Walk into this spacious, 1600 sq. ft condo and instantly feel "at home in Mexico." Sheer drapes crown the 15 ft. balcony doors, luxurious furnishings offer utmost comfort, and pillow top beds with 500-thread count sheets provide dreamy rest. Each bathroom features above-counter onyx sink and tumbled marble accents under the rain showerhead. Complete luxury!
The fully-equipped kitchen includes Bosch appliances, microwave, blender and modern concrete countertops. Housekeeping services are included at no additional charge, three times per weekly stay.
The living / dining area is bright and sunny, with modern lighting and artwork. This is our second home -- so furniture is high quality and "livable" -- not typical rental furniture. Walk out onto the balcony and you can hear the ON-PROPERTY WATERFALL IN THE CENOTE. Enjoy the call of exotic birds from the 35-acre aviary across the street. For breakfasts or evening solitude, relax on the spacious balcony, surrounded by palms and overlooking the pool.
Ready for the beach? Grab the beach chairs, fill the cooler and take the 60-second walk through a forest, past ANCIENT MAYAN RUINS to the gorgeous turquoise beach. It is simply awesome.
Our villa includes three flat panel TVs, Bose CD/Stereos in both bedrooms, an iPod docking station, DVD player and cable wireless internet. Games, books, DVD and CD libraries.
For shopping, lunch, dinners, stroll four blocks to the beautiful pedestrian plaza, surrounded by water fountains, and a variety of shops. Restaurants are too abundant to list, but include an eclectic mix from fine international dining to casual authentic Mexican spots. Spectacular attractions are minutes away, including Ixcaret eco-waterpark, Tulum Mayan ruins (on a seaside cliff), Xel-ha, along with numerous golf courses and spas. World-class diving at Cozumel, Akumal and other locations can be arranged through reliable tour guides.
Condo MAR is a peaceful retreat in gated Playacar Phase II. 20-condo units share 24-hour guard service. Our guests are cared for by an efficient and lovely bi-lingual property manager. EVERY ONE of our guests thus far has rated our condo 5 stars out of 5, and many have returned. This is a beautiful and unique place. You will really appreciate how special the location is when you see some of the noisy "on 5th" condos, or others that are miles from 5th Avenue.

Jeff & I love Mexico! We've been traveling to this beautiful country for years, and we hope to spend winters here full-time before too long. We have been fortunate to travel around the world -- somehow PDC, with it's mix of laid-back beach town and sophisticated international flavor, just spoke to us. We feel so fortunate to have found Condo MAR -- a quality condo, close to the beach, walking distance to dozens of incredible restaurants and driving distance to amazing attractions. Every time we visit, we find something new! Bienvenidos!
Why the Owner Chose Playacar
Condo MAR is super easy to get to -- fly into Cancun Airport and drive south 35 miles. We always feel safe in Playa del Carmen, it is off the beaten path. We find that PDC offers any kind of vacation you choose -- from an active diving vacation to a low-key beach hangout. Sometimes we rent a jeep and drive down to the remote beaches south of Tulum (we haven't been to Belize yet, maybe next trip!). The people are so friendly and helpful -- even if you don't speak Spanish, you won't have a problem with communication.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
Condo MAR is exquisite. It was built in 2005, and has amazing marble work. The 15 ft. balcony doors keep the condo light and sunny. We've installed sun-blocker shades in both bedrooms for those who wish to sleep in. The central air conditioning is zoned for each bedroom, and the bedrooms are separated by the living room / dining room for privacy. Perhaps the best feature: all of our guests love Esperanza, our property manager in PDC. She will take such good care of you!
