We stayed at this beautiful townhome at Mainsail over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful vacation. The place is decorated very nice and the new bedroom suite in Master is gorgeous. Love the huge granite shower also. The weather was very nice and enjoyed the Direct TV flat screen for the football games. Heated pool is a plus also. Owner gave us a great rate and have already set up a trip next year to the same place in Mainsail becuase we love how personal and quiet the resort is. Our kids loved the built-in bunks and the heated pool also. Keyless entry was very convenient and the A/C was very cool when we needed it. Acess to the beach is really close also. Loved how the oulet mall was so close we could have actually walked there if we wanted to. See you next year

We got together for our annual reunion and could not have experienced a better time. Place was nicely decorated and the bathrooms (all 3) are beautiful with all the granite. Beach service is great with a set-up daily. Working out at the on-site fitness is perfect, treadmills/weights is more than we needed..Happy hour at Marina Cafe (great sushi prices) is a plus just a few minutes down the road.plus shopping at the Destin commons is awesome!..Loved the main floor tile and the keyless entry was convenient..the price by far is very reasonable and we like VRBO over a hotel anytime...Mainsail is friendly and both pools are kept up nicely...Can't wait untill next September to do it all over again!

We stayed in this townhome from 8/11 – 8/20. We loved the location and the easy access to the beach, the beach service was a plus. I agree with the last renters regarding the condition of the furniture as it was in poor condition and the beds also need to be updated. It has been a month since our departure and have not heard back regarding our deposit, we have called the owner twice and left messages asking for a call back but we have not heard back. We love Destin and we will be back but we will definitely stay somewhere else! We always use VRBO for our vacations and this has been the first time that we had to ask for our deposit back.
Owner response:Our place has new furniture as of fall 2011 as our pictures show plus our deposit returns are prompt. We also accept PayPal if preferred to the US mail which was the delay in this instance.

We typically stay in a hotel, but decided to go with a VRBO to accommodate our growing family. We had an all-around positive experience, but we will stay somewhere else next time. Pros: 1. Great location - close to everything! 2. Resort is great. Pools, kiddie area, beach, etc... 3. This townhome has a new kitchen, baths, and lots of attractive tile. 4. Loved the patio, TV, and beach service daily. Lots of nice extras. Cons: 1. Some furniture needed replaced (especially the broken down recliner in the living room). Some had stains. 2. Upstairs carpet was stained and smelled. There was bare subfloor in the landing area upstairs. 3. Linens were worn/stained and shower curtains had mildew, which also smelled. 4. The pool area is closed in the morning, so you have to walk around the parking lot to go to the beach. 5. We had to ask for our deposit back after 3 weeks, as the owner forgot to send it.
Owner response:In response to latest review, all of the "con" items have been addresed and taken care of. Our home is professionaly cleaned after each stay and we have never had a complaint. Older furniture has been replaced with new. We provide free beach service, wi-fi, and great rates being so close to the private beach. we offer significant discounts during non-peak periods. Three week deposit return is normal although we try to for 2 weeks. We feel very proud of the uprgrades we provide and feel confident staying at our place will be very comfortable and pleasant.

perfect place for a quiet beach vacation...our kids loved the white sand private beach..Beach set-up was a nice bonus also..townhome is nicely decorated with plenty of room..Big screen is great for watching sports plus the digital music channels are nice to chill out with..Pools and fitness center were definately a thumbs up..We will be back next year!..

The place was perfect for our trip.Cost is affordable because the view isn't there..but for the money you get a beautiful townhome with newly remodeled bathrooms and lots of tile. Short stroll to beach with no roads to cross was important since we have young children. Both pools are very nice if you want to take a break from the surf...We liked the outdoor grills at both pools. Used them often to make dinner. Free internet was nice plus a nice TV also.. Mainsail is quiet and worked great for us!

The Townhome is great...much bigger than we thought..like a home away from home..Decorated very nice..big outdoor areas for our kids to play..they had a wonderful time..Parking at your front door is a plus also..great pool down by beach which by the way is such an easy stroll to...Very family oriented...We will be back next year!
