This is a wonderful choice for a relaxing stay on the north shore. Excellent location adjacent to Ali'i Beach Park for surfing or an easy stroll into Haleiwa town. The listing was accurate, and the unit owner Craig was very helpful with questions over the phone or email before arrival, and a very accommodating host after arrival. Transit bus line runs right by the property for those who want to leave the driving to others. Check out the Waialua farmer's market on Saturday morning, and the Haleiwa farmer's market on Sunday morning.

Great location!!! Haleiwa Town is so relaxing. Great beach right out the door. Fantastic sunsets from the lanai. The very clean corner unit has a great cross breeze and keeps the place very cool. Not too bad of a walk to town. Day trips are very close. Good snorkeling out front, and equipment with unit. Would highly recommend it. Stay out of Waikiki at all costs.

Perfect Haleiwa beach front location

We have been to the Northshore many times and really love staying in this location, away from the crazy Sunset Crowds yet right on the water. There are almost always Turtles on the Beach in Haleiwa and the beach is perfect for a short run walk and getting into the water. The condo is very nice, incredible ocean view. The condo complex is very quiet and enjoyable. For the price this is the best deal on the Island. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful ocean view, quiet location, all the amenities one would want, big screen t,v,, moivies, full stocked kitchen, beach gear, breakfast out on the patio, listening to the waves, and the birds, lazy days on the Haleiwa coast. Craig went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect, and it was. Thank you Craig, look forward to spending another vacation at your place.

We had a nice time at your condo, even though the weather was bad. The condo was clean and well maintained. A nice surprise was the box of Macademia nut chocolates laying on the table at our arrival. At first I was concerned about the stairs to the third floor but it was no problem at all! We would recommend your condo and hope we will be able to come back some day. Mahalo Craig

DH and I stayed four nights during February 2012. The condo is ON the beach and the sound of the surf from anywhere within the condo is just wonderful. The bed was comfortable. The TV is state of the art, and wireless internet provided. We enjoyed coffee on the lanai every morning. Being able to make meals at "home" saves a lot of money. But the one thing you just can't beat is the location. Walk out the door an into the ocean. Thanks Craig.

Great place to stay

This condo was just as described unobstructed ocean view, and has every thing you need. This condo was very clean. It is on the 3rd floor and we were comfortable leaving the sliding glass open all night although you could hear the ocean with it closed. Leaving the windows open provides a nice breeze through the condo keeping it cool. Haleiwa is a friendly small town. We were able to walk there easily aprox half mile or so. Just a short drive to town if you prefer and parking is available. We were able to run from this condo daily on mostly level park right along the beach. Craig is very nice and as helpful as you want him to be. Thank you Craig we will for sure return and recommend this condo. We also enjoyed being able to swim at the beach right there and we saw a turtle and other sea life, it was a short drive to see surfing contests and hudge waves, beautiful beaches and enjoying beautiful foliage at Waimea valley. We loved eating at killer tacos in Haleiwa. Thanks again Craig.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Craig's condo. He was very friendly and accommodating, and the suite is comfortable, airy and right on the beach.... after two weeks in Wacky Wacky Waikiki, this was a truly relaxing experience, the sound of surf from every part of the place. the condo was exactly as described!! It was right on the beach with a nice, protected area for snorkeling,saw too many turtles to count in the water and sunning themselves on the beach. Haleiwa was beautiful, quiet, laid-back,relaxing and had just the right amount of shops & restaurants.We loved Kono's for breakfast and Mackey shrimp truck for lunch. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai and most mornings got to listen to the voices of the pre-school keiki's singing and learning the ABC's at the school on the property next door. The condo was very clean,bed was comfortable,the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Owner Craig was extremely nice, easy to work with----we will definitely stay here again. Craig thought of everything, even has snorkel equipment,surf board, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels--just bring your swimsuit!!!!

Craig was so helpful, and the condo was great. I enjoyed watching the turtles pop their little heads up and look around. Great location, clean & comfortable unit, the whole family felt at home. If you're used to being pampered and have a hard time making it on your own then continue north to Turtle Bay. If you want a comfortable laid back respite and are able to think for yourself than look no further for a killer North Shore home base. Craig is an awesome host, totally hip to your wants and needs if you communicate. We really enjoyed our time talking with him. The beach is awesome and it's so close to your door that you won't want to go anywhere the kids LOVED IT! Great sand, turtles, good snorkeling...Perfect. This was a great location to relax and indulge in Aloha. Take in breakfast at the Haleiwa Cafe, lunch at Spaghetinnis or a local shrimp truck, then dinner at Cholo's, Haleiwa Joes, LB's, all of the restaurants in town are great and easy to access from the condo. The only bad experience we had was being ignored at Breakers for 30 minutes before we walked out and went across the street. By far one of the best condo's and experiences we've ever had in our travels to Hawaii. Mahalo Craig!

