Our Beach House is located between the friendly fishing villages of Chelem and Chuburna and is only 15 minutes from Progreso and 35 minutes from the beautiful Colonial City of Mérida (Airport code MID)
This beautiful beachfront house is located among a combination of International neighbors including American, British and Canadians whom have found this area to be beautiful, tranquil and friendly enough to call it home. it is a perfect piece of paradise where you can completely relax and get away from it all but still close enough for other activities.
Accommodation:
Fully furnished, this 2 bedroom, 3.5 bath home has a large, fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and an open living and dining area. The house also has Utility/Maid's room with it's own full bath, a Carport that will hold 2 cars and a lovely beachfront terrace with a panoramic view of the turquoise waters of the Gulf of México.
It can sleep up to 5 people in beds.
Local Information:
Chelem and Chuburna offer local Restaurants, small convenience stores and fruit and meat markets for your daily needs.
Progreso (15 Min. a way) has a lovely Malecon (Beach Walk)and the world's largest pier. There is a farmers Market with local foods and fish as well as handcrafts. There is even a subsidiary of Wal Mart called Aurrera Bodega which carries familiar American goods.
Merida. (35 Min. a way)is the Capital City of the State of Yucatan. There are a great variety of Restaurants and many shopping options. It has all mayor US stores like Wal Mart, Home Depot, Mc Donald's, Costco, Sam's Club . etc. You can also find Museums. Beautiful Architecture and free Cultural Enterteinment.
There are numerous opportunities for sightseeing in the area including the famous Mayan ruins at Chichen Itzá (one of the new Seven wonders of the World),Uxmal,Dzibichaltún, Xcambó, Cave Tours and Cenotes(Underground Rivers).
The Yucatán area is well known for its hospitable and extremely friendly local people. Anybody that visits the Yucatán is sure to fall in love with is beautiful land, beaches and people.
