SUMMER HOUSE RENTAL
THE BUNGALOW AT HIGHLANDS, NEW JERSEY
The house is completely renovated, open plan 3 bedroom/1 bath bungalow in Highlands, NJ, which is at the very top of the New Jersey Shore. It's a perfect spot to spend your time reading, relaxing on the hammock, strolling to the small beach at the end of the block, barbecuing on the deck and sipping wine all day long… and has all the elements that make up a relaxing vacation.
The town of Highlands, NJ is charming with no traffic lights on the main street. It is mostly residential and very laid back. It's not typical of what you may think of the Jersey Shore. The town is known for its many restaurants as well as its proximity to Sandy Hook, Sea Bright and Long Branch as well as hiking trails and gorgeous views of New York City. There is a green market every Saturday during the summer – one block away. We find the house and the town to be charming and a perfect getaway from the city.
The location of the house makes it an easy commute from New York City, so you can also use it as a base for exploring the city. The ferry gets you there in about 40 minutes.
The house is on one level and has a crib and high chair (and some toys), so it's perfectly equipped for a family with small children.

We live in New York City and use this lovely home as a weekend retreat. Together with our young daughter, we enjoy the simple pleasures this house and the charming town have to offer.

It's the best of all worlds. The simple layout of the house is perfect for a family. The bedrooms provide private space and quiet time while the open layout of the kitchen/dining room/living room allows guests the joy of spending most of your vacation time together. And the large backyard deck is a delightful, comfortable spot to just chill out with your loved ones.

The property was as listed, clean, comfortable, well-maintained and very quiet. Photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance. The home was well stocked with everything a person could want or need. Owner was very flexible with scheduling. Nearby beach is small (great for little ones). The beach at Sandy Hook (1 mile away) is beautiful.
Recommended for:Pet owners, age 55+, families with young children.
