Excellent Home Away from Home

Guest: KimE (Issaquah WA)
Date of Stay: 04/13/12 Review Submitted: 04/22/12

This house is very comfortable and well equipped, has a great view and is centrally located to much of scenic Southwestern Utah. We very much appreciated thoughtful guest amenities such as soap, shampoo and conditioner, plush bath towels and in the kitchen: cooking spices, saran wrap, foil and ziploc bags. (Those things you don't pack for vacation!) The view of pink cliffs is lovely from the hilltop. One evening in the valley below, we saw a herd of deer walk to a lake to drink! The owner made sure we knew of an approaching snowstorm the day of our arrival and our questions about Internet service were responded to promptly and efficiently. We recommend this property. Lease with confidence!

What a delight!

Guest: Cindi (Oceanside, California)
Date of Stay: 09/03/11 Review Submitted: 09/16/11

We had a wonderful time in the Aerie! The owner's thought of everything - a video room for the kids, robes in every room - including one for the kids, swinging chairs out on the deck, fire pit in the back, books and dvd's, tourism guides .......you name it, they had it! Very clean and modern. We will definitely go back!

Owner response:Thanks, Cindi, for the kind words, and I look forward to having you back.

Our best vacation yet!

Guest: Chad and Jarae (Newberg, OR)
Date of Stay: 08/14/11 Review Submitted: 08/31/11

We came to Utah to explore the parks (Bryce, Zion, Cedar Breaks and the North Rim), and we were so glad to have this quiet house to return to each day. After seeing the online photos--and reading the glowing reviews--we had high expectations, which were completely exceeded once we arrived. We can't say enough about the view, and we could've easily spent the whole week just parked in the chairs on the deck. This home is perfectly situated, and we appreciated the attention to detail, the comfort, and the beauty both indoors and out. Our only complaint: it was very, VERY hard to leave. We hope to return!

Owner response:Thank you so much for your feedback, and I'm so glad you had a pleasant stay. I'd be glad to have you back.

Beautiful cabin!

Guest: Peggy & John (Waldron, IN)
Date of Stay: 06/04/11 Review Submitted: 06/12/11

This "cabin" far exceeded my expectations. The living room furniture (chair, loveseat & sofa) was so comfortable to relax in (unlike other rentals I've been in)! The beds, bedding & pillows enabled us to get a good night's sleep. I know these seem like small things, but they greatly enhance the vacation experience. It's obvious that the cabin is kept clean & well-maintained - it still looks brand new. The owner, Ann, responded very promptly to all of my inquiries. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is planning a vacation to this area. Besides visiting Zion & Bryce National Parks we went to Pink Coral Sand State Park - what an unexpected treat that was! Anyone with children should go there - the kids will love it!

Owner response:I am glad to hear you had such a great vacation. And thank you for the kind words about the cabin. I do strive to offer my guests the best possible lodging experience during their visit to such a magnificent part of the country.

Fantastic May Utah getaway!

Date of Stay: 05/10/11 Review Submitted: 05/19/11

What a wonderful and unique cabin! We went to Utah for a family hiking vacation and the Aerie was the perfect launching point! It is a gorgeous cabin, just as described. Very comfortable with many extras. We saw mule deer every night just off the large deck. Also, we loved having an attached garage. We flew in and out of Las Vegas, an easy and scenic 4 hour drive. We drove through Zion on our way to the cabin for the first time and were amazed at the landscape in that area. Be sure you do stop at a grocery on the way and stock up. We hiked Zion, Bryce (be sure and take the drive to Rainbow Point), Red Canyon, Snow Canyon and Kodachrome Basin State Park in one week. All are within easy driving distance of the Aerie. We also went horseback riding in Red Canyon. Beautiful! We experienced weather from 23 degrees and snow (on Cedar Mountain) to 90 degrees in St. George. It was awesome! Unfortunately, Cedar Breaks was still closed because of tremendous winter snows, but we would have loved to see it. Be sure and take the drive on route 14 to Cedar City, it is worth it! Thanks to Ann for making all transactions easy, and for timely and accurate communications. We plan on coming back.

Owner response:I truly appreciate it when my guests take the time to post feedback on their stay at The Aerie. And I'm so glad to hear of your pleasant stay, Sue.

We recently had the pleasure of spending a week at this well appointed cabin. The location was ideal for our many day trips to Bryce, Zion and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a relaxing retreat in southern Utah.

