My husband is an avid skier and had been to Mount Snow a number of times. This was my and our 2 son’s first time to the area and Vermont. I wanted the “cabin in the woods” experience and needed to be close to Mt. Snow, as I would be the family shuttle each day. This was THE PLACE!!! The house was nothing short of amazing. Well appointed, very, very clean and even had toys up in the loft for the boys to play with. The house made such an impression on me that this summer we are looking to buy our own vacation home. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. All I can say if that I hope my future cabin in the woods is just like Spruce Lake! Thank You Tim & Sharon!

We had such a terrific time at this beautiful rental. We loved the proximity to services and to Mount Snow, where we visited twice for skiing and tubing. The house itself is very clean and cozy, and the open floorplan makes it very functional for families with young kids. During our downtime, we loved hanging out by the woodstove and just watching the snow fall over the lake through the picture windows. I'm sure it's equally beautiful in the summer and we look forward to coming back sometime very soon!

My group of friends and I could not have asked for anything more out of this vacation rental! The pictures of this beautiful home do not do it justice! Mother nature was battling our group with a blizzard so getting to the home from NYC took 9 hours with traffic, but let me tell you that when we arrived we were all taken back at how amazing the home was and all agreed that it was worth the drive through the blizzard. Skiing at Mt. Snow couldn't have been easier unless you were slope side. Why pay high prices for lodging at the mountain when this home can be had at a fraction of the price if shared amongst friends/family? Mt. Snow was easy and quick to get to with beautiful views along the way. Convenient shopping nearby with great places to eat. After a long day on the mountain, we returned to the house and got the fire roaring in the wonderful fireplace with a great view of the frozen lake. Cooking meals were easy with the fully equipped kitchen and outdoor gas grill. Everything I needed to cook a dinner 11 was easily accessible and painless to find. Coming from a NYC native, it felt good to get out of the city and take in the fresh Vermont air and just relax in front of a fire. The decor was consistent throughout the entire home and felt very welcoming and comforting. Tim was great throughout the booking process and made everything painless. He was patient with all of the many questions I had to ask and thoroughly described everything to the tee! I could go on and on but no description or review could do this home justice. The only thing that could have made it better is if my group and I had more time to stay. Do not hesitate to rent this house because you will not regret it! We all plan on returning again later this season for another skiing trip and possibly during the spring/summer for a swim in the gorgeous lake. Thank you Ryan's for a memorable experience!

This was my families first holiday. We couldn't have chosen a better place. It was breathtaking! When my family and I first walked in my kids were litterally jumping up and down with excitement and they are 17 and 18!! loll The stunning surroundings just made it a dream come true and it was at that moment I fell in love with Wilmington. To awake every morning and look out accross the lake calmed my mind and made me thankful for being there. Going into town was so lovely too, a bunch of wooden shops with such kind and lovely people. I couldn't have asked for a better holiday. Everything from wildlife to a mega washing machine! we toasted marshmallows under the stars, we fished for trout, we paddled the lake in a boat, we had dinner at Dot's and then came home to a very very comfortable and welcoming cabin. I dream of revisiting but I fear that this is a once in a lifetime holiday :( and my heart remains in Wilmington xx Thank you for sharing this lovely home and one day I may return x Trishy from England x
Owner response:Glad you made the trip from England! Come again!

Dear new family, Hi! We are the kids of the previous family. You will notice there is a baby duck swimming around by herself. Her mother and four siblings (you will see these swimming around too) abandoned her. Well, her name is Petunla and she likes company. If you sit in the water she will swim around you. If you have any food, she would love to take it, but feed her sparingly. She needs to learn to find food by herself. Thank you, previos family

This was our 4th year here, so it has to be nice. The house is roomy. The lake is beautiful and quiet--especially in the morning with the mist. My kids learned how to kayak and row on this lake. Memories we will have forever. Nice beach with a raft for them to practice their swimming. Many a sand sculpture has been built on this beach. Swimming out to the island in the middle (a.k.a. Mushy Island) to pick the wild blueberries was a highlight this year. Close to town, shopping, golfing. We thank you for renting your house to us. It is something we look forward to all year.

