of booking if paid 30 Days or less in advance.
Full deposit is refunded if cancelled 60 days or longer in advance.
Deposit is refunded less a 20% handling fee if cancelled 45+ days.
Deposit is not refunded if cancelling less than 45 days in advance.

Julie and Rene, warm and hospitable home owners of Hummingbird Haven, invite guests to share this beautiful location with them. Lovers of nature and the outdoors, they enjoy the natural trails and wildlife of the area, while knowing that they are only twenty minutes away from a cosmopolitan and sophisticated city that offers international cuisine, bustling coffee shops and art, music and theatre for all tastes. Originally from South Africa, Vancouver is now home.
The Unique Benefits of this Suite
Your furry, winged, fanged friends are welcome. We have a pet rat right now as we have not been ready for the emotional commitment of a large animal.
We had a Giant Schnauzer and a cross hyena/warthog ... well that's what he looked like.... back in South Africa and loved them dearly.. They departed before we did.
Size does indeed count and each case will be treated on its merits. Julie and I will consult and decide together.
