This is a stylish home in a tranquil neighborhood firmly ensconced in a lush tropical setting. The neighborhood is the site of a former sugar plantation, a central, the likes of which were once ubiquitous in Puerto Rico. As such, the land is gentle rolling hills with lavish greenery throughout. Everywhere you look there a palm trees, ferns, framboyán trees, bougainvilleas and rolling lawns, all very well maintained. There is also a community recreation center with a gym, a swimming pool and tennis courts. And there is a good hiking trail about a couple of miles long that takes you by a graceful lake. The neighborhood is now a gated community located away from the hectic freeways of nearby Caguas and Gurabo, with the house located at the end of a street on a cul de sac. At night the only commotion is that of the tiny Coqui frog, whose croak is a high–pitched whistling sound. If you’re not familiar with it you’ll think someone is whistling at you to get your attention. As for the house itself, Helen has a first class place with a full modern kitchen, a large living area, large bedrooms and a wonderfully lazy veranda that surrounds the house on three sides. Quite often I would have rather stayed sitting on the veranda with my Nook in hand, reading, than getting in the car and driving around the island. In fact, when it came time to leave I would have rather stayed. We have a lot of family there, so there was a lot for us to do. If you don’t have people there, then you’ll have to drive to see the major sights. Nevertheless, if you want to stay in a relaxing, peaceful place away from the hustle of tourists, this is it. The town Caguas is about three miles away. There is a good ice cream parlor on the town square called Rex Cream. I love their coconut ice cream. There are also a couple of good restaurants: Marcelo and Raices. The service at Raices is sometimes spotty, but worth the try. San Juan is about fifteen. When we go back, we know where we’ll be staying. No more lodging in a hotel or staying with family.

Absolutely wonderful

My family and I (hubby, mom, and two sons ages 14 & 22) spent a week in this lovely, roomy, and super clean home. The location was perfect, and the gated community very quiet. My mom and I enjoyed having our coffee outside each morning and listening to the beautiful sounds of the coquis, birds, and palm trees. A wonderful place to relax. Helen, the owner, is very nice to deal with and very detail-oriented. We would not hesitate to rent this beautiful home again the next time we visit PR.

Hello Helen, hope all is well. Nonetheless, the house exceeded our expectations it was one of the most functioning and beautiful house we stood in thus far. We were a party of 5 & all fitted very comfortably, we at times got a little loss in there lol. When leaving the sanctuary to your right there is a delicious plaza with the best breakfast/coffee/desserts. Make sure to visit the Luquillo Beach. But the place was a surprising delight, secured premises and quite. Thank you so much Helen for all of your help and especially for your big home. Also if you want to use the tennis court or basketball court you must supply your own ball and racket. Also you must have a vehicle. Hopefully I will see you soon Helen, Adios.

Relaxation!

We spent a week at Helen's beautiful home. It was peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing. The house was clean and everything we needed was there. This is a great way to visit Puerto Rico without the hassle of moving luggage from place to place. It felt like coming home each evening after a day of exploring or relaxing at the beach. One evening we had a cookout on the grill and just spent our time listening to the sounds of the coqui and playing dominoes. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Helen is reliable and friendly and I recommend this place to anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

A Beautiful and Awesome Place-i love this house!

This was my first real vacation , i really enjoyed San Juan and this place is gorgeous ! I wish i had a home like this one. we each had our own bedroom with a bathroom. the place was clean and well kept. the owner is very nice, it has a patio on the side of the house, its quiet well...except for the mini lizards that live there and Spanish frogs (i forgot what they are called...lol) the community is gated. the only downside was the pool, we didn't realized it wasn't private and there wasn't a computer in the house, other than that...if and when i visit again...i will definitely rent this house....we had an awesome time..the food...the people....um...lovely memories for ever!..if your going to rent a place...this house should be it. We rented a car so we were able to go anywhere we wanted...you definitely need a car to get around...it was worth it . veronica from New York but reside in Pennsylvania.

I WAS VERY PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THIS GREAT VAC. WITH MY FAMILY.THE HOUSE WAS AMAZING CLEAN COMFORTALBE AND SAFE. I HAVE NOT BEEN TO PUERTO RICO IN 22 YEARS AND I WAS NERVOUS BUT I HAD A GOOD COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE OWNER OF THE HOUSE AND SHE MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE. A Well Kept Secret!

We were looking for a central location that would allow us to go in different directions while on a family visit- perfect! Just about a 30 min drive from the airport, 20 mins to our mother's, 10 mins to groceries and shopping area, 10 mins to the turnpike. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated- very comfortable for our combined family of 7! Our young adult children enjoyed spending time in the 'charcas' (small pools) rather than the large swimming pool, and the game room was a hit! Angela has a heart of gold and is a woman of her word!

