My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this property. The peace and quiet were much needed to disconnect from the busy world that we live in. All the amenities were much appreciated including a jacuzzi. Main bedroom was up a spiral staircase with a 1/2 bath. Downstairs included an extra bed and beautiful shower. We dined at the Gingerbread a few nights which was right down the driveway. We enjoyed our stay at this casa.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Lago for a month and were delighted from the moment we walked in the door. The house is charming, comfortable and well appointed. The hot tub and fireplace kept us cosy on the rainy nights and on hot days, the ceiling fans and lake breezes kept the house cool and pleasant. The master bedroom was my favourite spot since it sits high up with a full view of the lake and tree tops. Every morning we would awaken to a symphony of bird songs and the occasional whooping of howler monkeys. The house is in an excellent location to see the sights in La Fortuna or to go the other direction to Nuevo Arenal or Tileran. It is right next door to a fantastic restaurant called The Gingerbread House, where we ate on many occasions. Besides having a great menu, The Gingerbread House attracts many local residents who will give you tips and suggestions on where to go and how to find things. Make sure to meet Beth and Jeff Tinsler who will take you out for a kayak tour on the lake. The owners of Casa Lago, Pat and Tom, were most helpful in communicating with us before and during our stay at the house. The house manager, Patrick, was terrific and checked in with us to see if we needed anything but never interfered with our privacy. We would definitely recommend Casa Lago to visitors coming to Lake Arenal. This was our first visit to Costa Rica and Lake Arenal. When we come again, Casa Lago would be our first choice location. My wife and I were looking for a spot to get away. Casa Lago was IT! Clean, comfortable, quiet, exactly what we were looking for. The area is close to La Fortuna but far enough away that the traditional tourist crowd didn't exist. Sitting out under the gazebo in the rain, watching the monkeys play in a tree across the road was lots of fun. There are plenty of local restaurants to choose from. We suggest meeting Margarita and Eloisa at their "soda" next to the football (soccer) field. If we make it back to Costa Rica Casa Lago will be the destination.

Me and My Wife stayed here on our Honeymoon and was an Excellent place to get away. I've been to this region several times and enjoyed this as well. The Manager Patrick was Excellent and very helpful with all the details. I would really Recommend this for people who want to get away and relax. Don't think twice about renting and Enjoy!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and stay at Casa Lago. I particularly liked the natural beauty of the area. We took evening strolls down at the lake and I found them to be very therapeutic. I would recommend going to one of the many natural hot springs in the area. The house was very comfortable and a great place for me to catch up on my rest. My wife found the local shopping to be excellent and had no problems finding unusual gifts for our close friends and family. Ellen, my wife, has already made reservations for our next trip to this great spot in Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica.

Jack and I have been to Costa Rica many times, but we found that the Lake Arenal area to have been our most enjoyable visit. Lake Arenal and the volcano were truly awe-inspiring. Our rental home was very comfortable and charming with nice landscaping and great views. We found the home and the area to be very quite, relaxing and private, an ideal getaway. The houses location is perfect with many good nearby restaurants and other recreational activities. In the town of Arenal, we met many interesting people; they were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and other things to do. Jack and I recommend visiting Arenal and plan to stay at this lovely home again during the holidays.

We would definitely recommend that any looking for a great vacation in Costa Rica stay at Casa Lago. Everything was as advertised, the home was truly charming and comfortable, and the well-kept grounds were beautiful. The caretaker Patrick Hughes was a great help in arranging our activities such as exciting canopy tour at the nearby Ecolodge. He even helped us with horseback riding and restaurants. All of Patrick’s recommendations were spot on. All and all, a terrific time. Will return!

Just a quick note to thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay in your delightful home. We were quite pleased that everything was as you promised and look forward to a return visit in the near future. My wife and I had a restful and much needed break from the fast pace of home. Your charming home is a place of sanctuary and respite from stress at home. We spent our evenings relaxing in the hot tub as the toucans passed overhead. We particularly enjoyed our walks to nearby Lake Arenal and the food at the nearby restaurants. Thank you.

Wonder of Nature

This was our first trip to Costa Rica for my husband and I. We were pleased with the beautiful accommodations. The Lake Arenal area is a wonder of nature with all kinds of birds including toucans and parrots, an impressive active volcano and the beautiful lake and surrounding emerald mountains. My husband and I went fishing and caught several of the large local fish. There were all sorts of activities to keep us busy including kayaking, fishing, hiking and bird watching. We found the food in the nearby restaurants to be excellent. The service and the house itself were outstanding. We plan on returning to Costa Rica and purchasing a home in the Lake Arenal area.

We rented this home with another couple since we were on a budget. The way the house is laid out we had no privacy or other issues. The four of us were very comfortable, and all enjoyed the home, the area’s great views, and the beautiful grounds. Our friend is a chef and cooked two great dinners in the well-equipped kitchen. This home is first class by any measurement with hot tub, LCD TV, stereo, and gas fireplace. We found it to be a terrific bargain. We plan to return here the first chance we have. Thanks for a great vacation.

This is a beautiful house, stylishly furnished and comfortable, with spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The home, the view, and the natural setting allowed my husband and I to get a feel of the real Costa Rica. The Gingerbread Restaurant was within walking distance and featured some of the best food we have eaten in Costa Rica. Casa Lago easily surpassed our expectations and we highly recommend it.. One of the most enjoyable vacations that we have had. We are coming back soon.

My husband and I we're looking for a private getaway from Nosara beach, where we have a home. So we decided to spend a few days in the Lake Arenal Area. We contacted the caretaker of the home the same day we were planning to come and were thrilled to find out it was available. Patrick, the caretaker was waiting for us that afternoon when we arrived and let us in to have a look before we decided to stay. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED, the home is meticulously kept, has fantastic Lake Views and a great set of amenities. Don't tell the owners but they could have asked alot more per night and we would have happily paid it! We fired up the hottub and decided to extend our stay from 4 to 6 days!!! Everything that is advertised with the home is there and then some. We enjoyed super dining just a few yards down the road. Woke up to birds singing every morning and had all the space we needed to spread out and reallllly enjoy ourselves. We have stayed in the area in the past and were never as fully satisfied as we were at Casa Lago. We will be back!!!!!!!!!!

Staying at Casa Lago was a dream vacation. My husband and I are nature lovers and particularly enjoyed the flora and fauna of the grounds. Casa Lago exceeded our expectations. We could not have found a better place to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature. We especially enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and listening to the many birds on the property. A beautiful setting, a bottle of wine, and a much deserved break from the hustle and bustle of home. Muchas Gracias!
