We visited the Eagle's Nest in Moran in February of 2012 with our Pond Hockey Team of 6 Guys. The cabin was perfect for the group with all of the ammenities of home, not to mention the great view overlooking Brevoort Lake. Jon, the owner lives right next door and was beyond welcoming when we arrived late thursday night and bent over backwards to meet some of our off the wall needs. All in all....GREAT CABIN, GREAT VIEWS, GREAT VALUE!!!! We have already reserved the Eagle's Nest for next years tournament and look forward to many more!!

Our hunting party of 8 men thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home/cottage. It is very well set up with everything you would need. Just unpack, sit back and enjoy. The view from the deck is outstanding. Everyone in the group wished our stay was much longer. If you need a quiet spot, with no traffic, just the sound of Loons on the lake, this is it. We will be back again. Owners are very easy to work with, and responsive to your inquiries. Outstanding experience!

We where looking for a fall weekend get away up north and found this cabin. When we where going up I was expecting it to be nice, but it was even better than amazing. Its a new place to get away for our family and the pictures on here do not do it enough justice. The view is amazing, the lake is amazing, the cabin is amazing, the colors where amazing, and it is in a perfect area to see anything you want on the western side of the U.P. We are already looking at what time we want to come up again because of how amazing it was. We will be using this for often, if I could afford it I would rent it out for the year. If you are looking to get away with your spouse or your family this trip would be more than they could expect. I encourage you to surprise your spouse or family with get away and enjoy all the area has to offer. The owner are kind, loving, and will make your stay exactly what you want it to be.

Eagles Nest was the perfect spot for our family get-together. First, it sits beautifully on a Brevort Lake with large grass lawn for kids to run around. Gentle sloped sandy bottom lake was perfect for our 3year old nieces to play and swim in. Older kids were in and out of the lake kayaking (which we brought), paddle boat (which was on the property), swimming and fishing all day. In the evenings, we had fire by the water making smores. Lake Michigan is close by and we went there couple of times to play in the bigger lake and waves on the days we wanted something different. Kitchen is well equipped and nice and open. The airconditioning was nice on days when it was humid. We were flying from West Coast, so all the linens being provided was super too. Only thing you have to be aware is that the whole living section is on the third floor of the house. Great for views but not so great if you have mobility problem. Jon and Terri are very nice and welcoming. We had a fantastic time playing in the water but my favorite was sitting on the huge deck over looking the lake in the morning before rest of the family got up with a cup of coffee and listening to the loons cry. What great memory we will have for years to come!! Thanks, Jon and Terri!

This was a wonderful cottage and location for our family vacation with 2 families. There was more than adequate space for all 10 of us. The cottage was nicely located within easy traveling distance for all the sites we went to see (Painted Rocks, White Fish Point, St Ignace, and Mackinac Island). The weather was beautiful, the lake water was refreshing, and all the kids loved to go out on the paddle boat. The owner and his family were very friendly, helpful and a pleasure to meet. I would highly recommend this cottage for someone who is planning a trip to the Upper Peninsula.

Just spent 4th of July week with 2 families (5 kids). House is fantastic- all wood interiors, lots of space, great amenities. Yard (or more appropriately, "grounds") is incredible. Beautiful lawn, flowers, trees, manicured maintenance. Overall, everything far exceeded what you would expect in a rental cottage. Nice beachfront, views, great swimming, firepit (with wood), it's all there. Only about 10 minutes to beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan, 20-25 minutes from St. Ignace/ Mackinac Island ferries. Was a little concerned about owner next door/potential lack of privacy, but that wasn't an issue. You can't really see either of the adjacent homes to any extent due to the trees on the property, and anyway, Jon is a great guy, and really wanted to make sure everything was right during our stay. One note- the house is at the top of a big flight of stairs. Not a problem for us, and the height= great views, but could be an issue for someone if their mobility is limited.

I brought a bunch of high schoolers to stay here and it was very nice to have the peace and quiet of the Eagle's Nest. At the same time, the proprietor took great care of us. He was a great contact for finding great food and I could count on his help when we were in need of things. The house is very new and clean and has a great view of the lake and a nice backyard. If I have the chance, I will definitely come back to the Eagle's Nest.

The place is beautiful! We were only there for the weekend. Needed a place with a big open kitchen and this fit the bill and then some. Our daughter had a private wedding at another cabin on the lake and we fixed the food for all the entertainment at our cabin. The place was in like new condition. I loved the master bedroom with the walk-in closet and private bathroom. The view of the lake with the Fall colors was spectacular.

