Upon entering Casa Juanita, our top floor penthouse apartment, you are struck by one of the most breath-taking and magnificent views of Puerto Vallarta.  Guests have unobstructed views of the Bay, the Cathedral, and the distant mountains in every direction. Casa Juanita, is a one bedroom with a full sized bed, kitchen, living room, den, which can sleep two persons, and 1.5 baths.  

The Casa's open air living space offers a unique and comfortable way to enjoy the amenities of a living room and the beauty and warmth of the outdoors. Wherever you are in the living space, you will experience a striking view of Puerto Vallarta.

Just 5 blocks above the old town's famous beach boardwalk, attractions, top restaurants, art galleries and shopping are all literally steps away. Casa Juanita is uniquely decorated with local and family art, and is completely furnished including a fully equipped kitchen with apartment sized appliances. Apartment amenities include high speed wireless internet, cable, TV and linens and towels.

Casa Juanita has been recently redecorated and comes with weekly housekeeping service.  This is a family operation whose members want to share the beauty and charm that is Puerto Vallarta.

Casa Juantia still have vacancies for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1980

I am recently retired. I worked as a school psychologist for 31 years. My family has lived in Puerto Vallarta since 1960, so I feel like it is a second home to me. I like to hike, run, body board, but mostly relax when I am in Vallarta.

Why the Owner Chose Downtown (Viejo Vallarta)

My mother, Joan owns the apartment. She retired to Puerto Vallarta in the 70s. She purchased this property in 1980 and built Casa Juanita. She lived in the apartment for many years until she had to move back to the United States because of medical reasons. My wife, children and I have upgraded the apartment so that we could rent it to help my mother pay for her medical expenses. Both my grandparents and my mother retired in Puerto Vallarta and loved living there. We are hoping that guests who rent our apartment will enjoy their stay as much as my family has over the years.

The Unique Benefits of this Apartment

The apartment's atmosphere is amazing. When you walk into the apartment you are immediately struck by the view from the living space. It is so relaxing in the apartment, that sometimes you just want to stay there and relax. It is centrally located, but in a quiet neighborhood.

    • Although we have been vacationing in Puerto Vallarta for 25 years, this year was the first time we have stayed in “El Centro”. Casa Vina del Mar turned out to be the perfect place for us. In addition to the magnificent view the location was perfect. We were able to walk almost everywhere and as a result our weight stayed the same despite enjoying the wonderful nearby restaurants and bars. If you are a light sleeper, a good pair of earplugs would be advisable because of the music that seems to last all night sometimes. We would highly recommend Casa Vina del Mar!!!

    • I am not sure I want to let the secret out. This is a wonderful place! It lives up to the owner’s description. It is well managed and well maintained. It is ideally located in the center of town behind the Cathedral in an area known as “Gringo Gulch.” Elizabeth Taylor’s former home is a few blocks away. The truly amazing feature of this apartment is that the living room and kitchen have no outside walls! From the living room one has an expansive view of the whole of the Bahai de Banderas. This is not an impersonal timeshare with furnishings provided by the builder. The apartment was designed by an architect with an eye to detail. It is a home with personality, including paintings by the owners’ grandfather. Further, the apartment has an interesting back story: it was built and inhabited by John Huston’s secretary.