A Great Place to Relax

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The home is spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The home lies at the end of a cul-de-sac in a very pretty gated community. I liked the view from the back patio. The community club house boasts beautiful swimming pools, which our children loved for an evening swim (the pools close around 10 pm). All told, we found the home to be an excellent value for the rental price. Trips to San Juan, Fajardo, Luquillo, and the rainforest were all convenient. For the rainforest, please note that the southern access to the rainforest has been closed for a long time, so you'll need to drive around to the rainforest entrance from the north. Any supplies that you may need for your stay are easily obtained at Exit 3 on PR-30 (about a 10-minute drive), where there is a mall, Wal-Mart, Costco, Sam's Club, etc. Helen is also responsive in answering any questions you may have by phone. We had a wonderful time, and we recommend this home for your next stay in Puerto Rico.

Dear Helen, My Husband, Daughter and Friends Had a beautiful time at this wonderful home away from home. We stayed at this beautiful relax home for my husband family reunion. We reserve this house because it accomodated 7 to 8 people with comfort. It was better for us to stay together rather then... try to reserve and accomodate seperately. The pool was very nice and the walking trail was just breath taking we saw 2 horses , Ducks , fishes and the coqui ....La Isla de encanto :-) Helen, thank you for opening your house to us. It was everything we all hope for. We will definitely keep this home in our mind for future visit to the Isla de Encanto.... The community is made up of privately-owned homes and very well taken care of. It was very secure. This home was perfect. It was big, bright and clean. Helen was very sweet. She made us feel like it was our home. I hope to go back someday.

We came from Virginia, Texas & Arizona to attend my nephew's wedding. My husband & I wanted to rent a house large enough so that my brother, his sons & their wives could stay there with us, that way we could spend as much time together as possible. I was very excited when I found this home. I explained to Helen that there would be 3 couples plus one. She was very accommodating. The property is located in a gated community not far from the shopping areas. The area is very quiet & peaceful. The house is beautiful. There is a wraparound porch which is very nice. I had my morning coffee there every day. There is also grill to use for a cookout. We chose to eat at the house most of the time, so we made good use of the grill. The common areas (dining, living room & kitchen) are very large & spacious. Everyone had room to sprawl out without getting in each other's way. It was nice to sit & relax. The bedrooms were laid out in such a way that each couple felt as if they had their own private accommodations. From the property description, I thought that there was a pool in the back yard. So I was slightly disappointed when I found out otherwise. My disappointment did not last long. There is a nice community pool which for the most part, we had to ourselves. We purchased blow up floats at Wal-Mart & just lounged around. It was very nice & relaxing. We all had a good time there. This home was everything I hoped it would be. If we have the opportunity to stay here again, we will definitely keep this place in mind. I would definitely recommend this home to others. Thank you again for everything. Tom & Cathy

My husband & I just returned from this beautiful home. I reserved this home because it could accomodate 7 people. Due to circumstances, it was better for all of us to stay together than to try to reserve accomodations individually. Helen was very gracious when I mentioned this. We all arrived - from Texas, Arizona & Virgina to attend my nephew's wedding - wanting to unwind from our hectic schedules. The lay out of the house is really nice. We all had room to relax & not be in each other's way. Although it was quite warm, it was so nice to sit out on the veranda & enjoy the evenings. The pool was wonderful! After the wedding, everyone else went back home & my husband & I stayed here for a few more days & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We took walks along the paths. An added treat was seeing the 2 horses (& new foal) grazing undisturbed in the lush grass along the road near the pool area. Thank you again Helen for opening your home to us!

Great house! Very spacious with a great relax location. Accessible to main roads, yet hidden in a breezy country mountain. The neighborhood is beautiful and has lots of green areas, a trail to jog and a nice club house with pools. We loved the house terrace and spent evenings talking and playing cards with the refreshing breeze. Love the hammock! This is a controlled access location which was a bit annoying to come in and out since we where all adults with different schedules going out at different times. The guards where not very good at keeping track of our names (even thought they had a list) and it was a hassle to get in. We where provided with one access key for the car - which was great - but it was for one car. The house has air conditioning units in all the bedrooms (but one did not cool) and one in the dinning room - so the house was pleasant even though it was hot outside. The kitchen is very spacious - the dishwasher did not work - but it has the basic needs. Make sure to go shopping if you like to cook - there are no condiments provided. The owner is very nice and friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

My family and I intended on staying at a Cousin's house, but it didn't work out. So we were pinched looking for a place. I found this site and immediately called Helen, the owner. We were desperate for a place as we had no sleep for 48 hours. Helen advised it would be available late that evening. We were not disappointed at all, we absolutely loved the place. Great scenery, clean, spacious, well equipped, we were simply in paradise. Helen literally saved our vacation. We have every intention of renting this place for all our family vacations.

The house is perfect, beautiful and everything was super clean, well equipped and well organized. The area was peaceful and refreshing. We stayed with a group of 7 kids that fully enjoyed the house, and its amenities (pool, gardens, club house). The views it’s spectacular with river, lagoon, and a nice tranquility that invite you to relax. We definitely would stay there again and recommended to our firnds. Thank you Helen!!!.