We stayed at Craig's condo for a week in Sept, and I tell ya..WE LOVED everything about this condo. It's a beachfront condo, very clean, very quiet, well stocked and great location. Walking distance into town for shopping, dining. But what we loved the most is the beach. We got a great view of the ocean from the lanai, water was beautiful. Great for snorkeling, swimming, or just laying out in the sun. Very few people on the beach, so it's like staying on your own private beach. Craig was very easy to work with. and he was very flexible with me. He was very helpful. So we really appreciate that. So as Im writing this review, Im already planning to stay again next year. The Best Haleiwa Surf Condo We Have Stayed in the last 7 years!

In the last seven years we have been attending the Bon Service and Toro (Floating Lantern) Nagashi at Haleiwa Jodo Mission right next door to Haleiwa Surf Condo's. Craig's unit is the best unit we have ever stayed in. It is located on the 3rd floor which is a quiet, secluded corner unit with a ocean front and ocean view. We relaxed on the beach and had BBQ's every night and watched the sunset. His unit was updated and felt warm and cozy. Living room has a large flat screen TV (access to Netflex and Pandora) and has internet access as well. This helps keep you in touch with the rest of the world while relaxing in the country of Haleiwa. The unit is also equipped with beach chairs and toys to fit everyone's needs. Craig continues to upgrade his unit to keep his tenants comfortable. The entire building is having a face lift and it's becoming much nicer. Haleiwa town is near by, we recommend visiting there before 10 am. Very nice farmer's market on Sunday mornings. This place is located in very convenient place to explore Northshore. This is a perfect location as you are centrally located to all things you might ever want to see or do on the North Shore. Craig is the perfect host; he went out of his way to accommodate our requests and provided tons of extras that you just won't find with other rentals like beach gear, restaurant recommendations, directions and a wonderful ALOHA SPIRIT! Anything we asked for help with, he was right there to assist us. Plus, access to Netflix and Pandora were a huge plus!! The condo is comfortable and the lanai is just steps from the sand up on the 3rd floor, plus you can sleep in the front room and listen to the ocean waves all night long. Great grocery store and tons of restaurants and shops just down the road. Be sure to visit the Thai food truck while in town; the food is amazing!!! We can't wait to return to Craig's place in Haleiwa! Perfect family vacation for us and our 2 young boys!

We stayed at Craig's condo with our 3 kids (18y, 16y and 12y). This is absolutely the most perfect place to stay! You can just go outside and swim, snorkel (we snorkeled with lots of sea turtles), sit on the beach, walk the beach, etc. We also saved TONS of money by being ale to eat right at the condo. We did enjoy some nice meals out but for the most part being able to eat in was great! The condo is very clean, it is very close to town center, quiet, just great all around. It is also very close to several other beaches, bays, and tourist attractions that you'll be sure to want to visit (Waimea Bay, Three Tables, Polynesian Cultural Center, Matsumoto's or Aoki's for a shave ice and many others). Craig was also very helpful checking in now and then to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this condo. It was the best part of our trip!

Haleiwa was one of the highlights of our four week trip to Hawaii, we certainly did not want to leave. Our home in Haleiwa was Haleiwa Surf which was just perfect. From our third floor we looked down over a grassy lawn and onto the Beach where my children spent their time swimming with sea turtles. If you get the chance, stay here. We booked at the last minute and the owner was very accommodating. We will go back to Haleiwa and we will stay at Haleiwa Surf again.

Great Oceanfront Property

We were very pleasantly surprised when we walked into the condo. The Ocean is 75 ft from the Lanai, shade trees out front, and nice beach front. Craig was very easy to work with, a great host and even treated you to chocolate and wine if you wanted it. The condo was nice and had everything in it we needed to include spices, extra towels, yard chairs, beach umbrella, snorkeling equipment, etc. This area is also good for snorkeling and we saw many different kinds of fish. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again if we come back. You have to try the shrimp (Giovanni's) and Thai (Opal's) truck in town across from McDonald's...wonderful.

The Haleiwa surf Condo was a perfect home for our Oahu vacation. The condo was clean and close to some of the most beautiful areas I have seen. It was a perfect location...within walking distance to quaint shops and resteraunts of Haeiwa and a short drive or bike to some of the most famous surf spots in the world. The beach right in front of our condo was picture-perfect and a great place to snorkel and swim with turtles. The owner was very helpful with directions to the condo as well as with answering any questions we had about the area. I HIGHLY recommend this condo for your Hawaii vacation!

