A charming, cheerful, clean and updated house, with lots of light and pretty landscaping, deck and picnic table, basement washer-dryer combo, and large screen TV/DVD/VCR. The neighbors are pleasant, Lake Michigan beach a visible five blocks away, and the village of Charlevoix five blocks. My two dogs enjoyed it, too. I will come again!

This was our third year at Serendipity and it never ceases to amaze us with its quiet location and yet downtown is just a short walk away (you have to get some fudge). It has everything you could possibly want in a rental. The decor and furnishings are top quality and love the king-sized bed upstairs! Don't let the outside of this property fool you. There were 5 adults at one point and no one was cramped for space. We'll be back again.

overall, this cottage was very nice. although it looks very small on the outside, the cottage is actually quite spacious. it is also very clean, and has all the amenities of home. the owners have done an excellent job making the home very comfortable - perfect for families, and very dog friendly! HOWEVER, please be prepared to deal with the property manager. after she cashed my check for the deposit, i waited weeks to see the actual contract. she did not respond to numerous voice mails/ emails, and after much persistence, i received the contract 6 days before i was scheduled to arrive at the cottage. after my stay, it took 3 weeks (and 3 phone calls) to get my deposit back- for the wrong amount! she claims that both my contract and my deposit were "lost in the mail." overall...wonderful cottage, but requires a lot of patience and persistence for the property manager!
Owner response:Of course no one wants an upset customer and we certainly apologize for any inconvenience that was experienced however the rental agreement was sent in a timely fashion - after all why wouldn't we want to confirm a rental? However there was a problem with the address that the customer provided and it was held at the post office for her to pick up. We actually were concerned about holding the reservation as we hadn't received it back with signature and deposit. We accepted her word that she still wanted our cottage and worked with her to obtain a committment. Our cottage was completely enjoyed as she states and unfortunately didn't remember that she had a linen & pet fee that was agreed to be removed from her deposit and that is why the amount was different. We try our best to provide a pleasant rental experience and will do everything within our means to ensure it. We strive for vacationers to relax and enjoy our home and the beauty of the Charlevoix area.

Despite the smallish size, this house "flows" well. We had 8 people at one point and didn't feel cramped. All the furnishings are of high quality (we don't like getting a rental and finding that everything was done as cheaply as possible). It's on a large corner lot in a quiet neighborhood. The house was clean. The beach and downtown are within walking distance. I would rent this place again.
