Had an absolutely wonderful time at the Eagles Nest - the place was immaculate - we all loved the knotty pine floor, walls, furniture etc. - we thought the place was brand new - it was so bright, clean and neat. The owners thought of everything to make our stay memorable. Great central location too - we took day trips to Tahquamenon Falls, Mac Island, Pictured Rocks and took a walk around the lake and trails through the woods - we just loved it - of course the weather was perfect the whole time we were there - that didn't hurt a bit. We had ladies from California, Colorado and Washington State with us - as a native Michigander I was very proud to show off my state and this house helped a lot - thanks so much for sharing it with us.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The Eagle's Nest was perfect for our Fall Break! It was cozy and spacious, which is sometimes hard to find. The view completed the perfection, and the fall colors were spectacular. We couldn't have asked for better hosts or location! Thanks so much :-)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

The pictures do not do The Eagles Nest justice. When we walked in the door we were pleasantly surprised. The Eagles Nest is a brigh,t cheery, welcoming home with a beautiful lake view. It provided all the necessary items for our family culinary cookoff contest. The kitchen is large enogh to have many cooks in the kitchen. The deck overlooking the lake was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee. We had 4 families staying there and we were all comfortable. Looking forward to our next stay.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Eagle's Nest. Loved the isolation, the quiet, the breezy and comfortable rooms, the stars at night, the lake (our kids took the boat all the way across), and the nearby beach on Lake Michigan. The property was within easy driving distance of St. Ignace, the Mackinac Island ferry, Taquemenon Falls, etc. The owner replied promptly to our initial inquiry and to all follow-up emails, and did everything possible to make this a pleasant stay. A perfect introduction to the Upper Peninsula!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a great stay at the Eagle's Nest. It was perfect for our group of 7 adults and 3 young grandchildren. We appreciated the large kitchen/great room and attached deck. Everything was very clean and pleasant. The children loved playing in the water, snorkeling, jumping off the dock and playing with the paddle-boat. Of course going fishing in the early morning hours with Grandpa and Dad was pretty special for the boys. And what better way to end the day than with the whole family gathered around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and building s'mores! When we all got quiet we heard the haunting call of the loons. Another special day was when we went over to the nearby beach on Lake Michigan. The waves were perfect for body surfing and even Grandma got in on the sport! We were glad we brought the bikes so we could explore the back roads and pick wild raspberries. We enjoyed several activities in St. Ignace: Saturday night fireworks, white fish dinner, buy 2 get 3 free Mackinac Fudge, and especially the church-sponsored ferry boat ride under the Mackinac Bridge. A whole new perspective! Thank you Jon and Terri for sharing your lovely property with us. We made some great family memories!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The Eagle's Nest was exactly as described and had plenty of room for our group of 8 adults and 2 kids. The location was great for trips to Sault Ste Marie, Whitefish Point, Tahquemenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, St Ignace, etc... The house itself was very open and is right on the lake. The kids had fun splashing in the water while the adults fished or sat around the campfire. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with :)Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We had the most wonderful week at this house. The owners made us feel so welcome. The lake is perfect for a family with kids who love the water!!! And safe too. You can wade out sooo far.Our 3 and 5 yr grandchildren had a wonderful time in the water. We were able to relax and watch from the beach while they played in the water in their life preserver. The older children had fun further out which was just a foot or so deeper. The house is very open and has a beautiful, serene view of Brevort Lake. We highly recommend this vacation rental. It is also a great location for day trips to Tahquemenon Falls, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, St Ignace, Oswalds Bear Ranch...... wonderful Thank you so much for sharing your home with. You were so kind and accomodating to all of us.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We just got back from a wonderful week at this lovely cottage. Everything has lived up to the great reviews, especially the warm hospitality of the owners. Loved the decor and cleanliness of the cottage, easy access to the water - great for kayaks!!- we will bring our own next time - do bring any boats etc if you have them. Most of the lakeshore is national forest so it is very quiet and peaceful on the lake, we used the paddle boat to fish - which would be impossible in other sports lakes. The lake is very shallow for about 50 yds from shore with a sandy bottom - great for kids - some mussel shells once in a while though. We would have stayed the whole summer if we could but then this place is for sharing as the lovely owners have meant it to be. Have a great time!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Why the Owner Chose St. Ignace:
I love the area and so do my grandchildren, I built this first and lived in it while I built a house next door.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
All outdoor activities, we are at the end of a private road so there is virtually no traffic, and my grandkids can play without worring about them. We adjoin the Hiawatha national forest. I love the quietness and solitude!