North Shore Haven

Beach and ocean right at your door. Whale watching, turtle observing, frolicking in the shore break, snorkeling. Watching surfers and paddle boarders. Excellent sunsets and even double rainbows. Listening to the surf all day and night. In this clean and comfortable condo, we were able to do all in a relaxed environment. Although there are resturants right in town, we prefered eating in so we could look at the ocean as much as possible. Malama grocery store and Foodland just down the road. Wonderful spot to just kick back and enjoy the ocean. Exactly what we were looking for and needed. Thanks to the owner for his Aloha!

My husband and I rented Craigs condo for 2 weeks. We had an awesome time. Very clean and fantastic views from our lanai. We saw whales and turtles right in front of the condo. We were able to snorkel and watch beautiful sunsets. We loved and would love to go back next year. Not much night life in Haleiwa but that was just perfect for us. Beautiful beaches close by. Lots of relaxation time.

We stayed for 1 week at Craig's condo. This unit is right on the beach, is a top corner unit of a 3 story building. Craig was great to work with, and very accomodating and informative during our stay. He was available but unobtrusive, a great combination. We had two 50-something adults and two 20-something children. Bedroom had a comfortable queen sized futon-style bed, living room a queen sized comfortable sleeper sofa, and 2 twin-sized folding mats we stacked to make a comfortable twin sized bed. We were able to watch the surf break right from the living room. The kitchen is small but well equipped, with a toaster, microwave, stove and refrigerator/freezer, plenty of utensils and dishes, only thing lacking was a cutting board. Bathroom comfortable size, shower head at kind of a low height if that matters. Only downside is 3rd floor location and no elevator. Haleiwa has grocery, pharmacy, several restaurants, a few shave ice places, not much else. We had bad weather several days of our stay, and there was not much to do when rain pouring down, but no fault of the condo. Parking right on site, easy access to Kamehameha Hwy back to Honolulu or up north shore. Novice surfer would not be able to surf on site, but a decent surf beach a mile or so up the shore. Nice cove and beach right in back of the unit (as in 50 feet or so). A week was a little long for Haleiwa, but this condo would be a great spot for a few days or if you just want to watch the waves for a while.

Good place for watching waves and surfers and turtles. The lanai looks right out at the ocean. An unexpected plus was that the frig was full of condiments such as mustard, mayo, salad dressing, etc. The cupboard had oatmeal, popcorn, spices, and oil. Craig was quick to come to our aid when help was needed. He had a lot of helpful information as well!

We stayed in this wonderful condo in early October and wish we could come back as soon as possible. The pictures listed are exactly how the property looks, you will feel the breeze of the ocean as soon as you open the door of the condo. The balcony overlooks the beach, and you could get to the beach in under 60 seconds from walking out the door. The condo is equipped with everything you need, and the owner Craig is very helpful and trustworthy. Stay here!

We had a wonderful time staying in Haleiwa at Craig's condo. Loved the area, lots of things to do. Close to Pipeline and Waimea Bay, and even got to see a large "swell" come through. There is great swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the beach right in front of the condo. We enjoyed seeing the sea turtles sunning themselves on the beach during our morning walks. We ate most of our meals there, and bbq'd several times. The condo is clean and has everything you need. It's beach living not a 5 star hotel, which is exactly what we wanted and we were not disappointed. Craig was very helpful with any questions. Thanks Craig for the wonderful time in Haleiwa! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves as they crash on the beach in front of the condo can only be described as the perfect ending to perfect days. The small town atmosphere of Haleiwa was a wonderful experience and my wife and I enjoyed meeting so many friendly locals. To top it off snorkeling with the turtles and watching them feed in the bay in front of the condo was an experience we will never forget. Lying on the beach and having the turtles come up on shore to sun themselves showed that we aren't the only ones that appreciate this little piece of heaven...the turtles love it too! Condo is simple but was everything that we were looking for. Ate simple meals and snacks at the condo but went out to enjoy our supper at the great local restaurants. Everything is within walking distance if you like to get out and walk along the beach. Often found that we were the only ones out enjoying the beach during the week. Surfing at Sea & Surf with TG was fabulous but be ready to spend at least 3-4 hours in your lesson. Very thorough theory lesson (over 1.5 hours) and then off to fantastic wave after wave. Spend some time enjoying the local business that are owner operated and the passion for their work shows through. Fantastic local artists! Thanks again, Gary & Margo

Craigs condo is all you need to live aloha.. It's clean, it's on the beach away from Waikiki, and much more private than any hotel. I lived in Hawaii for 21 years and went back for a visit. This place is perfect for anyone who wants to blend in with the locals and see the true culture of the North Shore of Oahu. It is in walking distance to many shops , restaurants and beautiful beaches in the most quaint town of Haleiwa. Surf and Sea offers surfing and diving lessons as well as board and kayak rentals right there on a beautiful beach. There is also jet ski rentals at the harbor there. Craig, the owner, is a true gentleman and will do ANYTHING to make your stay comfortable. He IS aloha ! For anyone expecting a fancy "new" hotel-like place, this might not be for you although if want to "feel" the North Shore of Oahu, I recommend this place to anyone who is willing to just "hang loose" and enjoy nature and the culture of Hawaii ...

