Great Deal, Cozy and Comfortable

In response to the review below..I was the other party staying in the cottage during the same trip 6/18. Both myself and one other person who was there were very happy with the place and actually really did not want to leave it. I looked for a rental for a long time before choosing this one and this was definitely the best deal out there. It was very cozy and comfortable and had pretty much everything you need for a long stay - dishes, barbeque grill, washer and dryer, beach towels, even shampoo and conditioner. Not to mention it's walking distance to the beach. The cottage is located behind another house which was no big deal. We were there for a week and only saw the other tenants the first day, so there was a lot of privacy. The couch was comfortable, and the fact that the fan in the living room didnt work was no big deal either. The weather is so nice all you need to do is open the windows and the place cool..and there is an a/c unit in the bedroom. However, I know that if we would have called Todd about it he would have had it fixed right away. He has been very pleasant and attentive, and really cared about the quality of our stay. I would definitely rent this place again and recommend it to others.

Carlsbad stay

The cottage was clean and fully furnished, but was discouraged to find that the fan in the living room did not work. There were no fans in the bedrooms. The couch was covered with a blanket as the couch was coming apart. With another family living in the main house, I felt there was no privacy. I enjoyed staying in Carlsbad, but I would not stay at this facility again.

Owner response:This was my first negative review. I wasnt notified of the issue with the fan. I fix everything immediately and it has been fixed. I do list on the VRBO add that the property is shared by two houses. Its not a completely private home. The backyard is shared. At any rate, to future tenants, I want you to feel comfortable knowing that you have a landlord that is responsive to the needs of the tenants.

We rented this cottage in early May. It was absolutely pristine with lovely linens on the beds and plenty of plush towels in the bathroom. We loved the location, within walking distance to the beach and we visited the lagoon daily to watch for rays, fish and birds. The cottage gives you tons of privacy. It is located off the street and behind another house surrounded by mature plantings. Our only word of caution is that the train goes by regularly and can be quite startling if you are not used to urban sounds. We adjusted to it quickly and found a good night's sleep for the duration of the week. There are two adorable French bulldogs that live in the courtyard outside the cottage. If you love dogs, you'll love these guys! They are so sweet and comical. I also wanted to mention that the kitchen was really well appointed and had lots of counter space. We chose this place for its proximity to Lego- a ten minute drive. Perfect! We would definitely rent again here.

Carlsbad Beach Casita stay

Even though the cottage was not prefectly clean upon arrival ; the owner responded immediately. The owner is very conciencious, kind and concerned for your comfort. My son was coming in from Afganistan and we wanted him comfortable, not in a hotel, my son loves Carlsbad Beach. The Casita/Guest house, worked out very well for us. This home is walking distance to the beach and nicely updated with all the comforts of home.You have city sounds but, most of Carlsbad seems to have this.Weather was perfect.