Our group of 6 (3 adults + 3 kids ages 7, 5, and 2) thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Spruce Lake log cabin. The location was perfect, on a quiet lovely lake with a lovely view of the mountains. The next-door neighbors were away for most of the week, so it felt very private and secluded. We grilled on the spacious deck almost every night and ate outdoors watching the duck family learn to swim. Our kids made good use of the canoes and fishing poles and the lake was well-stocked with fish. The beach could use some fresh sand, but the kids still enjoyed the swimming back and forth to the swimming platform in the lake. The house is in great condition and was clean and fresh on our arrival. The owner was very responsive when we had minor questions during our stay. There were plenty of toys and movies for the kids too. The space worked well for our group and I appreciated the dark curtains in the kids room so our little ones could nap. We took a day trip to Bromley mountain (about 1.5 hr drive) and the kids loved the alpine slide, bungee trampoline, and water slide. There was even a zip line for adventurous adults. We mostly cooked at the house in the well-equipped kitchen and deck grill, but Wilmington had a few good family dining spots we tried. It is a small town and it seems like everything closes down at 9 pm or earlier so no late night ice cream runs. We hiked Mt. Olga twice and enjoyed some scenic drives in the area. Lots of local produce available and we ate fresh fruits and vegetables daily. The brook running alongside the cabin gave a nice peaceful background noise in symphony with the local wildlife. We were truly able to relax and enjoy Vermont.

This is a great lake front property with easy access to the water and a great view from the porch. The lake is small but very quite and relaxing. The home is very well equipped and comfortable. I highly recommend the property.

Talk about the dream being the reality. We did this thing of looking & booking all online, all the way from Savannah Ga. How thrilled we were to find that it exceeded our expectations! Beautiful quiet spot, tucked away in this little piece of heaven and the cottage is just exactly if not better than the website portrays. I slept like a baby listening to the bubbling brook which runs beside the place. Tim, the owner is as helpful, friendly and responsive as he could be. My kids, blissfully unaware of budgetary considerations immediately requested that we return here in winter, which if pocketbook allows, we will try to do! An absolute gem!

My husband and I and our two kids (11 & 14) stayed here twice; for a ski weekend and a week-long summer vacation. We had a blast both times. First, this house is very clean & spacious! There are many great restaurants nearby but, if you decide to stay in and cook, you’ll find everything you need in the well stocked kitchen. During our ski weekend, we had one good day of skiing at Mt. Snow. The next day we decided to ice skate on the lake just a few steps away from this beautiful chalet. We also did some shopping in the quaint stores of downtown Wilmington. Our summer stay was great. There is a canoe you can use and my husband and son being avid fishermen, were fly fishing at sunrise. Later in the day, we swam at the beach and hung out on the float for the entire day. The are tennis courts only about 50 yards away. A very cold babbling brook runs along the house that is very cold and is great for exploring. The house has an enormous deck overlooking the lake where there seemed to be a continuous gentle breeze. A large gas grill is available to use on the spacious deck. The lake is also quiet as no jet skis or motor boats are allowed. The house has an eco-friendly geothermal cooling/heating system that kept the house cool & comfortable. There is something for everyone at this vacation home. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thanks to the owners for sharing their magnificent lakeside ski house!

Our group consisted of men and boys for a family golf vacation. The home is everything you see on the web site, bright and open with lots of space. The small lake makes it a home run if you have kids in the group as it is clean and provides lots of activities. Only located about 2 miles from the center of Wilmington provides for a short drive to Mt. Snow and Haystack. We will be back again.

Myself and a group of young professionals in our late 20s (total 10 of us) stayed at this Wilmington, VT home. It is quite impressive inside and out. We loved that it was brand new and very clean. It was well furnished, but not cluttered and the owners really thought of everything. There was a fully stocked kitchen in terms of utensils, cooking supplies and even spices, which was great because we cooked breakfast and dinner while we were there. It was nice to sit by the wood-burning stove at night after skiing & snowboarding at Mt. Snow all day (which was about a 10-15 minute drive or so). The house has really high ceilings and is extremely spacious. It overlooks a beautiful lake with a few other similarly nice homes surrounding it. The location was so peaceful and very convenient. We would have loved to be here in the summer, so that we could have made use of the large deck and the grill! They had a loft area with toys for younger children and a TV. Some members of my group brought their laptops and we were able to check e-mail and surf for ski conditions with the wireless internet. We thought the price was also very reasonable, especially given that we were able to split the cost 10 ways. I couldn't imagine staying at a hotel after this experience; it was so nice to have a common but dedicated space for all of us to hang out. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone!

We had such a fantastic visit over the winter that we had to come back in the summer. The ice skating was so much fun with my children. They spent the entire time outside sledding, skating, roasting marshmellows and building snow caves. When we went back in the summer, it was like a whole new vacation, between, the swimming, canoeing, and expolring in the woods. We took our bikes out for a ride into town as well. I love the house!! It feels like a luxury to be in a space that is so clean and comfortable. Having the movies and games for kids was great. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We are going to be back for sure.