Beautiful Haleiwa Condo

My 18-year-old twins and I stayed at the Haleiwa condo last week, and I will be recommending it to all of my friends and family--it is about 40 feet from the water, close enough that you can see into the water from the 3rd floor lanai. I enjoyed viewing the ocean from the living room, dining area and kitchen, and could hear the waves from the bedroom. It had a perfect amount of space for the 3 of us, and was just right for a relaxing tropical vacation. We saw a number of sea turtles just a few hundred feet down the beach, and made use of the boogie board and the snorkel set that the owner so thoughtfully provides. We also used the DVD player and the web facility. I'd love to go back for 2 or more weeks!

Everthing you mentioned in your VRBO ad is true and I would recommend anyone looking for a place to stay check this condo out. I liked that the condo is on the 3rd floor...good views and a welcoming offshore breeze. Close enough to "town" to walk...we did daily for coffee, shopping and dinner. Thanks again. We stayed for 3 days here. Craig of the owner is very kind. His unit is functional with cleanliness. It is the place that it is near to do shopping in Haleiwa, and is very convenient. We liked it very much. The view of the sea from Lanai in particular is the best! There were a lot of fish in the sea. We could enjoy nature to the full and became the very good memory. In addition, I want to stay by all means.

My family of five stayed at the Haleiwa Surf Condo for seven days and it was a great experience. Craig is extremely friendly and so easy to work with. The location is wonderful as well - right on the water, two minutes from Haleiwa. It has beautiful views, nice snorkeling and very friendly people. Craig answered all of our questions and made sure we had ample bedding for our kids. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Sea Turtles Every Day!

Spent 10 days at Craig's place and loved it. We were close to everything that we loved. Mountains, ocean, flowers, sea turtles...and we didn't have to live in a high-rise with thousands of other people! The sunsets were perfection and the picnic area gave us a wonderful place to eat. Clean, quiet, and a beautiful setting. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks!

Mahalo Craig for taking such good care of us during our week in your condo. The location is wonderful and the company of the folks living in the complex really made us feel at home. We especially enjoyed sitting with ML every evening as she held "court" on the beach as we all enjoyed some wine and gorgeous sunsets. Thanks to you and your friends for making our anniversary a very special time. Ps. on our way to the airport we drove through Honolulu and Waikiki-Yuck! The North shore is the place to be!!!

Craig's condo was clean and comfortable with a great location right on the beach. If you are seeking luxurious amenities and crowded beaches, this is not the place for you. However, if you enjoy a cup of coffee on a lanai watching the sun come up. Reading a book in the afternoon, on a quiet family oriented beach or just enjoying sunsets with the friendly locals, this is the place and location for you. We hope to be back some day. Aloha

Stayed two nights here, the property was clean and well taken care of. Craig was very easy going and responsive. Balcony overlooks a great quiet beach; you can walk to the beach and hang out there or head a little further north for snorkeling or other water fun. So glad we came here instead of spending all our money at Turtle Bay -- the price is definitely right! And Haleiwa is a great little town to explore; some good restaurants, supposedly the best shave ice in Oahu, a great coffeeshop, and some cool art galleries/shops.

We had a great time on our stay at the Haleiwa Surf Condo. The best part was the location. It was walking distance to cute shops, restaurants, and most important, the beach. We had a great view of the ocean right from the living room. We had coffee on the the deck every morning and watched whales spout and surfers on the waves. We loved that it was not busy like a hotel or resort. We cooked our own food part of the time when we were not wandering about the island. It was also nice to have snorkeling gear to use without having to rent it. Thanks Craig.

We stayed in this condo for two nights before heading to Maui. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the view itself was worth the nightly rate. The pictures posted online reflected the property very well. The complimentry internet was also a plus. The only complaint we had was that the window in the bedroom would not close, so we were awoken each morning very early by the crowing of a rooster right outside the window. Despite this I would definately recommend this property to someone looking for an affordable option for somewhere to stay away from Waikiki. The owner was very, very helpful to us before our trip and responded to all questions very quickly. There are tons of great beaches and restaurants very close by as well.

Owner response:Was not aware of the window louver being broken. I am at the Haleiwa Surf daily to assist my guests in any way possible. The rooster is part of the essence of being in the country. We stayed here in January 2010. It was a last minute trip and Craig was awesome! The unit is a corner unit with the best views ever! We woke up every morning to the sounds of the waves crashing practically in the living room and watching the turtles in the water! The people in Haleiwa were so kind, so different than what we found on Maui. When we return we would definitely stay here again. Every night there was always a crowd hanging out around the bbq and having a great time!
