This home was once owned by the Sahara Tahoe Hotel and Casino (now the Horizon Casino) and was used to provide private accommodations for it's star performers. The eccentric decor of the bathrooms was retained for nostalgia and includes hand painted imported sinks, elaborate fixtures, mirrored walls, extensive tile and hand painted murals. The home is located on a cul-de-sac in a quiet and secure area of the exclusive Skyland community.
Enjoy breath-taking views of Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay in the distance from our deep water pier, or the expansive outdoor deck. The pier is a rare amenity that is 220 feet long and 15 feet wide at the pier head and includes a catwalk and swim ladder - your private island in the sun. The deck is over 1600 SF and includes a hot tub, firepit, dining table and gas B-B-Q.
The home is over 4300 SF. The entry, bedrooms and dry sauna are on the upper level where it is quiet and relaxing. The kitchen & great room, family room, and billiard room are on the mid level. The oversized kitchen is fully equipped with a Sub Zero refrigerator, separate freezer, ice-maker and Wolfe gourmet stove for those that like to cook.
This is a family home where you will find a foosball table, billiards, board games, cards, dice, checkers and chess. There is a bookshelf full of books and a DVD/VCR library for you to enjoy. The kitchen & great room are finished in terra cotta tile and can be gated off to accommodate pets. Because of limited parking and respect for our neighbors, this home is not suitable for group functions, including parties or weddings, and is expressly prohibited in the rental agreement.

Why the Owner Chose Zephyr Cove
The east shore provides some of the most scenic views of Lake Tahoe. It has warm afternoons and fabulous sunsets. It is close to South Shore casinos offering world class entertainment and food. The home is situated 60 feet from the trailhead to National forest lands where there is hiking and private beaches to discover. In the summer you can hike (less than 1 mile) through the forest to the Zephyr Cove pier where water sports are available to include boating, catamarans, canoes, windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, beach volleyball and the famous Dixie paddleboat cruise. There is also indoor and beach dining at Zephyr Cove. In the winter it is a short drive to Heavenly Valley Ski Resort that hosts snow boarding, snow skiing, zip lining (Heavenly Flyer) and a children's play area (Adventure Peak). The Kahle Community Center has a gym, indoor courts, indoor track and outdoor sports field.

My husband, Mark, spent many treasured childhood summers at Lake Tahoe. His grandparents, Ernest and Nellie, purchased lakefront property in Lake Tahoe in 1922 which was a legacy that lasted three generations. The Lake is a sanctuary for Mark - a place to re-charge from his hurried life and reacquaint himself with nature. When the family property was sold in 2007, Mark knew he wanted our children to experience Lake Tahoe in the same way so we acquired this wonderful home in Zephyr Cove.
