This is truly a piece of paradise! My family and I stayed at Wailea Ekahi over the Xmas holiday of 2010-11, in this unit. We hoped to avoid the extreme cost of the hotels while still enjoying the luxurious lifestyle offered in Wailea, and the unit did not disappoint! From the outset, the reservation process was very simple and easy, and the owners were very responsive to all our questions. I thought they might tire of all my emails, but they never did, and responses were always very prompt. Despite the peak season timing, the rates were very reasonable, and a far cry cheaper than the nearby hotels. The listing and website were certainly accurate but hardly do the unit or the property justice. The unit is extremely clean and well-maintained, and very well supplied for our family of four. The bedroom offers adult privacy, the murphy bed was ample for our teenage daughters, and the second bathroom for their use was a life-saver! The kitchen was immaculate and well stocked, allowing us to do almost all our own cooking and saving a fortune in meals. The unit is located in the upper portion of the Ekahi Village property, and the lanai backs onto the green space and lush gardens, giving it a very private feel. We didn't even see other guests unless we ventured off our lanai! Extremely quiet pools are a stone's throw away, and even the main pool and beach access are a very pleasant and easy walk down the hill, usually about 10 minutes though that is with stopping to smell the hibiscus! It also saved the hassle of trying to find parking closer to the beach. The beach immediately off the property is accessed through a keyed gate, ensuring privacy and security. The beach itself is lovely, with long stretches free of rocks, soft sand, and a decent stretch of water before getting deep. It is also almost always quiet, especially compared to the Wailea hotels and the beaches of nearby Kihei. Whales are a common sight, and easily visible from the beach or main pavillion, not to mention consistently beautiful sunsets! I would definitely recommend the property and the unit to others - we already have a return trip planned!

My husband and I stayed at this great unit in January 2011. We have stayed at Ekahi about four times before, always on a top floor unit. We were a little hesitant about the ground floor but this unit converted us. It has a huge lanai and spilling out onto the grass was wonderful. We sat out on the lanai for most meals, happy hour, morning coffee, reading, naps and bird watching. Very private, very quiet, great mix of shade and sun. The unit was very clean, well equipped and very spacious. Master bathroom is lovely. We never needed the A/C as the fans were more than enough. Appreciated the safe for passports, the beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas. We love Ekahi Village with its beachside pool area and easy access to the beach. Ekahi's gardens and grounds are lovely and very well maintained. Keawakapu Beach is spectacular. We swam, snorkelled, boogie boarded and rented stand up paddle boards. Easy walk via beach or sidewalks to restaurants and shopping. My husband does a lot of road riding and did a lot of cycling on Maui. I run and the area is very safe, great for running and walking. We enjoyed our stay so much that we tried to extend it but the unit was booked. The owner is very good to deal with, with prompt replies and clear contracts and rental details. This unit was our first choice for a return visit in 2012.

My family and I have stayed in this condo two years in a row now. We love it because it is extremely close to the pool, a short walk to to the beach, and also walking distance to the Shops at Wailea. It is in beautiful Ekahi Village, with plenty of grass for kids to play out front. It has an extra large bedroom, plus a murphy bed (as well as futon mattresses) so that our family of four can spread out at bedtime. The kitchen and closets are stocked with everything we need to make ourselves at home. We love being able to bbq and eat all of our meals outside on the lanai and enjoy the gorgeous views. Great for families, or couples. When can we come back? : )
