Owner's Map of East Haven
This is a small community. Many families have owned houses here for generations. It is very safe and friendly. The beaches are never crowded and are often deserted. It is unusual to be able to enjoy the sunrise and sunset on the same beach. You will feel like staying in the neighborhood so it is convenient that there are two restaurants on the street within walking distance. Once you come you will feel right at home. See you at the beach!

I was very excited when I found this wonderful beach cottage on HomeAway.com. It was everything it said here and so much more! Lanna, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming. It was just so cozy - I could stand on the porch and see the water at the end of the road, just like in the photo. Eat breakfast on the enclosed porch and watch the sun come up. Lanna has decorated with bright beachy accents that I totally loved. A very comfortable bed, wonderful kitchen (I used the oven quite a bit) and just minutes from where I was temporarily working. Peaceful and quiet. I couldn't wait to get back to it each night! I only hope that I'm lucky enough to come visit again someday. Thanks again, Lanna!

We arrived after a six hour drive to find Lanna waiting to greet us. The cottage was warm and welcoming and the neighborhood was quiet and friendly. The beach was fun, lots of hermit crabs, shells and sea glass to find - water was great, nice and warm compared to the Maine coast. The central location between New Haven and the easterly coast was perfect. Lots of good restaurants, bakeries and seafood vendors within 15 minute drive. Appreciated Lanna's gift and set-up of the cottage - great assortment of tourist information neatly organized in a binder. Great to have all the amenities of home. Lanna checked in often to see if we needed anything - she is a very caring and warm person. WiFi very much appreciated for the teen and tween. Would highly recommend, as we plan to return.

Charming Cottage in a Great Neighborhood

My husband and I stayed at this clean, charming cottage for two weeks in August and it was just the best. The cottage was well equipped and we appreciated the little extras we discovered all during our stay. We took side trips almost every day, getting back early enough to enjoy the beach, the sunsets, and the sailboat races which we could see from the outdoor patio. Jamaica Court is a true neighborhood: young, old, weekenders, year rounders, kids playing and selling lemonade -- all while respecting each others' privacy. Lanna was great to work with and we enjoyed her gift upon arrival. We highly recommend this delightful find.

We took this little cottage based on the online photos and were absolutely thrilled that the cottage lived up to the published description and more. Our host was available, but never intrusive during our month there. I am almost regret reviewing this as I'd like to keep it as our little secret! The neighborhood is quiet but friendly, The accommodations ideal for a couple or small family. The beach is handy and never crowded. We loved it!

All of the amenities were very accurately described in the ad. We used the internet, the long distance phone, plugged our IPODs into the stereo and by far the best was the central Air conditioning. The beach was very private and the river on the side provided interesting lanscape as the tides changed. We would reccomend this property and the owner was super to work with.
Owner response:Tracey and her family had fun on the beach and did not waste any time finding the interesting things to do in the area, like the Mystic Aquarium, the Trolley Museum and the Thimble Island Cruise. Both kids, 12 & 3 had a great time on the beach and at the water park up the street. The restaurant was a big hit, no one wants to have to cook on vacation!

We have just returned from the most fantastic holiday in this lovely cottage. The location was perfect - right on the beach with a restaurant within throwing distance. The children couldn't believe the sea was so close. The house is beautifully decorated, a real home from home. Lanna provided a very warm welcome, and although we had no need to bother her, it was reassuring to know she was close by. We will certainly be coming here again in the future!

Our stay at the Charming Beach Cottage was a great experience! The home was clean with extra towels and blankets. We utilized just about every appliance in the kitchen to prepare our meals and food for a graduation party. When we reported trouble with the gas grill the owner had a new grill delivered in a few hours. The photos reflect the homes proximity to beaches and salt marshes. Location is good for events/attractions in New Haven. The Cottage is in a quiet community. This was our first VRBO experience and has set a high standard. I would be very pleased to have an opportunity to stay again.

How lucky we were to find this place! An adorable cottage just steps from our own private beach. The warm welcome we received from the owner Lanna made us feel right at home and it very hard to leave. It had all the amenities on hand to make our stay comfortable, was just the right size, clean, had great places to eat across the street and down the block with plenty of choices for us to return many times. The bed was VERY comfortable. For us that can make or break a vacation - we were so happy when we put our heads down on the pillows the first night! :) It was decorated with many personal touches throughout each room and was easy to see how much thought Lanna put into making our stay enjoyable. This was a wonderful experience and deserves a heartfelt recommendation. We will be back! We miss the cottage already :(