The cabin and the property were actually more beautiful than the photos could capture. It was clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. Plenty of wildlife right at the cabin. What a view from the deck! It was a perfect base for our excursions to Bryce, Zion, Cedar Breaks and Dixie National Forest. Ann and Rick provided us with all the information and amenities we needed for the best vacation we've ever had.

Wonderful vacation home

Date of Stay: 06/28/10 Review Submitted: 07/07/10

Fabulous home - the photos cannot capture the beauty of the property and the spectacular view. This home was a vey comfortable, well appointed property at a great location for exploring Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon North Rim. The immediate area boasts Dixie Nat'l Forrest, Cedar Breaks Nat'l Monument and Brian Head, with chair lifts running in the summer as well. We enjoyed early mornings on the deck, watching the birds and wildlife. Don't miss Aunt Sue's Chalet, especially for breakfast, in nearby Duck Creek village, population 60.

Owner response:We thank all our guests for taking the time to post feedback about their stays at The Aerie.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at your home. My children couldn't believe that this was the place we were staying while we were in Utah. Very clean and neat. I almost am sad that we spent so much time hiking and sight seeing and didn't make time to enjoy your home more. Have recommended it to my friends. Thanks again for sharing your home with us. Hope to stay another time.

We have stayed here twice in Nov 09 and May 10. It is a fabulous property, even better than the photographs. It is clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you could need. We thorougly enjoyed our stay, the views are magnificent and the location to visit Bryce, Zion and Kanab is excellent. Duck Creek is not to missed especially the pie at Aunt Sue's chalet.. We have small children and the travel crib and highchair being provided were excellent touches. The owners were very easy to deal with and very prompt in replying to any query. We would love to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and cared for. It was the perfect base for us as it is half way between Bryce and Zion Parks. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked all but one of our meals there. We drove in from Las Vegas and stocked up on groceries at St. George. The Millericks are also excellent to deal with. Totally above board. Don't hesitate, this place is a real gem and no they are not paying me for this review!

We enjoyed four days at this beautiful mountain ridge home in September '09 and it was spectacular. Ann and Rick have provided a warm, homey environment with all amenities needed for a memorable getaway. The location is ideal between Bryce and Zion, yet very quiet, and serene for nature-sitings and star-gazing - and the VIEW! WOW! Some nice golf courses and local restaurants nearby. We hope to return for an extended stay. This rental is a real find and an exceptional value.

What a beautiful home this is!! The location was perfect for dividing time between Zion and Bryce Canyon. The peace and quiet were a refreshing experieince. We had never seen the Hammaka hanging chairs but fell in love with them. The superb attention to every little detail left little or nothing to be desired. It's been an extraordinary pleasure being Ann and Rick's first guests of this lovely cabin!!

The Aerie - Bryce Canyon area

Guest: Ronin (Lexington, KY)
Date of Stay: 04/27/09 Review Submitted: 05/22/09

I stayed at The Aerie during the last week of April 2009 and can say without hesitation that it was an absolute wonderful experience. The cabin faces east with a sweeping view of the Paugaunsunt Cliffs, so one has the opportunity to enjoy both magnificent sunrises and sunsets in great comfort from both the covered deck and from inside the cabin. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunrise over the mountains while sipping coffee on the deck in the mornings. The way the sun lit up the cliff-facings as it set in the evenings, with the cliffs changing from red to pink, was magnificent. There is abundant wildlife in the area. Each day there were a number of mule deer grazing just off the deck area and one morning I observed several elk bedded down at the bottom of the hill (a highly unexpected treat) near the highway entrance. Also saw wild antelope and golden eagles within a few miles of the cabin. The location is perfectly situated to reaching Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks and the Grand Escalante Staircase, all of which are within easy driving distance. Never have I seen such amazing and varying landscapes within such a short distance of each other. You can literally go from desert terrain to aspen forests in the matter of a few miles. Las Vegas is also an easy drive and provides convenient access to air travel. The Aerie’s amenities and attention to detail were outstanding and made it feel warm and home-like. The cabin is extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed, perfect for a either a couple or an entire family. Ann & Rick are exceptionally attentive to making your stay care-free, which was most appreciated. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and one I look forward to repeating. I most definitely recommend a stay at The Aerie.