If you are looking for a private, quiet, clean and modern place to relax ... this is it. The lake is amazing ... shallow, clean, quiet, sandy bottom, few, if any, weeds ... and you can walk a long way out and still be only waist deep. And if you like loons to start your morning and end your day ... this is it. The house has all the modern conveniences (bring your own incidentals like toilet paper, paper towels, waste bags, etc.) and is a great jumping-off point for day trips to Munising, Mackinac, the Shipwreck Museum, Sault St. Marie, and others. There are three good-sized bedrooms, so it is ideal for a family gathering or vacation. The owners live next door and are helpful, available and just nice folks. They'll make you feel welcome and be there to help if needed. Would we come back? Absolutely.

We had a great week at the Eagle's Nest. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, or better hosts. The cabin was well kept and in a great location. It was so nice to have Jon & Terri living right next door. They took very good care of us! They are very kind and caring people and did whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. This is one vacation that we will always remember. Needless to say, we were very sad to leave on Saturday morning. If we ever have another opportunity, we would definately stay here again! Thank you for sharing your place with my husband & I and our 3 children along with our friends and their 4 children. We had a great time!

We were looking for a place that our 4 grown children, their spoues and special friends could all stay, also our 18 month old Grand-baby and us!! Well we found it here!! We had a great time! The cabin was awsome, and Jon and Terri were so nice. It is a must stay!! Not far from things to see and do, but far enough to find peace and quite. We enjoyed every moment. We stayed a week and we had a great time!! I have already told co-workers, friends and family about this place !! Money and time well spent !! God Bless

My family and I spent a week at the Eagle's nest and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and very roomy. We had ten people staying in the end and everyone had plenty of room and slept well every night. The house is very clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable with plenty of clean linens. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The main living area has an open floor plan with an island separating the kitchen/dining room from the living room. There is plenty of lighting options from recessed lighting to wall sconces to fit whatever need; reading, watching movies, playing games. There are 2 sliding glass doors that open onto a balcony overlooking the backyard and lake. Awesome views. There is a table and chairs on one end of the balcony as well as chairs at the other end to just enjoy the views. There are a lot of stairs to enter the house, so if you have someone in your party with mobility issues be warned. We enjoyed everything about this vacation home. The only drawback was no WIFI or television channels (I like to catch up on the news but I brought my IPAD and made do that way.) However, they have a DVD player and VHS player with stocked movies. The lake is beautiful. We pedalled out every day on the pedal boat (What a blast!). The lake is pretty shallow for quite a ways out with extremely clean water. (No rocks YEAH!) There is a gorgeous lawn down to the lake with lots of room and a lovely firepit down a small path near the pedal boat landing. The front of the house had a basketball hoop which my nieces really enjoyed playing with. The drive into St. Ignace is about 25 minutes, but what a lovely drive. We preferred to drive the back way through the woods and down US 2 for the beautiful lake views instead of the freeway. We had pasties from Suzie's (not sure of the spelling) just west of St. Ignace and they were delicious. You have to try a pasty when you're Up North. There are a lot of places to visit while in this area. We visited Oswald's Bear Ranch in Newberry. Another day we visited Taqhuamenon Falls and Whitefish Point Lighthouse. If you've never been to either they are well worth the visit. A dozen miles or so west of St. Ignace along US Highway 2 there are lovely beaches to enjoy Lake Michigan. Thank you Jon for a wonderful vacation place. We would love to return sometime. Your vacation home is such a lovely surprise to find in some of God's most beautiful country. God Bless!

We were looking for a wonderful home, with beautiful views to stay at when we met our friends from the Lower Peninsula half-way for a get away weekend. We found it in the Eagles Nest. What a beautiful home, beautiful setting and the view amazing. We had a great time. We had more than enough room for the four of us. One morning while drinking coffee on the deck I watched an eagle soar over the lake and above the trees. Amazing! It was a short drive to St Ignace for dinner at the Thai/Chinese Restaurant for dinner, and breakfast at Java Joe's. We also enjoyed cooking in the great kitchen. We would all go back again. Maybe when it was warmer return and bring our kayaks, possibly even our adult children. We really had the best of times.

WE LOVED THIS PLACE! Our family, which consist of me and my husband and our three adult kids, just got back from this house after a week vacation. I would recommend this to all. It has things for all age groups. Jon and Teri are the most gracious hosts! They welcomed us as good friends. Having the owners living right next door was such an asset...they were very informative on the different destinations that we visited. The house is a very nice, relaxing place to stay while your in the Upper Peninsula. We would give this house a 5 star rating!
